Good Morning Everyone,
Its a dull and grey start here in Brackley with some overnight rain as well.
My usual day out going via Buckingham to To Bicester , there is a new bus on the Bicester to Brackley service which gives next stop display and announcements, this type is not new to me as about 10 years first experience of those type of buses was in London ,and more recently in Harrogate .
Take Care ,
Mick

Good morning from a dull E Kent. Last night there was a big storm that went right round us - not a drop of rain. Again!
I like the buses with displays, Mick, especially when I'm in unknown areas.
Nothing at all today - just some sewing, to keep me out of mischief.
Yesterday I had hoped for a day to myself. Ha! Put the 4 loads of washing on the line, then after about 2 hours decided that there wasn't enough sun or wind to dry it, so took it all off again...
The day seemed to drag on and on without me being able to do what I wanted.
Of course, TdF has started so I can't sit on the sofa and have a snooze in the afternoon, but have to go somewhere else.
Forgot my DD's wedding anniversady again; I'm hopeless. SiL has a bet with himself as to whether I'll remeber that and his birthday. I do, but too late as usual.
Have a good day - Marydoll, I hope the injections don't upset your system too much and are worth it in the end.
Our neighbour opposite, has taken to renting out the house every weekend, it's big and has a hot tub. We have become curtain twitchers to see what sort of people and how many [up to 8] come. Great fun! Wonder what will happen this weekend, now that school has started. Mind you, naturally their teenagers go to very fancy public schools.
Keep safe everyone and have a contented day.

Good Morning everyone from a wet, grey and dull looking Severnside.

I planned a few loads of washing but it’ll have to wait for another day. I’ll finish what I started yesterday, have a look through some admin and then run an errand or two. I might even tidy up the house. There are a few things lurking about that should be put back in their homes.

Thinking of you all and hope you have a pleasant day ?

Scentia Thu 03-Sep-20 06:48:23

Good Morning all from East Staffordshire. So much rain in the night it will be muddy on my dog walk today.
Just as I said about the absence of brits in the TDF Mick it seems a Brit is in the yellow jersey!! I’ve never heard of him and DH was trying to tell me a story about him but I switched off? DH is taking delivery of his Zwift today so he may join them on today’s stage!!
Today I am at the factory and then at the children’s home for two days over the weekend. I have finally got round online shopping and have my first order arriving tonight from Sainsbury’s. My DD sorted me some pass thing on the website and I can order now, it was a bit difficult navigating the site but I will get used to it. Anything is better than a mask.
Take care everyone and stay safe.

mumofmadboys Thu 03-Sep-20 06:49:38

Good morning all from Drymen, north of Glasgow. Walked the first day of the West Highland Way yesterday. A gentle 13 miles but it rained incessantly! Hope today the rain will be less. Thinking of you Marydoll as you continue with your treatment. Have a good day everyone.

Morning Mick, morning All from a damp, gloomy corner of Somerset. Another wait and see day here other than I must finish tomorrow’s on line grocery order. We’re clicking and collecting this week, easy to please soul that I am there is huge satisfaction in seeing a trolley of food I didn’t have to walk round gathering. Take care everyone, special thought to those with health or other mountains to climb.

Nannytopsy Thu 03-Sep-20 07:10:14

Good morning Mick and all his followers. It is pouring with rain in Suffolk after more rain during the night. I won’t be gardening then, so housework it is. DGS is back at school this morning for the first time since this all began and we have been asked to pick him up this afternoon. He is a bit apprehensive I think.
I hope you have the best day possible

Nortsat Thu 03-Sep-20 07:18:29

Good morning Mick and the GM team from a cool east London.
Butchers delivery for us today and I will cook chicken for supper.

I have just heard that a friend, who is a musician has had an accident and broken her jaw. Have to think hard about a cheering present for her (presumably nothing edible...).

Any GNs who like Baroque music? Can I suggest the Prom concert on BBC4 this evening at 7.30pm, with virtuoso violinists Nicola Benedetti and Alina Ibragimova, performing works by Handel, Vivaldi and JS Bach. I have met Nicola several times and heard her play and her performances are magical.
We’ll be watching with a glass of wine in hand (on a non wine night!)

Momb hope the rain holds off for you, have a lovely day.
Scentia I hope your first online order works well. I highly recommend it.
Good wishes to Dragonfly, Bluesapphire and those facing challenges today. Have a good day, all. ?

Good morning everyone from a grey Essex by the sea.
I've been up since 5.45, cramp again in my lower leg. Some night's I wear bed socks to keep my feet warm.
I've done a big load of ironing already today as I have to take DH to the hospital for a blood test and find somewhere to wait whilst he is in there.
He has, hopefully, his last 6 monthly checkup with his Oncologist by phone on Tuesday. He has been 4 1/2 years in remission so from now on should be yearly checkup.
No plans for this afternoon, probably watch another episode of The Crown, I've nearly finished series 3.
Have a pleasant Thursday and stay safe xx

kittylester Thu 03-Sep-20 07:24:01

Morning all from a soggy North Leicestershire. We had lots of rain over night.

