Good Morning Everyone,
Its a red sky but cloudy and dry at the moment here in Brackley this morning.
Intend to get flowers for graves this morning , which means a bus journey ,and then an easy day in watching the Tour de France on TV , yet Brits in another cycle race in in Italy for under 23`s seem to fairing better .
Take Care ,
Mick

Good Morning everyone. Can’t describe the weather here as anything other than ‘divine’ ..... so won’t.

Two lovely ‘life’ celebrations - many Congrats to Auntieflo enjoy and celebrate such a special day together. And, how wonderful to have two friends for life Gingster - what a comfort your shared experiences must be.

Sorry that the return to school and a more normal routine brings the worry of the Virus closer to many. It’s not good to have jangling nerves whilst waiting for test results of any kind and it looks as if there are going to be quite a few ups and downs with fears in families everywhere in the coming months. Marydoll I bet it’s getting as if you don’t know if you’re coming or going in Glasgow!

Plenty of Virus to stress about here in ?? but yesterday we actually had some wonderful news. After 2 years and too much treatment, we watched the computerized blood testing machine at our Vet’s come up with the answer to our dog’s skin problems. He has a very under active Thyroid! Hurrah! I don’t want him to have anything wrong with him, but I certainly don’t want him to have permanent undiagnosed illness. He now starts his 2 pills a day (for life) with a review as to dosage after 4 weeks. What a relief! Scentia your pooch seemingly has more symptoms - has she had the test?

What a nice change for you to get to M&S, Ellan. Their struggling figures will hopefully be improved by their deal with Ocado, but it won’t stop the 6,000 odd staff redundancies about to happen due to their losing their way, clothes-wise, and then..... Covid. Probably you can’t go wrong with food so it may see an upturn for them - and everyone else does home deliveries. Wonder why it never occurred to them before? Have you made room in your store cupboard to accommodate all the stuff on The List? ?

Wishing you all a good day, whatever you’re doing - or not doing. Remember it’s YOUR life, so kick back and be determined to enjoy whatever you can.

Warm wishes to those with struggles - hope you can benefit from the support on this great Thread.

Hugs as always from ?????????

Marydoll so sad to see you are back in lockdown !
Selfish or thoughtless people have a lot to answer for !

CherryCezzy Wed 02-Sept-20 09:47:11

Marydoll I had to pop back. I saw the report about your area on TV last night and immediately thought of you. It's so unfair that some have spoilt it for so many and you have been forced back into shielding ?

GrannyGravy13 Wed 02-Sept-20 09:48:49

Happy Anniversary Auntieflo 69 years ???

GrannyGravy13 Wed 02-Sept-20 09:50:23

Sar53 I do hope your DGD finds a kindred spirit at her new school today, I feel that there will be lots of very nervous children this term after the last six months of living with Covid.

GrannyGravy13 Wed 02-Sept-20 09:51:59

Keep yourself safe Marydoll it is frustrating for you but necessary ?

Nannytopsy Wed 02-Sept-20 09:57:22

Good morning everyone - a bit late today.
Suffolk is cloudless at the moment and feels lovely and fresh. A definite touch of Autumn. It’s perhaps my favourite time of the year.
I thought of you Marydoll when the news came on yesterday evening. Thank goodness your daughter’s wedding had sneaked in before this happened.
Good news for your grandson GG13- our lot have had a few tests and it is always a worry.
Off into the garden to create a path today - well start to create a path!
I hope the day is kind to everyone.

Good morning Mick and all from an Angus coast which has reverted to grey and cold. Yesterday morning was glorious and I sat outside in the sunshine while I sorted the tai chi people into smaller groups. Now for the phoning and e-mailing! Aggie what a clever idea for a water feature! So glad to hear your DGS's test was negative Grannygravy and hope he's feeling better already. And Sar I hope your DGD settles into her new school happily. It's such a daunting prospect for her, bless her. Now I must away and man the phones. Have a good day all and I shall pop back in here again later to catch up with all I have missed. ???

