Good Morning Everyone ,
Looking like a dull grey start here in Brackley this morning , my usual day today using the bus services to Buckingham and then Bicester.
I cannot wait for the weekend , so I can watch some live cycling on TV , I have already watched some replays since the season restarted and although the event was from Italy you still had small clusters of spectators , social distancing of course .
Take Care ,
Mick

Welcome, anzie, how awful for you. What a great disappointment.
I cannot believe how irresponsible and totally selfish some people are, all because they wanted a drink.
What a dreadful impact this will have on the schools going back on Tuesday.

I don't know if this is fake news or not, but I heard that the person responsible was waiting for the results of a Covid test, but decided to go to the pub anyway. That along with people ignoring the rules has resulted in this lockdown.
There should be a charge of criminal negligence for anyone who does that.

All those business who had followed the guidelines, having to close again due to those selfish idiots.

Hopefully, you will have a lovely day with your husband and soon enjoy a celebration with your family.?

Good morning all,

Rather dull at the moment, and very still. It’s expected to brighten up and become very warm this afternoon.

I’ve got my Pilates class again this morning, so quite pleased that it is not too hot yet. I think tomorrow is meant to be even hotter.

Hoping to see my friend this afternoon for a socially distanced chat, which will be nice.

Enjoy Whitby, Scentia and many happy returns of the day. ???.

I’m just watching the young starlings squabbling over who gets first dibs at the coconut holding suet and seeds. It’s so amusing - they use up more energy arguing amongst themselves. Then one figures out how to balance on the shell to take a peck, when another bomb dives him off ?. Very entertaining to watch!

Well I’d better get a wiggle on and get changed for my class.

Take care everyone.
? to all with struggles and worries.

Welcome to this lovely Good Morning thread anzie and huge congratulations for your Golden Wedding. What an achievement ! ?

So sorry to hear that your plans have been spoiled due to the lockdown imposed in Aberdeen . I do hope you can rearrange for sometime in the near future . ?

gillybob Thu 06-Aug-20 08:32:40

Good morning from the NE coast where we have a bright start to Thursday . Not sure what the day will bring weatherise but all in all it’s been a really poor summer so far .

DH finally had his procedure yesterday after Monday’s waste of time, or in the words of the hospital Monday’s “mix up” . He had a really good night considering and it was me who couldn’t sleep as my legs were driving me nuts . Anyway I hope he can start getting properly better now ?

Happy Birthday Scentia I hope you have a lovely long weekend in Whitby, which was featured on our NE news last night. Take care on the motorbike won’t you smile

Glad to see you back Lins1066 you were missed. I hope your internet is well and truly sorted now . I’ve got washing to go out too but the weather has been so unpredictable in these parts I never know what to do for the best .

I’m off to “that place” in a minute or two and then straight to DD’s to help her with some jobs .

Thinking of our missing friends as usual especially dragonfly and BlueSapphire and those feeling poorly or under the weather too . Hope you are starting to see some benefit from your treatment Marydoll .

Have as good a Thursday as possible everyone.
Love Gillybob xx

Morning from a sunny Aberdeen. This is the first time I have posted. Saturday is our golden wedding and all our plans have been cancelled as the city has been locked down. A gazebo was bought; we had more than 60 people coming to the garden at four different times over the Saturday and Sunday.
The catering was all organised and I cannot count how many trips to the supermarket we have made. Even the greenhouse had been given a makeover and is sparkling.
Yesterday I was so frustrated by the irresponsible actions of some people, but having contacted everyone I realise how much we have for which to be thankful. We have lovely friends and family and have a lifetime of happy memories. My DH will do anything to help. He cooks, irons and gardens.
Saturday will be a happy day no matter what.

Urmstongran Thu 06-Aug-20 08:27:56

True Gingster! Plus we’d all be crammed into the same back garden which would be a squish.
?

Sorry to hear your husband isn’t well Grammaretto. I’m not sure if you’ve shared on here what the worry is but either way I hope he feels better soon.

Lins good to have you back! ✅

Gingster Thu 06-Aug-20 08:17:33

Good morning all. A bit grey at the moment and a little cooler here on the Suffolk coast. The sun is beginning to break through. We really have had a lovely summer here. Windy yesterday but we stained our wooden garden furniture and it dried In a blink of an eye. Might give it another coat today ?. Or might not. ?. It looks good.

Everyone’s Paradise is different Urmstongran . You love the heat and the buzz of the Spanish way of life. I love the quiet, warm days with our wonderful views of the ever changing sea, and the amazing sunrises and sunsets in this huge Suffolk sky.
Watching for seals bobbing up and down. The skylarks overhead and the seagulls . The resident hawk keeps us amused with his patient hovering .This is paradise for me! Good job we aren’t all the same! Life would be dull!

Happy birthday Scentia and have a great time in Whitby. (Your paradise). ?

Have a peaceful day all. ?

Lins1066 Thu 06-Aug-20 08:11:55

Good Morning Mick and all from a cloudy S Welsh coast. We have had overnight rain, hope it warms up as I have laundry to hang out. I haven't posted for nearly two weeks as we've had no internet, Open Reach have been here for days and have laid a new cable under the front lawn.
I think that you were hoping to go away Mick so I hope you had a good time, also enjoy the cycling as I know how much you enjoy it.
Happy Bithday Scentia ??
Hope that gilly's husband is feeling better, also Mr Grammaretto. Hope that you are ok today Marydoll.
Cleaned out the fridge yesterday in readiness for a Sainsbury's delivery later this morning.
Take care everyone and stay safe.

