Good Morning Everyone,
Its a red sky but cloudy and dry at the moment here in Brackley this morning.
Intend to get flowers for graves this morning , which means a bus journey ,and then an easy day in watching the Tour de France on TV , yet Brits in another cycle race in in Italy for under 23`s seem to fairing better .
Take Care ,
Mick

Good morning from another very annoyed Glaswegian.
A hand full of selfish imbeciles have now disrupted the, lives of so many? I am still in Perthshire and initially worried I would not be allowed to go home tomorrow but thankfully that is not the case. It does mean though that our plans to celebrate DD1’s 45th birthday at ours on Friday is now cancelled?. And here we find ourselves again Marydoll?‍♀️ Take care and stay safe ?

Many congratulations on your 59th wedding anniversary Auntieflo. Marriage is never plain sailing but braving the storm together gets us through. Enjoy happy memories of the day you first met and were wed. ??

Good news Gg13 Phew!

Yet again I am at the tail end of our lovely GM thread and although I have read every post,my now dreadful memory can’t remember all that was said. ?

I wish everyone a pleasant day ahead with kind wishes for those not in such a good place today.

I, like many others, read the Good Morning thread but haven't posted often recently as I have been coping with various things going on in my life but have popped on this morning to say I immediately thought of Marydoll when the news of the lockdown in her area was announced. I am at a bit of a loss at the type of lockdown which at the moment is restricted to house visits only. It means you will be unable to have any relatives visiting in your home but can pop down to a pub or cafe and meet up there! A major feature of lockdown has been the confusing guidance which I think has led to many flouting and interpreting the rules to suit themselves and it seems to really penalise those who have carried out the rules to the letter and will continue to do so. Congratulations to Auntieflo - 59 is a big number when it comes to wedding anniversaries - well done!!

Marydoll Wed 02-Sept-20 12:37:56

It is selfish people who are responsible here Kalu. It's also now in a few schools. I have a local Covid tracker and the health board are stressing it is not school based, but it is happening in social gatherings inside people's homes.
Do people think they are exempt from the rules?

Yesterday in the supermarket, a woman sans mask, pushed right past me, as I was using the sanitiser.
The security guard rightly made her go back outside and queue like all the rest of the people following the rules.?
No wonder we are back in this mess with entitled people like that.

Just popped back on this thread to catch up with news and to wish a very Happy Anniversary to auntieflo ! ???
Also marydoll and kalu I feel your pain!! How frustrating and annoying it must be to be back in lockdown and having to cancel plans. Please take care though as it’s clear the virus is still spreading out there .. hope the restrictions can be lifted before too long

Doodle Wed 02-Sept-20 13:31:46

Marydoll so sorry you are back in lockdown. You must have been so looking forward to a meal out. Hope you and your DGD stay safe.
Auntieflo don’t be embarrassed. 59 years is a jolly good anniversary to celebrate. Congratulations to you both.

How lovely Auntieflo - many congratulations on your 69th. Today is the 26th anniversary of my DH's death. We'd have been married 54 years, if only that lorry driver had been paying attention. But lots of lovely memories, three children and five grandchildren to be thankful for.

Confusedagain Wed 02-Sept-20 14:19:55

This thread is so calming just what I need. So different from many of threads on here that I am unfortunately too sensitive to post anything on.

Taichinan Wed 02-Sept-20 14:38:24

confusedagain this is the loveliest thread. Like you I was a bit wary at first but now I spend far too much time in it!! Marydoll and Kalu my DS1 is in the same boat as you in Clydebank and is fuming about the idiots who have caused this. Unfortunately those same idiots, unable now to meet in each other's houses, will be off down the pub to misbehave there. The lunatics are in charge of the madhouse right enough! There will always be someone to spoil it for the rest of us. And finally, someone (sorry, can't remember the poster's name mentioned "being in a right boorach". Haven't heard that expression for years, and I bet it bamboozled a few Sassenachs in here!! ?

Jamie Wed 02-Sept-20 15:52:22

Happy Anniversary to the Auntieflo's. Wishing you many sunny days together.

mrshat Wed 02-Sept-20 16:28:26

Happy Anniversary AuntieFlo. It's 49 years here yesterday!! Also some anxiety, like others on here, as eldest DGD is off to start secondary school tomorrow after a difficult time in primary school being 'picked on'! So fingers crossed the new start will be a good one for her. Keep safe and well everyone.

Kalu Wed 02-Sept-20 16:48:34

The lunatics are indeed running the asylum Taichnan. Sorry to hear your DS 1 is also suffering due to these selfish individuals. Despite the fact we are told daily, never forget, the virus is still out there Brook, it appears there are imbeciles out there who must think they are immune?‍♀️ At the moment our restrictions are, no visiting others in their home for 2 weeks. Let’s hope everyone gets the message this time. Sigh!
Should I go in to any Supermarket now Marydoll and see anyone sans mask, I will cause such a stink asking why this is being allowed. Those who are unable to wear a mask, I do feel, could manage to wear a visor.

Rant over. What was it you said about this being a calming thread again Confusedagain ?

Grandmafrench
Sasha hasn’t had a thyroid test as yet, age is non done strong steroids at the moment which seem to be working a treat, typical, she can only take them for a short period. I am starting her on her new chicken and rice diet after the weekend that you suggested. I have also noted that if she is at the factory it is a bit worse so she will be working from home for the next month to see if it may be some dust at the factory. Who knows!!!

I've just had an evening stroll through this lovely thread. It's morning somewhere.
Well done and congratulations on your wedding anniversary Auntieflo that is quite something.
I'm not sure it is just the covidiots Marydoll and Kalu who have caused the Glasgow lockdown. Isn't it partly the schools going back? We've had a few cases tested positive here this week amongst primary school pupils.
It isn't the virus that moves about. It's the people who move.
At least some of us are quite used to staying in. sad
