I'm distraught! ?

You could always do a Heston Blumenthal Phoenix and turn it into ice cream for next time ?

Made some honeycomb ice cream last time DD and her girls were here, didn't last long!

Pants and Nortsat you know me too well

Doodle Chicken stock reminds me, I took frozen soup to work years ago for lunch...when defrosted, was chicken stock!

My mother once gave me a tin of soup for lunch that had lost its label. It was rice pudding ?

You will definitely need counselling for that trauma, phoenix!

I felt the same when the bar of Fruit and Nut I could have sworn was still lurking in my bag, had vanished.
Even worse to have forgotten that I’d eaten it!

I have resisted the temptation to go to the village shop to buy any.

It is now closed.

It opens at 9am tomorrow. I will be there, and may cry if they don't have any honeycomb.I

Witzend that is doubly traumatic! A bit like when Mr P are a could onion bahji from the fridge, and left the plate in there

My ex husband did the same with a cold sausage. I drove all the way to Bradworthy to collect a part for his motorbike, sustained by the thought of enjoying a cold sausage when I returned home, only to have my dreams dashed

Damn auto correct! "Ate a cold"

I've got 2 boxes of Tesco chocolate and mint lollies and a box of Magnum salted caramel lollies in my freezer. Delivered last night. A total of 10 lollies. I'm set up now for a week.

Sharon103 have you tried the Lidl version of salted caramel cornettos? Very good!

Not having a sweet tooth I would have been happy with the lentil soup, phoenix but I only have marrow curry as a swap!!

Reminds me of the time many years ago when we invited friends back home after a fireworks 'do' in the village. It was a freezing cold night so while DH poured the drinks.....and then more drinks, I rummaged in the freezer for my delicious, home made leek and potato soup.

After another round of drinks we eagerly sat down to steaming bowls of.....stewed apple!

Oh no! Lentil soup really doesn't hit the spot, does it? You must be off to M&S first thing for Percy Pig ice cream in that nice big bucket. Or white chocolate with raspberry, mmm.

Oh dear, never mind. When it comes to ice cream it has to be Mackies for me.....divine. Also when at the cinema, ( you remember that yes) we would always have Ben & Jerry's Cherry Garcia as you can only get it there. Do miss the cinema and Cherry Garcia

I think not! Our nearest M&S is about a 45 minute drive away, at least!

I will stick with the locally made ice cream, sold at the village shop!

merlot

Only thing to do under those circumstances, pour more drinks!

Oh dear, poor you.

This is the best reason I have ever heard for labelling things clearly before they go into the freezer, or using ice-cream tubs for something else.

I collect seeds for next year's herbacious border and store them in ice-cream tubs, which then go in a carrier bag among the gardening tools.

Oh I feel your disappointment Phoenix! A quick recommendation for anyone who likes a Magnum ( Almond are my favourite), the aldi copies are indistinguishable from the original and at 99p for 4 are considerably cheaper. Spotted the real thing reduced in Tesco yesterday at £2.65 for 4. May not seem much but when there are eaten at the rate they have been in this house this summer.......I am however, just off out to buy a crunchie as the talk of honeycombe has made me crave one.

Ohhhhhhhh that's funny hahahahahahahahahaha... well obviously not to you, but the way you explained it hahahahahahahahaha.....

I will stick with the locally made ice cream, sold at the village shop
Locally made ice cream is best!

Although a Magnum comes close second.

I think some local firms producing icecream and other dairy products are really struggling at the moment so support your local businesses, buy locally produced food!

No I haven't tried them phoenix. I love cornetto's as well.
I'll have to try them when I next go in. Thanks very much I often wonder what eating all this fat will do to me but I'm addicted to ice-cream and lollies.
