Good Morning Everyone,
Its grey and its wet here in Brackley this morning .
Today a quiet day in , and watch final stage of the Dauphine on TV .
Yesterday on buses to Buckingham and Bicester , slightly smaller flea market on with not many dealers, the person I usually see was not there .
Small shop later , as I have said a easy day in.
Take Care ,
Mick

Good morning from a grey E Kent.
Rain? Forgotten what that’s like. We’ve probably had about 8 days of rain since early March.
Quiet day. Watch the service on pc, DD is preaching today.
Roast lamb for dinner this evening.
Rugby has started again, two games Watched yesterday, probably two more today. Although I quite enjoy watching, I’ve learned that I annoy DH, so remove myself to do other things, including of course all the wifely things like cooking and tidying up!
Have a good day, one and all. Hope it’s less humid and The temperatures more tolerable.

Morning Mick from a lovely cool Espana where we’ve got September weather in August! Never known it to feel this fresh of a morning but it’s so much more to my liking than mugginess!

Have you been watching Il Lombardia Mick - I read that a Belgian cyclist came a cropper yesterday- hope he’s ok ? I know all the cycling tours are all mixed up this year!

Out to watch the footie later this evening so a quiet sunny Sunday for us and hope everyone has a peaceful day also x

This is unusual for me ( up and about at this time!) but we have to be somewhere a bit later, and I have a few things to do before we go.
Very Autumnal here, misty and cool and it was raining during the night.Am not complaining....after all the far too hot and humid weather I’m loving it.The garden appreciated a good drenching.
No cooking to do at all today ( hooray!)?
Have a good Sunday everyone.

Good morning from Shropshire. It has rained over night and still grey and damp now.

We had a nice meal out yesterday to celebrate my niece’s engagement. We then drove over to New Brighton hoping for a walk by the sea but it was absolutely packed so we didn’t stop.Everywhere we went was so busy so we ended up driving home without getting out of the car.We will wait until the children are back at school and will go mid week for our next jaunt.

We received a letter yesterday with the rules in place if we want to attend church also a questionnaire to see what category of risk we fall into.We are both mid risk. Most of our congregation will be high risk because of age and so are recommended not to attend. Not sure what we will do.

Hoping for a quiet day today before a busy week.DGD coming to stay as Henry going into hospital on Tuesday.Only DD can go in with him,our son in law is planning to sit in the car in the car park?so best DGD is with us.

Sending good wishes to all and hoping dragonfly, blue sapphire, purple pixie are feeling better than they were?

Good Morning all from a damp and grey Severnside. I must have been extra tired as I have just woken up.....from a dreamy sleep. Some odd going’s on in it ?

More pottering on the cards for me today and maybe write some letters.

Enjoy your day whatever you do ?

Sar53 Sun 16-Aug-20 07:38:49

Good morning from a reasonably bright Essex by the sea.
We had quite a downpour yesterday morning and then a fairly grey but warm day.
Yesterday afternoon was spent at a family BBQ.
No plans, as yet, today. Probably a drive somewhere for coffee. DH is watching the snooker so the television will be on this afternoon for that and the Grand Prix.
Have a very pleasant Sunday and stay safe everyone xx

Good morning from a grey but humid Colchester. It rained for most of yesterday.
Trip to Lidl and laundry today. The tumble dryer may need to go on....

Urmstongran Sun 16-Aug-20 08:03:20

Sun’s up here! ?
But boy, is it windy woo!

Good morning everyone from Malaga where the palm trees are dancing in the gardens ?

Himself will be living his best life today - the Grand Prix this afternoon, followed by a stroll down to a sports bar to meet his mates and watch the Rangers game (he’s been co-opted as mascot) then back up to watch Man Utd on his iPad.

I’m meeting a friend at 8pm. We plan G&Ts in a bar off the dual carriageway which is down the hill, Mar y Sol. Then over the road for a Chinese on the huge terrace. I always order Singapore noodles because I love the chilli kick and a side of broccoli with garlic. I don’t eat Chinese very often so I never get bored with these two dishes!

Hope Sunday is kind to us all. Hope Henry’s appointment goes well Sar53 and that he comes on leaps and bounds very soon.

Keep safe everyone that’s the main thing. x

Good morning all from the Scottish Borders. I had such a lovely day yesterday which will have to keep me going. 2 DGD gave me a birthday hug. Today is the actual birthday but who cares. They've been holidaying in Scotland and came, with their DP for an impromptu meal on their long journey south.
It's been over a year and they have turned into beautiful little women.
DH rallied too though he still is far from well.

I plan, unless something else comes up, to pick wild raspberries in the woods. Simple pleasures are the best.
Wishing a good day to you all.

Urmstongran Sun 16-Aug-20 08:09:04

Your day sounds perfect GG13. Eating, drinking and reading!

Good morning from a wet, grey West Yorkshire.

Only the other day we were sweltering in oppressive, stifling heat...
Now we are back to rain and cooler temperatures...
Has Autumn arrived already?

Have a good Sunday everyone everywhere...Stay safe.

