Good Morning Everyone,
Its grey but its dry outside here at the moment in Brackley .
Yesterday , the dealer I normally see did not show again at the flea market .
With things as o bus services returning to some normality on some services , with schools starting up as well.
The coming week will be interesting not only with trips out, but also watching the Tour De France unfold as no day is the same on that race or other cycle stage races .
So small shop later , TV ,and Lunch then settle down to watch the racing on Eurosport , I get the impression due to coronavirus the British commentary is coming from a studio in London and not on the race due to the quarantine rules effecting commentary team members when the event is over.
Take Care ,
Mick

Cloudless sky in North Somerset but a distinctly autumn feel in the air. We are going to church for the first time since March - well, I am. DH has to to isolate till his cataract op on Tuesday so he won’t be coming. I’m still excited though. Otherwise no plans for the day though something house or garden related will undoubtedly make its presence felt. Hope we all have a drama free day.

Good morning from Durham, where it’s grey, cool but dry. Going to help a friend move some pots and tubs to her new house this morning. Official move is Tuesday, but house is VP. Not sure what to expect, as she’s living with her ex-2nd husband for 5 years, with the house on the market. End of an era, as the house remained hers as a settlement from her 1st marriage. Her 2AS live near, but not supporting as they say she gave away their inheritance when she re-married. They didn’t like him, nor he them.
Water under the bridge now?

DD2 calling this afternoon. Hopefully we can get out for coffee and cake somewhere!
She was 37 on Friday - can’t believe it! Tempus fugit as the saying goes.

Have a good day everyone. X

Good morning from Shropshire.

A dry and sunny day is forecast so the great garage clear out will be on hold for today while we work in the garden.

Cherry,hope you had a restful night.x

Good morning from the NE coast where we have another grey and cold day. Yesterday reached the dizzy heights of around 11 degrees and today is forecast the same . More like October than August .

I did a little food shopping yesterday and ended up wandering into an outdoor shop outlet where I bought myself a much needed winter jacket . It was quite expensive (for me) and I have worried about it all night . It’s sat in the bag staring at me right now and I’m wondering if I shouldn’t take it back or pull the tag off and be done with it . I really do begrudge spending money on myself .

Had a long chat with my son on the phone last night who is home alone with my grandson this weekend . They’d been to football and were having a takeaway pizza for supper as the “girls” are all at a horsey thing somewhere down country . My grandson thinks it’s great when it’s just him and dad doing “men’s stuff” grin

DH and I watched a couple of episodes of “Better call Saul“ and we had an Indian takeaway which was delicious . smile

Still thinking about our missing friends dragonfly , BlueSapphire and Bellasnana and also those feeling poorly or under the weather too.

I hope everyone has the best Sunday possible .

Love Gillybob xx

Good morning All. It's dry, calm and cloudy here in Polmont. I'm out for a family breakfast soon. I'm looking forward to it and seeing ds and his partner as well as the usual suspects. I roasted a chicken yesterday, stripped the carcass and made stock so I'll make soup later. I might bake as there's not much in the tins. Apart from that, nothing else is planned. I had a very poor sleep last night, awake every hour. Marydoll mum used to make bramble jelly every year. Our September was always picking the fruit from hedgerows. I agree, it's a footer. I hope everyone has a good day.

Good morning everyone from a dull, grey Essex by the sea. I think Autumn has arrived in very quick time.
No plans today apart from roast beef and Yorkshire pudding. DH will watch the GP highlights later and there is a new series of Cormaran Strike on tonight. The first new series for a long time.
Have the best Sunday you can and stay safe xx

Marydoll Sun 30-Aug-20 08:39:43

GM I meant to say, he prefers jelly, not jam. No seeds allowed!!!!!

brook2704 Sun 30-Aug-20 08:34:31

Happy birthday to your DGS nannytopsy hope you all enjoy the pizza and cake! ? ??

NannyJan53 Sun 30-Aug-20 08:33:04

Good morning from a bright and sunny Black Country.

