Good Morning Everyone,
Its dull grey start here in Brackley this morning , but it remains dry.
Usual Sunday for me small shop later , and then have lunch before settling down to watch the Tour De France stage .
Yesterday, the dealer was at the flea market who I have dealt with but still had not got what I was after .
Take Care ,
Mick

Good morning Mick, Annie and all, from a dullish Berks. I think that the sun is trying to peep through, hope so.
We are off to Church this morning, and it will be very different, but so lovely to be able to return. Even though we must not mingle with friends before and after, it will be comforting to just see everyone who manages to come.
Then this afternoon, we are having our very delayed treat of Afternoon Tea at a local hotel. I am looking forward to that.
GrandMattie, your quilt is beautiful, well done.
Your trip to the saturday market was productive NanKate, sounds fun.
Oh and sloes NannyTopsy, how lovely.
MaryDoll I saw another upcycled chest of drawers yesterday, in a local charity shop. It had been so cleverly painted and I now have ideas running round my head about doing the two in our bedroom. The colours were just me!
Still concerned about our Gilly. Do hope she is OK.
Have a good day one and all.

Xd posts Lins I can imagine your joy with the new puppy! Too cute. They sleep a bit extra at that tender age ... a bit of playfulness and they’re exhausted! Bit like me really ...

Jaxjacky Sun 06-Sept-20 08:24:21

Good morning all from a sunny S Hants, looks like I too will have to ditch the jumpers, we have 23/24 forecast here early next week! Vagaries of the weather, will have to water the veg plot this evening and should cut the front grass. Missed not having a paper yesterday, it’s a Saturday treat, Sunday’s is not the same. Watched a film last night, The Upside, very enjoyable, shame terrestrial TV is so bad on Saturdays.
Have a lovely day all.

Goodmorning Mick and all...I don't wake up early enough to join the Goodmorning thread, but today, for some reason (I know, Loo call), I'm up.....
Have a nice day! I'm sure, some of you will, under the glorious Spanish/Meditteranean sun ?

Gingster Sun 06-Sept-20 08:30:54

Good morning all and it’s not looking too bad here In Essex.

Picked apples in my DB’s orchard yesterday. The are overwhelmed with the fruit but hate to see it rotting on the ground. They have taken it to farm shops, local churches, neighbours, friends and family but still there is so much. I spent the afternoon peeling, stewing and freezing but haven’t made much of an impact on the 8 bags we brought home. I will take some to my meet-ups with groups this week.

DD and her eldest Dd and youngest DD (18 and 4 respectively) are coming for lunch. Her twin sons (14) will be playing footie, so we will plate up a dinner for them to have later. They will be ravenous! Roast chicken, gammon ham an of course apple crumble for pud.

gramdmattie your quilt is coming along beautifully. So clever!

NanKate what a lovely day you have ahead of you. Enjoy ?

Oh dear Marydoll I know from experience how stressful your day will be with assembling furniture. Keep calm and keep schtum!

Hope everyone has a pleasant and fruitful day ?

What a beautiful quilt that is. I felt I just had to comment on the artistry and skill that must be involved. Just gorgeous.

A quiet day beckons for us today after completing a 10 mile walk yesterday. We often go walking but not normally as far as this. We're planning to do St Cuthbert's Way in stages early next year so training is now underway.

I have plans to create an Autumn Wreath today which I have never done before. I am beginning to get that festive feeling coming over me a little too early this year so will try to curb it by concentrating on Autumn instead. I suppose it's got something to do with the notion of a rather uncertain family Christmas ahead.

Have the best Sunday you can everyone. Love from County Durham.

I can’t seem to get 100 messages. They say the page has moved ?. What’s going on GN?

Pittcity Sun 06-Sept-20 08:38:20

Good morning from a grey skied Colchester. Cloudy but dry with the sun trying to peep through.
Trip to Lidl to buy a Sunday roast and ironing yesterday's washing.
I reported the missing GN link last week along with another problem I had. The second one was solved immediately and my email was answered, so GNHQ are aware.

