Good Morning Everyone,
Its a red sky but cloudy and dry at the moment here in Brackley this morning.
Intend to get flowers for graves this morning , which means a bus journey ,and then an easy day in watching the Tour de France on TV , yet Brits in another cycle race in in Italy for under 23`s seem to fairing better .
Take Care ,
Mick

Good morning from a greyish EKent.
Got thrown by the “other GM” thread!
A free day today, apart from the usual cooking etc. Wash day, so folding and ironing invoked. No I don’t hate ironing, I’d rather do that than dust anytime. I even iron my pure cotton sheets - we are sheets and blanket people, probably the last on earth!
Had a “standing” day yesterday. Everything I did seemed to involve being on my feet. Does nothing for my back.
Be gentle on yourselves today, stay safe.

Invoked ironing? Sounds terrifying! = involved...

Scentia Wed 02-Sept-20 06:40:20

Good Morning Michael, from East Staffordshire where it looks like a fine day in store. I wasn’t fooled by the imposter this time!
The Tour this year is how it used to be years ago, with very few brits in the lead, my DH did try and explain where they had all gone but I wasn’t really listening, something about team Ineos and them just not being good enough! He is enjoying it still though as I am sure you are.
A day with my DD and DGS today, we are off walking the trails today.
Take care all and I go hope you get some sunshine ☀️

Good Morning from a cloudy Black Country. Red sky here, and rain is forecast for later.

Had to wait in most of the day yesterday for courier to collect my Covid test. He arrived just after 3pm

Today I am meeting up with a friend who only lives a mile away, we will sit in her garden, or if the weather not too good in her Conservatory.

Didn't get round to the ironing yesterday, so it is still there lurking! smile

Wishing you all a good day

Good Morning everyone from a dry Severnside. Looks like it will be a nice day until teatime.

Off to get my car tested first thing and then back home to do some work.

My friends are still sheets and blankets grandMattie. We changed to quilts in the late 70’s after a holiday in Germany.
On that same holiday was the first time we’d eaten spag bol and visited a McDonalds.

Have the best day you can all ?

Good morning morning Michael, I do like checking these threads, I find them very calming and it’s interesting to see what everyone’s up to. May I ask if you live on your own? You seem very content. Hello from St Albans, I’ll get up now and off to a day’s work in a busy medical practice. Have a good day everyone.

grandMattie Wed 02-Sept-20 07:12:38

Beech, I absolutely refuse to go to duvets unless we have his & hers. DH takes most of the bedding as it it, with duvets I’d be permanently scrabbling to have a corner. As it is, I have enough trouble to have barely my share of bed!

Good morning Mick and everyone, still half asleep! Washing today and cleaning the downstairs, quick (hopefully) trip to chemist.
This afternoon I shall watch the new All creatures great and small, recorded as DH wanted to watch cricket last night.
Have as good a day as you can all.

Morning everyone from a damp south Cornwall. A friend is coming for coffee this morning, but she's bringing it! I'm next door to a rather swish cafe so she's offered to bring special coffees from there, a kind thought. Then an NHS physio phone appointment to discuss my hips followed by a 3 and 4 year old arriving for just an hour later. Will cook up some black playdough en masse for them beforehand. Have a good day where possible.

(That other good morning poster sounds lonely and always posts at 5 something. Maybe he's low first thing and/or too shy to join in here later?)

Good Morning all , another very wet morning here ! I have to lift water out of my water feature , it is a huge cast iron pot that was used for animal feed to be boiled in . It has two lugs to suspend it over a fire ! So it is full of character as well as water !

Good morning everyone from a bright and sunny Torbay, not much going on for me today, just the usual housework etc.
Enjoy the day everyone x

Sar53 Wed 02-Sept-20 07:20:50

Good morning everyone from a sunny Essex by the sea. Yesterday was a lovely day , hope today is the same.
I have a meeting with our accountant at 11 to sign off our first year's accounts. A parcel I am expecting is due between 11.16and 12.16, how bizarre. I must make sure DH listens out for it.
No other plans at the moment.
I had a long chat with DD1 last night about 11 year old DGD being incredibly anxious about starting secondary school tomorrow. She is terrified that no one will like her and that she will be left on her own. She has always struggled with making friends. I will send her a message today and hope all goes well tomorrow.
Have a lovely Wednesday and stay safe xx

Early start today as DH's car is in for a service and MOT. Our new cleaner will be here when we get back then I am doing a Zoom Carer's course.

I think a sit down might be in order this afternoon.

Have a good day all.

Good morning Mick and all

Hoping for a better day today. Didn’t make Adventure Island with GS yesterday, he had been up all night coughing and very hot. DD rang 119 at 9 am got a 12noon drive through test slot in Southend and expecting results anytime now. We FaceTimed him as he was waiting in car and he looked so worried, FaceTimed immediately after and the poor lamb was so upset it’s rather invasive and frightening for a 5 yr old.

Do we are in limbo until the results come in as we spent time with them last week. I do hope it’s negative as he is desperate to get back to school, and I am worried for the rest of the family and us.

Keep safe and well folks, be careful ?‍♀️

Good morning from Shropshire.

Hair cut and colour this morning so obviously rain is forecast?happens every time! This afternoon we are going to collect DGD for a sleepover, the last one before she starts school on Friday.

Our two and a half year old DGS starts nursery today?he had started going for two trial sessions a week before lockdown so I really hope he settles back in again.DD has been walking past the nursery with him and he waves and seems happy enough but today will be his first full day so??

I feel for your DGD Sar but am sure she will be ok.My elder daughter was always worried about making friends but always found a couple of similar girls and formed good friendships.

Have a good day all and?to all our absent posters.Hope you will all feel up to posting again soon.

Good morning everyone from a grey and quite windy Inverness. Yesterday was a lovely sunny day, I spent most of it weeding the garden as the weeds have been flourishing whilst I was away.
No plans yet for today, my local gym that was due to reopen this week has closed permanently so I’ll need to have a rethink about what to do. I’ve been doing some online dance and fitness classes which I quite enjoy, but I need something else to keep me busy!
Hoping all goes well for your DGD Sar53 and her anxiety eases, it’s such a big step starting secondary school
Fingers crossed the test is negative granygravy and your DGS feels much better soon
Hope everyone finds something to enjoy today and take care whatever the day brings ?

brook2704 Wed 02-Sept-20 07:41:59

Sun’s up here! ?
Good morning everyone from Malaga where it’s definitely autumnal first thing in a morning now. It’s slightly damp. There’s a strong smell of pine from the trees (lovely) which is always more noticeable when the warmth of the sun rests on them.

The sky is a wash of pale pink against the blue of the Mediterranean. We shall be back down there next week now the vacations for the Spanish are over. That said it will be strange to see all the hotels closed. So many locals are worrying about work prospects, sometimes not for themselves as such but for family workers who do seasonal jobs.

Yesterday with my ladies was a hoot! There were 7 of us - all the others live out here permanently. 2 live up in the campo and said August was unbearable as it’s so much hotter than down here on the coast. I’d melt!

Gardens for us today. Just chill out.

Our daughter teaches and went back to full time work yesterday. Our grandson goes back to his school next Monday so he and his sister are with their lovely childminder. They love her and she them which is wonderful.

Hope Wednesday is good to us all. Keep safe everyone that’s the main thing. x