Had a lovely walk yesterday along Cardingmill Valley, it was bright sunshine, but not too warm. It is about an hours drive from here.

Planning a BBQ tonight as Partners daughter is here today. They are going on a bike ride later, so I will have chance to read and relax smile

Wishing everyone great Sunday

Good morning everyone from Inverness where it’s dry and cloudy but with a definite chill in the air. I hope the Bank Holiday weather improves a bit for everyone with outdoor activities planned
Yesterday morning I popped to see DD2 and my two DCG who live close by, it was lovely to see them as I’d missed them all whilst I was away. I’ll try to get a FaceTime call with DS1 sometime today as I’ve not seen him since last year as he lives abroad.
Nothing else planned for today, I’ll be pottering in the garden for a bit as there’s always lots to do and I enjoy being outside.
Hope things turn out ok with your DH brother kittylester
Happy packing mumofmadboys ?
Hope everyone finds something to enjoy today and take care whatever the day brings ?

Nannytopsy Sun 30-Aug-20 08:31:02

Good morning Mick and the rest of the gang. Grey in Suffolk but it has stopped raining and the wind has died down. We put the heating on for an hour last night as it was so chilly. It is DGS’s birthday today so we are off to their campsite this afternoon for pizza and cake. I bet they were cold last night!
I want to do some garden tidying this morning, to make sure the brown bin is full for collection tomorrow! Also, friends are coming next weekend and I want to have got further with building new beds etc. She is a garden designer!
I hope the day is kind to everyone.

Lins1066 Sun 30-Aug-20 08:29:21

Good Morning Mick and all. It is sunny and chilly here on the S Welsh coast. Family coming to eat later so looking forward to seeing them. We are having a roast chicken which will go down well. Have a peaceful Sunday everyone and stay safe.

grandMattie Sun 30-Aug-20 08:26:22

Marydoll, these day (+retirement) make it hard to know which day is which.
And surely bramble jam is easier to make? Unless he likes it seedless, in which case, I absolutely agree! ?

GrannyGravy13 Sun 30-Aug-20 08:24:34

Good morning Mick and all

The sun is trying to get through the clouds and it’s breezy here in S E Essex.

A lazy day here until DD and GC turn up for dinner (roast chicken) we do not eat till 7ish so there is no rush.

Keep safe and well folks ?‍♀️

Marydoll Sun 30-Aug-20 08:17:58

Good morning all from a cool Glasgow, it's 43° degrees here, definitely autumnal, but a least it's dry!
Poor DH was woken up by me telling him that he had slept in for his golf game.
He was not amused. I thought today was Monday.?

DD and SIL arrived for lunch yesterday, very early as usual. I thought I could hear someone in the garage and went to investigate. They were sneakily trying to hide boxes of stuff from their flat, as they are planning to move soon, once they do some jobs in it.
Later I got a text from DS2, saying his was flat was being surveyed tomorrow in preparation for a sale and was there any room in our garage or loft! Both siblings are now bidding in a space and possibly a bed war. ?
Just now seems to be the time to sell, houses here are selling in days and way above the asking price. Great for the sellers, but not so for the buyer.

DH has just come back with the papers, so a gentle morning relaxing in the conservatory and perhaps a stroll to see if there are any brambles in the field behind us. DH will only eat bramble jam, not jelly. It's such a footer to make( faff) !!!

Sending everyone my best wishes for a peaceful and gentle Sunday.

Greyduster Sun 30-Aug-20 08:10:04

Good morning Michael and all GNs. The sun is shining in South Yorkshire but it hasn’t warmed up yet. We went out picking elderberries yesterday to make some cordial. DH volunteered to strip them off the stalks while I was making a curry, and then said he wishes I would get this foraging thing out of my system! He didn’t complain when we were making wine with them years ago. I didn’t tell him but we haven’t finished yet - I need more?! Roast pork for lunch today - DD and her menfolk are coming to eat with us. Blackberry and apple crumble for afters. Have a good safe day folks.