Pittcity Sun 06-Sept-20 08:41:04

Spoke too soon the problem is back. ?

Good morning,

there’s a little bit of blue in the sky and it’s a little less breezy here at the moment. It’s still dry but the forecast is for showers later.

I’ve not quite ditched the summer clothes for winter just yet, but am tending to add layers as the day goes on! I’m hopeful that next week will give us the last taste of summer, after all it’s not autumn proper until the 21st/22nd September. It’s only the meteorological autumn now, which the weather forecasters use to divide the seasons up into 4 equal sections of 3 months each and they’ve decided the 1st day of those months is the start of each meteorological season. Confusing, eh? ?
Anyway, late summer or early autumn, I’m not putting away all my summer clothes just yet???.

The grass looks ready for another trim, so if it remains dry, that might be a job to do today, otherwise it’s another pottering type of day. Yesterday I potted up my “Barnsley Baby” lavatera plants which arrived on Friday. They have such a pretty pink bloom, I’m already looking forward to seeing them in flower next year.

Well, I do hope that it's a technology hitch that is preventing gilly from posting and that she will be back soon. To all our missing GM’s, I do hope you are all feeling alright, and will be up to posting again soon.

Take care everyone.

Mapleleaf Sun 06-Sept-20 08:46:13

Forgot to add, your quilt is lovely, grandmattie. How clever to be able to produce something so beautiful.

Anniebach Sun 06-Sept-20 08:51:50

Good morning Auntyflo and all x

Susan56 Sun 06-Sept-20 08:53:02

Good morning from Shropshire.

A day at home catching up on laundry and gardening.

We have just started watching the first series of Strike so will watch a couple more episodes tonight.

Hope you and yours are ok gilly?

Thinking of our absent good morningers?

Have a good day all.

Greyduster Sun 06-Sept-20 08:58:11

Good morning, Michael and all GNs. The sun is shining in South Yorkshire at the moment. Not sure what the day will bring today. We were in all afternoon yesterday making elderberry cordial (what a performance!), so I think we need some fresh air at some point. BLT panini for lunch and boeuf stroganoff for supper.
We watched The Upside recently too Jaxjacky - a lovely feel good film. Have a good safe day folks.

grannysyb Sun 06-Sept-20 09:17:12

After a grey start it's sunny here. Off to allotment this morning and sewing this afternoon and then roast chicken tonight. Hoping Gillybob is OK. Have a good day everyone.

CherryCezzy Sun 06-Sept-20 09:22:28

Good morning everyone. A hazy morning here in the Gower.

Plan was to go off for a walk around the coast this morning but my WP has other ideas I think, he's still asleep ?. Still, at least I know we'll have a dinner we'll enjoy later, lovely Welsh lamb chops and poached pears for dessert.

Beautiful patchwork grandMattie. I did attend some classes of couple of years back but the furthest I got was half a glasses case ?. I certainly don't have your skill and dedication.

Marydoll, as somebody else has said earlier, best keep ? with the flat pack construction going on. Good lunch with your Swedish chop.

Shame the flea market stall didn't have what you are looking for Mick, ? for next time.

I really hope gillybob is alright and it's nothing more than a connection blip.

Bellasnana, BlueSapphire and dragonfly you are still in my thoughts. Sending you my best wishes.

Enjoy this Sunday whatever you are doing and stay safe everyone ❤️

brook2704 Sun 06-Sept-20 09:27:28

Good morning everyone from Inverness - a bit of a later start for me this morning as I slept really well last night after another long walk yesterday! But I’m here now, munching on toast and marmalade and catching up on everyone’s plans and news ?
Really hope alls ok with gillybob and she’s back on here very soon?
A sad time for your neighbour urms but brave of her to fly out on her own and go back to the apartment. I hope she is ok
Hoping everyone finds something to enjoy today and take care whatever the day brings ?

Gelisajams Sun 06-Sept-20 09:29:06

Good morning from a bright coolMorecambe Bay.
Lazy day in store today. Zoom church and a click and collect will be the most exciting things happening today. I’ve got a sore eye so am feeling a bit sorry for myself. It kept waking me up during the night. I spoke to the pharmacist yesterday who said just to bathe it with boiled water and it could be a couple of weeks before it goes down. I’m sure many on here have more serious problems. Hopefully not Gilly.
Take care and stay safe everyone ?