Busy day ahead today! I have to do a quick trip to Waitrose as Wolfie and his mummy are coming and so is the oven cleaner! So, ready made sandwiches it is then.

DH is doing his driving today and it is, theoretically, our turn to host our weekly neighbours drinks in the garden.

We have become curtain twitches too, gm as the house next door to us has been empty since February but it looks likely to be going on the market soon. We share a drive with that house so it matters!

Sending best wishes to all.

Good morning everyone it’s dull and dreich here on the east coast of Fife me and my dh are thinking of going for a leisurely brunch to our local farm shop and cafe today. Hopefully this will break up the boredom of the daily grind. I like a wander around the shop which in fact my husband hates because I’m brilliant at filling the basket full of goodies.have a good day everyone keep safe. smile

GrannyGravy13 Thu 03-Sep-20 07:25:48

Good morning Mick and all

It is very grey here in S E Essex, I haven’t got out of bed to see if it’s been raining.

Bed change today, washing and ironing - how exciting!!!!

Keep safe and well folks ?‍♀️

brook2704 Thu 03-Sep-20 07:26:19

Good morning everyone from a dry Inverness with a bit of blue sky peeping through the clouds. Yesterday was quite warm but cloudy most of the day so it’s good to see the sun again this morning.
Nothing much planned for today yet but I’ll see if DH fancies a walk somewhere this afternoon - with a good coffee stop fitted in somewhere too
Well done completing your first day of walking momb hope it stops raining today!
Good on you scentia for getting going on the online shopping ?
Have a good day everyone and take care whatever the day brings ?

Urmstongran Thu 03-Sep-20 07:32:17

Sun’s up here! ?
Good morning everyone from Malaga where it’s a beautiful morning ?

Just enjoying my first cuppa of the day. I’ve stripped the beds and the washer is on. Himself thinks as the mornings are a bit cooler again first thing, as they were in May, he might go back to his brisk walks soon. I’ll be with him in spirit.

Must choose and load up a new book for my Kindle today. I just re-read ‘Stoner’ a novel published by Vintage by John Williams. A poignant and lovely read. Great characterisations and totally absorbing even the second time around. In fact I’d forgotten some of the ending which was sad.

Bet you’ve developed webbed feet momb! Hope you get a drier day today.

We ate Nelly’s home made lasagna last night in El Corner bar so delicious. Must eat less today (good intentions ... the road to Hell is paved with them I believe).

Hope Thursday is good to us all. Keep safe everyone that’s the main thing. x

Urmstongran Thu 03-Sep-20 07:35:27

I ❤️ farm shops too Elizabeth1 bet you have a fabulous brunch!

Gingster Thu 03-Sep-20 07:37:30

Good morning from a drizzly Essex. I can’t believe only 3 weeks ago we were having a heatwave. Last night was chilly and I put my electric blanket on.! ?.

I’m off on a train today ? just for a short journey to my friends for lunch. I feel ok about it , so it will be interesting to see how it pans out.

Yesterday, as DH and I were pulling bindweed down (it seems to have taken over a whole side of the garden) I looked up the drive to see my friend standing there armed with gifts. In she came and we had a lovely 2 and a half hour chat. DH went out !??. The gifts were for my 70th which was back in July but we hadn’t been able to meet up. What an unexpected pleasure!

mumofmadboys well done on your mammoth walk. 13 miles! That really is a feat! Especially in the rain. Are you walking again today?

Have a painfree, gentle, and stress free day all. ?

Grandmabatty Thu 03-Sep-20 07:49:23

Good morning All. Grey and breezy in Polmont this morning. I'm babysitting this morning so I was rudely awoken by the alarm, a rare thing as I'm usually awake but not this morning. I had been up for painkillers in the night as my foot was gowping. Good Scots word! So I suppose that's why I slept so deeply. Momb I am in awe of anyone doing the West Highland way. My son did it a couple of years ago. scentia once you start online food shopping, you won't want to stop. Apart from babysitting, I have a quiet day planned. Yesterday I visited mum who was on her best behaviour, then called in to a friend for coffee. She's lost her mum and selling the family home, so is a bit sad just now. Then a WhatsApp chat in the afternoon with other friends so it was a social day for me. Have a good day all.

Good morning all from Perthshire where if I look left we have blue skies, look right, it’s grey but looks to be breaking up which means a pleasant drive home later.

My neighbour had some shopping to do in Perth yesterday and it was decided her dog would spend some time with me. Rory, a black lab., knows me so well and readily made himself at home. It was lovely having a dog around the house again.

A walk from Milngavie to Drymen is quite a feat Momb. Hope the weather is favourable for the next part of your journey.