Gingster Sun 30-Aug-20 08:07:19

Glad you are at a safe distance from the fires Urmstongran terribly sad about the 30yr old who died in a hotel fire.

Pittcity Sun 30-Aug-20 07:59:34

Good morning from a grey, chilly Colchester.
We have new fence panels to paint and install this week so are praying for dry, still weather.
Will nip to Lidl as we haven't got a Sunday roast yet.

kittylester Sun 30-Aug-20 07:56:55

Morning all from a chilly, only 7 degrees, North Leicestershire.

Had worrying news of one of DH's brothers last night so that might change whether we get our proposed roast beef today or dash north to see the stubborn old so and so.

Dh has 3 brothers and they are all a worry one way or another! Mine on the other hand are fine......currently!

Take care everyone.

Urmstongran Sun 30-Aug-20 07:51:23

No Gingster - Estapona is further along the coast towards Gibraltar - about an hour’s drive away. Awful thing to happen. There was also a fire in an hotel in Puerto Banus two days ago when a 30y old Frenchman died.

Gelisajams Sun 30-Aug-20 07:51:17

Good morning from a cool bright Morecambe Bay. There was a lovely sunset last night so today could well be quite pleasant weather wise.
No Zoom church today. After almost 6 months we are meeting in a field for a communion service. Why was this not done during the warmer weather I question?
A lazy day today as we are always tired after travelling yesterday. DS put his house up for sale and it sold immediately. We called to see the one he is interested in buying, just from the outside of course. How do I tell them I think they are making a mistake when they are so excited. Hopefully they will get a structural survey which will allay my fears.
Enough off my musings. Take care and stay safe everyone ?

Good morning Mick and All.

Safely back home after a lovely few days in West Berkshire. We were recommended to a small pub in Chilton Foliat which turned out to be excellent, in fact we went twice. We later found out the young man owning and running the pub was an ex Contestant on Masterchef, he got to the semi finals. So good to find someone so enthusiastic about locally produced food.

Off for a walk around Cliveden then home via M and S to stock up with some provisions. They are doing a Chinese meal in a box for two I rather fancy that.

Have a peaceful day folks.

Gingster Sun 30-Aug-20 07:42:39

Good morning all from a drizzly Suffolk coast. We’re definitely getting our long awaited rain now. The lawn looks greener already.

Yesterday DH went to his first local football match. It made such a difference to him. Jolly and chatty and enthusiastic (for him) and his team won. It rained the whole time but he just didn’t care. ?. While he was out, I made a large jar and a small jar of tomato and apple chutney as I listened to a radio play by Agatha Christie. One that had been hidden away for decades. ‘The Lie’ . Not a murder/mystery but a reflection in her unhappy first marriage. Quite good. Watched another Aggie at teatime ‘Murder on the Blue Train’. I love the era and the plots.

Terrible fires in Spain. Anywhere near you Urmstongran?

Good service from the Indian fabric company GrandMattie. ?

Left over gammon ham (from having visitors). What to do with it. .? Might just have it with mash and pickles. A la Christmas. ?

Have a pleasant day all. It sounds like some of you have got sunshine. Not a great Bank Holiday here though. ?

Urmstongran Sun 30-Aug-20 07:04:43

Sun’s up here! ?
It’s darker in a morning now then it’s as if a light has been flicked and it sunny!
Good morning everyone from Malaga ?

The local SUR newspaper reported yesterday that Supersol have all been bought out by the French Carrefour group for 73million. 90% of Supersol are in Andalusia. The one across the road will be a Carrefour Express in the NY. Perhaps I ought to do what the savvy young ‘uns do & buy some Supersol own brands and put them up on eBay next summer and make a small fortune? Nah, can’t be bothered and I have never had any interest in an eBay account
?

No plans whatsoever today. Might have takeaway pizza tonight. If I go over to eat I’ll be tempted to have ? with it!

Hope Sunday is kind to us all. Keep safe everyone that’s the main thing. x