Georgesgran Sun 06-Sept-20 09:45:55

Good morning from a dark, drab Durham, where it’s now raining. I knew I should’ve got my washing off the line last night!
What diverse weather we have on this little Island?
No plans today, DD2 popping in later, but expect a short visit with a big bag of dirty laundry (she’s having an extension built, so no access to her machine).

Hope everyone has the best day today and we hear from Gillybob soon. X

dustyangel Sun 06-Sept-20 09:47:47

Good Morning all from sunny Portugal. I don’t often look in but felt the need to this morning and it’s good to “see” you all and that we are all seem to be coping as well as we can in these unusual times. We have had our son in law staying for the last couple of months and as I I said to our visiting physio who asked how that was going “Everyone should have one!” He has been such a godsend to us both. DD1 is coming to join him for their pre-booked holiday before they return to England. Her to working from home again and him to sign on, sad. They both want to retire out here and it will have given them a taste of what living here is like all be it under very unusual conditions.
Happy Sunday everyone. I shall now go a see if Gillybob has looked in. sunshine

Urmstongran Sun 06-Sept-20 09:50:24

I ❤️ your patchwork grandMattie! How clever are you? You must have great patience for such intricate work plus all the mathematics of planning it!

Just to say (for those who may be interested) due to the antics on Friday night of Extinction Rebellion, the Telegraph is available on line today without a paywall - in response to some paper editions not being printed.

MellowYellow Sun 06-Sept-20 10:00:57

Good morning from bright, breezy south Cornwall, later than usual, been watching catchup Gardeners World including a film of foxes jumping through someone's box hedge, fascinating! No small children with me today so will take off on a bus somewhere, maybe Penzance today or St Ives, my favourite, but that will still be too crowded I suspect. Have the best day possible everyone.

Grammaretto Sun 06-Sept-20 10:04:15

Good morning all from the Scottish Borders. Cold here but we are promised a heat wave next week. Take note Kalu before you put your summer dresses in the attic!

I hope the Gillybobs are alright. Thinking of them and others who have vanished lately Dragonfly, Bluesapphire sending warm wishes.

Not a lot planned here. "Staying in" is a full time job. I am grateful to GN for keeping my spirits up keeping me sane
I love to read about your exploits.

EllanVannin Sun 06-Sept-20 10:35:30

Good Morning All x.
Cloudy with a smattering of sun now and again. Rain during the night as it's quite damp under foot as well. Not that it matters as I won't be going anywhere.

A lot of apple crumbles on the go with the surplus of apples on trees or on the ground. I have a few pound of them from a neighbour's D's tree so crumble for me too today and some stewed to go with the chicken today and also to freeze.

That lovely cover reminds me of the huge rag-rugs that an aunty used to make. It's a real art, beautiful.

I enjoyed watching a very old film yesterday " Went the Day Well ", remember it ? Thora Hird was a slip of a young woman in it grin It was a bit of a light-hearted diversion from the norm, although serious too.

A quiet day as usual for Sunday with just a read of the paper and prepare eats later.

I notice we haven't heard from Gilly as yet. Hope she's just having a break and that all's well in the household.x

Thinking of our other missing grans and hoping they're okay.x
Stay safe and well everyone and enjoy your day. xx

mrswoo Sun 06-Sept-20 10:41:56

Good morning from Newcastle where it's cold, wet and generally miserable. Yesterday was very bright and windy - a brilliant washing/drying day. Today is the downside - an enormous pile of ironing to plough through.
What lovely patchwork grandmattie. I am so impressed as I can barely thread a needle!
urmston thank you for your book recommendations, I think we have quite similar taste in books. I shall check out the Margaret Attwood and chances are it will end up on my kindle too. I feel for your neighbour arriving for the first time since being widowed. Brave of her but sad too
I really hope the gillybobs are ok.
Have a good day everyone.