I read your good news late yesterday Cherry What a relief for you. It must have been an anxious time for you but I am pleased to hear you got the all clear for another year. Good health until your next appointment.

What a disappointment you’re supermarket visit was yesterday Marydoll. The best part of going there is a mooch around the clothing and home depts.?

Not much to do here so I will pack up, do a quick tidy, and head home at sometime early afternoon which will be a pleasant drive now as the sun has now broken through.

My best wishes for a pleasant day all.

Jaxjacky Thu 03-Sep-20 07:54:11

Good morning Mick and all from a grey, damp S Hants, quiet day today and DH not working. Was going to cut the front grass but too wet and I think the tomatoes, looking very sad, are near their end. DD back to school today where she works, two inset days, looks like we may have GC’s tomorrow, they are fully aware of distancing and no bother.
I still feel restrained in what we do, I’m not quite sure what I want to do that I can’t though!! most peculiar...Stay safe and enjoy your Thursday all.

Susan56 Thu 03-Sep-20 07:59:54

Good morning from Shropshire.

DGD stayed overnight and today we are going for a girls day with DD before DGD starts school tomorrow.I had said I would buy her out of school shoes as she isn’t overly impressed with her black school shoes. She has requested mermaid rainbow shoes so we’ll see what we can find.

Hope you are ok gilly?

Have a good day all what ever you have planned.Sending good wishes to all our absent good morningers.

Pittcity Thu 03-Sep-20 08:00:40

Good morning from a grey, humid Colchester. I am usually woken by the dustmen on a Thursday, but this morning it was DPD at 7am......
DH left to go fishing at stupid o' clock and I had gone back to sleep.
It seems to be washing day on GN, so I have a load on. It'll be hung in the spare room if the forecasted rain arrives.

Marydoll Thu 03-Sep-20 08:05:01

Good morning all from a very damp Glasgow. I thought of you yesterday, MOBB when we had so much torrential rain. Is it Drymen to Rowardennan today? I hope the weather picks up, so that you can enjoy the beautiful scenery.

Mick that type of bus is a godsend when we are in Rome. Last year we went to visit the only Catacombs we hadn't seen, on the other side of Rome and counted forty two bus stops, before we reached them. I was starting to panic, thinking we were lost!

Grandmattie, it was a delivery of injections I was getting yesterday. They cost £10,000 per year and are delivered every 8 weeks in an armoured van. ?
I must have done the injection properly on Monday, as I have felt rubbish ever since. ?
On a positive note, the side effects appear to be lessening. ☺️

The plan today is to make the tablet for my friend's son's wedding on Saturday. My trip to Sainsbury's was to get sugar, I forgot! DD kindly arrived last night with it, as my family don't want me out and about at the moment. She said that people are clearing the shelves in the supermarket again.☹️
We are all on tenterhooks about the wedding being allowed to go ahead.
Instead of numbers going down here, they are rising and now cases have been confirmed at the tip in the neighbouring town. It's really worrying.

As my wee DDG is now at school, my son has decided we can have no contact with her to keep me safe. He was just beginning to talk to us again after his refusal to come to the wedding and haven't seen her.? I'm finding it all very difficult.

I spent ages yesterday looking for a quirky chest of drawers for my craft room, found one I loved, but it was just too wide for it's corner.? Back to the drawing board today.

Thinking as always of all who are struggling and for anyone with a special celebration today, enjoy!

MellowYellow Thu 03-Sep-20 08:11:43

Morning everyone, it's drizzly in my corner of south Cornwall. Nortsat Baroque is my very favourite so thanks for the info, I'd have missed it otherwise. 'Talking' bus displays were introduced here a while back Mick and it tickles me that they have a proper Cornish accent (no disrepect meant, I'm Cornish born and bred).

No small children today. When it was time to go home last night they complained in tandem! grin Got a free Costa coffee via my mobile phone provider to enjoy today. Otherwise a lovely peaceful crafting day methinks. The best of days to you all.

Grammaretto Thu 03-Sep-20 08:14:42

Good morning all from the Scottish Borders. Clear today but wet after such a heavy downpour yesterday. The grass didn't get cut.
momb I feel for you. I walked some of the WHW in beautiful sunshine 30 years ago. I'd have given up if it had been too wet.
Those new buses Mick are better although there's nothing like asking out loud for getting the locals to give you instructions.
Nice to see Elizabeth1 posting.
Have a good Thursday everyone.

Kalu Thu 03-Sep-20 08:23:52

Baroque fan here Nortsat and I agree Nicola Benedetti’s playing is a joy to listen to. At one concert in Edinburgh, she introduced her sister to perform with her and their chosen piece was Gardel’s Por Una Cabeza. If you like classical tango music, Astor Piazolla has composed what I enjoy listening to and something you may enjoy too. I hope your friend recovers quickly.