Good morning everyone from a misty damp Inverness. Yesterday the sea mist was lingering here so we drove down the road a few miles into the Cairngorms where it was A beautiful warm sunny day. Had a gorgeous walk around a loch and a picnic near the waters edge - really enjoyed it!
Today I’ll be packing and repacking my suitcase for the trip to my daughters tomorrow - I need to travel light and can never decide what clothes to take. I think there’s rain in the forecast for next week so clothes for all weathers I think!
Happy Birthday grammaretto hope you have another lovely day - enjoy your raspberries! ????
Wishing little Henry all the best for Tuesday susan poor lamb
Hope everyone finds something to enjoy today and take care whatever the day brings ?

Good Morning Mick and all. Cloudy and dry here on our part of the S Welsh coast. It rained most of yesterday and the garden received a good drenching. DS and family are coming to eat with us later, DD will be here too along with her new puppy. He is a a Cocker Spaniel and so cute.
Roast beef and Yorkshire pudding followed by a strawberry cheesecake. DH will watch the Grand Prix later. Enjoy the Dauphine Mick, the scenery is spectacular.
Happy Birthday Grammaretto.
Have a good day everyone

Morning All

Grey and still here in the north of Norfolk. We were supposed to have had a good shower or two yesterday, but only managed a brief light drizzle. We've had just about as much rain this year as grandMattie. Perhaps today will be The Day it Rains!

No plans for today so may get around to sorting out all the DVD's and old video tapes we cleared out of the drawer at the beginning of Lock Down and haven't really started looking through yet!

Urmstongran Sun 16-Aug-20 08:34:25

Bet you’re excited to visit your daughter brook! However think there’s rain in the forecast for next week so clothes for all weathers I think! if it were me, going to my daughter’s, I’d just borrow some of her stuff - cardigan, brolly and travel light!
?

NfkDumpling Sun 16-Aug-20 08:34:43

Spoke too soon - its raining!

NfkDumpling Sun 16-Aug-20 08:35:53

Nope - rain has stopped! Perhaps it's practising for later.

Good morning all from a cloudy Glasgow, nothing exciting to report today.
I was smiling when I read comments about posters experiencing autumnal weather, we haven't even had a summer yet.☹️

Ginster, there was no need to apologize about the university places. I knew you were all upset and obviously were unaware of how things work. I hope your granddaughter get something sorted.

Kalu, thanks I will reply later to your helpful PM.

Well I survived Tesco, but did it survive me??
After persuading the overprotective, loved up couple ?to leave me to my own devices and do their own shopping, I was like a child in a sweetie shop in the clothes and homewares dept! Simple pleasures.?

My friend across the road's son has made the decision to bring his wedding forward and is getting married in a few weeks in a small hotel, beside the mountain, where his partner proposed to him, so I needed a wedding card. My Tesco visit was my only opportunity to buy one. Not my ideal choice.
We would normally have been invited, but like my daughter, it will be immediate family only.
My friend asked if I had a black fascinator for her daughter to wear at the wedding. I found four!!!?

The day got worse after that. My SIL forgot to bring up my prescriptions and as they are off on honeymoon to a small cottage in the middle of nowhere, I suggested that, as my car needs a run, I would come and pick them up later.
Late afternoon, I went out and started my car, the battery was totally dead.?
It was my own fault! I usually run it around the block a few times, but I haven't been too well recently and couldn't face it and all the temporary traffic lights around here.
I phoned the AA, eventually go through, only to be told it was better if I used their app.☹️
I used the app, put in my registration, only for it to come up as a car I owned in 1996. As soon as I ticked thee box to say that was the wrong car, I got a message saying I had to call them!!!!!!!!!!!?
The operator went through a script.

Where is the car? In my driveway

Are you in a safe place? Yes. I've already said, I'm phoning from home

Is the car a silver Megane cabriolet? No, I have already said, that's the wrong car. Your database is wrong and I have previously asked for this to be changed.

Please open the car windows to reduce the risk of Covid I can't, the battery is flat.

Are you self isolating? I've already said, that I have been shielding, so very unlikely I have Covid. Could please alert the that patrolman, I have been sheilding?

So, no-one is likely to have Covid? No ( I was becoming more exasperated, as time went on.

So it's not a silver, Megane cabriolet?. No!

Unfortunately when the patrolman arrived, I was having a really bad coughing fit (due to those blooming meds). He recoiled back down the drive!??

The outcome: ?
I need a new battery, unusual type
It is out of stock
It costs approx £200
The garage is closed for the weekend.
How am I going to get a dead car to the dealership???
I sat down and wept!

Oh how I long for life before Covid, as I'm sure we all do.

I'm not planning on doing much today. Stripping the bed is the only only task on the cards. My mother would be shocked, washing on a Sunday!?

I always have, Blue Sapphire and Dragonfly in my thoughts.

Happy Sunday, everyone! Enjoy.

Morning Mick, morning All from a soggy corner of Somerset. If anyone is missing rain they are totally welcome to ours. The forecast for today and the next week is dire. Hope to manage a walk today then plan to interrogate a large box lurking in a cupboard, have totally forgotten what’s in there. I feel a cull coming on. Sounds a stressful week ahead susan, Hoping for a positive outcome for Henry. Happy Birthday grammaretto, relax and enjoy. Take care everyone and be gentle with yourselves.

Marydoll Sun 16-Aug-20 08:49:27

Happy birthday, Grammaretto! ???