EllanVannin Wed 02-Sept-20 10:08:43

How lovely to hear of a 69th Anniversary AuntyFlo. Many congratulations to you both, that's some going flowers xx

Urmstongran Wed 02-Sept-20 10:08:58

I can feel your disappointment from here Marydoll. I’d be dispirited too having to cancel your much longed for Italian lunch. I read yesterday of a Scottish lass from Ayr who totally disregarded any kind of quarantine - she had Covid herself yet partied in numerous towns over Scotland and has been dubbed a ‘superspreader’.

Some people are just so selfish aren’t they?

Feelingmyage55 Wed 02-Sept-20 10:10:43

Good morning from a cool, grey and breezy north of Scotland. Washing is out and supper prepared in advance. I was going to say tea but that might cause confusion. I still call the 5.30 meal tea. I am doing some sorting out of the “stuff” stored here by our grown up children and annoying them by sending photos of their treasure —junk— that I am storing. I am therefore in a right boorach.
auntieflo. I am in awe. Have a wonderful day.
marydoll. My visit to Glasgow seems permanently on hold but nothing compared to what you are enduring.

Auntieflo Wed 02-Sept-20 10:14:04

First of all, I have to admit to fat finger syndrome.

Our wedding anniversary is 59years ( not 69)
Oh my now I feel such a fraud.

Apologies to all. blush

grandMattie Wed 02-Sept-20 10:15:03

Happy anniversary auntieflo. Gosh 69 years, congratulations ?????

EllanVannin Wed 02-Sept-20 10:15:09

Thought of you Marydoll when I saw the news and thought " not again ", you'll be back to where you started.

If things don't improve here there'll be another lockdown. As if things weren't bad enough a ward at the local hospital had to be closed because of the Legionella bacteria----it's all we want !

lovebeigecardigans1955 Wed 02-Sept-20 10:18:42

Morning all, went first to the 'other' Wednesday thread by mistake. Just a quick post and run this morning as I've got a hairdressing appointment at 11.00 am, thank goodness.

The sun is shining in South Notts and I'm hoping it's as warm as it looks when I step out.

Hope all is well without everyone especially those with illness or worries.

Grandmafrench Wed 02-Sept-20 10:26:10

Ooh Auntieflo you are awful.....but we do like you! ?

Urmstongran Wed 02-Sept-20 10:27:20

Oh Auntieflo that made me giggle! Congratulations to you how ever many years!

Maybe it just seems like 69y! (some days) Joke.
?????

EllanVannin Wed 02-Sept-20 10:35:59

Even 59 is good going AuntyFlo. x Well done. What marks a 60 th ?

Harris27 Wed 02-Sept-20 10:44:58

Good morning from a beautiful sunny north east. Off to work soon and youngest grandson off to school for the first time since March. He’s looking forward to it and I hope for him a bit of normality. I’m off to work soon but just had to have a quick look at your posts. Have a good day everyone.

Georgesgran Wed 02-Sept-20 10:49:19

Good Morning from a grey Durham. Friend’s move was a disaster yesterday with the keys to her new house not being available until after 4pm. Her possessions were loaded and outside the new house from lunchtime - so, when the keys materialized, a frantic emptying of the removal van - most into her garage - by a huge team, drafted in by the removal company to help.

On the plus side, she’s away from an unhealthy/unhappy marriage and has the rest of her life to make this her home. She thought she might be emotional, leaving her home after 40 years, but says she drove away, without a backward glance.

Washing to do, places to go.
Have a safe day, whatever you get up to. X

annsixty Wed 02-Sept-20 10:52:18

Good morning all.
I do read every morning even though I don't post and I guessed Auntyflo may have pressed the wrong number.
It was the going awsy bit that gave it away, you would be very sprightly to be going away in your 90's, although...
Nothing to report here , we come out of special measures here in Stockport today so can sympathise with Marydoll going into them.

gillgran Wed 02-Sept-20 10:53:26

Good Morning all from sunny Harrogate. Got a bit of baking to to this morning, then ironing and finally two friends coming round to hopefully sit in the garden this pm. Haven't seen them for a good few weeks. Yesterday I discovered I'd lost my purse and bus pass!!! Phones a few shops I' been in and lo! I'd left in n Holland and Barratt. Bless the staff, they held it for me to go in yesterday afternoon to pick it up!!

Hope all are well.