Hermia46 Thu 06-Aug-20 08:08:50

Go on Marydoll let us in your response I bet it was wonderful wink

Marydoll Thu 06-Aug-20 07:58:15

Good morning all, it's quite bright here in Glasgow. Thank goodness, it rained non stop here yesterday. It was relentless.

Nothing planned, I was awake for most of the night, hence my trawling of GM in the wee sma' hours. I received a scam PM in the middle of the night, from Simon, who wanted to get to know me better I did respond and I bet he wished he hadn't contacted me! ?

Scentia, have lovely day today ????, I love Whitby.

Sending best wishes to all our friends and partners who are struggling. ?
Have a good day.

Nannytopsy Thu 06-Aug-20 07:56:21

You are right about the wind Pittcity. I am finding that everything is drying out very quickly.

brook2704 Thu 06-Aug-20 07:55:57

Good morning everyone from a warm sunny Inverness. Yesterday was cloudy but today we’ve got a lovely clear blue sky.
I slept really well last night as the DGC are back home for today as their Dad has a day off work and is looking after them. We’ve got them for the last time tomorrow before they’re back at school next week.. So today I’ll be enjoying the peace and quiet in the garden and meeting my friend for coffee in the local garden centre later.
Thinking of anyone from Aberdeen that’s gone back into lockdown. Hopefully the cluster of cases will be contained quickly and things can open up again soon.
Wishing scentia a very Happy Birthday and enjoy your weekend break in Whitby????? - stay safe on that motorbike!
Have a great day everyone and take care whatever the day brings ?

Pittcity Thu 06-Aug-20 07:52:54

Good morning from a grey skied Colchester. It's already very warm. The sun will come out and we'll have another scorcher like yesterday. It was very windy here yesterday, a hot dry wind, so I have watered my pots this morning as well as last night.
Happy birthday Scentia and love to all. "xx

NanKate Thu 06-Aug-20 07:37:11

Morning Mick and All from a cloudy but warming up South Bucks.

??Happy Birthday Scentia. I was 20 when you were born I loved my one visit to Whitby. Hope you can avoid Dracula. ?

Enjoy the cycling Mick. Still waiting for some decent tennis.

A neighbour has invited me round, plus others, for drinks tonight to thank all those who have looked after her through the pandemic. I wish I felt it was no over but I suspect not ! DH can’t come as he has TWO grocery deliveries.

?for MrGillyBob

Grammaretto Thu 06-Aug-20 07:34:50

Good morning all from the Scottish Borders. I think it's going to be a warm day. A friend for tea in the garden otherwise looking after DH who still isn't feeling better.
Happy Birthday young Scentia !
I hope MrGilly is recovering well.
It's the last week of the school holidays here and our DGD is starting in P1. She's v excited smile

Nannytopsy Thu 06-Aug-20 07:28:57

Good morning Mick and all his followers.
Happy Birthday Scentia! ?
It’s grey, still and warm in Suffolk this morning. I did more weed clearing yesterday, before it got too hot but it’s ivy and bramble roots, so hard digging and slow progress. DH built some wooden planters to go on the new fence. We have an appointment at the tip today - whoever thought that would be exciting?
I hope the day is kind to everyone.

kittylester Thu 06-Aug-20 07:10:12

Morning all from a muggy North Leicestershire.

A pootling and faffing morning for me then a Sainsbury's Click and Collect. I had a panic yesterday when I went to finish my order and discovered that I didnt have a delivery slot booked. No idea how that happened but there were lots of Click and Collect slots for today. Phew.

Neighbours garden drinks today and then a delivered tapas as its dh's birthday tomorrow.

Many happy returns scentia. And, best wishes to all who are under the weather.

Gelisajams Thu 06-Aug-20 07:09:22

Good morning from Morecambe Bay where it is cloudy but dry.
Happy birthday Scentia.
Just going to put a loaf in the bread maker . We are walking over Pen y Ghent In the Dales later after we have collected our click and collect.
Hoping when I pop back on Gilly has some good news for us.
Take care and stay safe everyone ?

grandMattie Thu 06-Aug-20 07:02:32

Happy birthday Scentia. So young! Have a lovely day. flowers

cornergran Thu 06-Aug-20 06:57:51

Morning Mick, morning All. A bright start to our corner of Somerset, it’s warming up here. I’ve absolutely no idea what I’ll do today. Mr C isn't himself, not ill, just not on top form, think covid restrictions are getting to him now although he’d never admit it. Will try to think of something to lift his spirits. Happy birthday Scentia, you seem very young to me smile. Be gentle with yourselves everyone, especially those getting over health issues or with heavy hearts.

Beechnut Thu 06-Aug-20 06:55:07

I forgot to say good morning to you all.

Sar53 Thu 06-Aug-20 06:53:48

Wishing you a very Happy Birthday Scentia ?? take it steady if you go to Whitby on the motorcycle ?

Sar53 Thu 06-Aug-20 06:51:53

Good morning from Essex by the sea. I haven't opened the blinds yet but it doesn't appear to be sunny. I believe tomorrow is going to be a scorcher.
We went out for a Rishi meal last night. A local Indian restaurant. Everything was done by the book and we had a lovely meal.
Food shopping this morning, then DH will meet up with his friends for a couple of pints and put the world to rights.
My 11 year old DGD had her ears pierced yesterday and sent me pictures. She said it didn't hurt.
Have the best day you can and stay safe xx
