Good Morning Everyone,
Its dull grey start here in Brackley this morning , but it remains dry.
Usual Sunday for me small shop later , and then have lunch before settling down to watch the Tour De France stage .
Yesterday, the dealer was at the flea market who I have dealt with but still had not got what I was after .
Take Care ,
Mick

Good morning from a bright dry E Kent.
What is it you collect, Mick? Or are they random things? I hope you enjoyed your free coffee.
No paper yesterday, which was bummer. Whatever happened to free speech.
I started to join the patchwork squares. This is half; the other half and the edges yet to finish. End of the week I reckon.
Have a good day y’all.

Good morning Mick & granMattie and all to come.
That quilt is coming together nicely. I have started Christmas items but the garden has got in my way. I must try harder!
We have old friends coming to lunch today which will be a lot of laughter and fun. I found a tree in a hedge yesterday which I thought was sloes but it proved to be damsons. Damson crumble today then! ?
My own little tree had three damsons on it and now is in flower again. I think the weather has confused it.
Have the best day possible everyone.

Cool morning greetings from Spain, Mick and GrandMattie and all who follow- that patchwork looks lovely ? what patience and an eye for detail you must have!

A lazy Sunday for me after my gallivanting last night (Torre del Mar and a most delicious Indian, (The Indus). There’s a quiz this evening and another tomorrow but not sure ? my brain is up to two on the trot!

Hope someone hears from Gillybob (and indeed all our missing peeps) that they’re just having a sabbatical ?. A peaceful day for all x

Morning Pantglas!

Morning Mick, morning All from a confused corner of Somerset. Look out the back and there’s blue sky, from the front it’s grey, low cloud. Hope the blue sky wins. Not a clue what we’ll do today, only two certainties - Mr C will have a bacon sandwich for breakfast and there will be roast chicken and apple pie later. Take care everyone.

Beechnut Sun 06-Sept-20 07:10:04

Good Morning everyone from Severnside where it is dry and cloudy.

Your patchwork looks lovely grandMattie. You’ve more patience than me.

I bought some bulbs yesterday and a plant that I couldn’t resist. I put it in a place still in it’s pot and the blue flowers
looked like they were sparkling in the sunshine. I’ll try and plant them up today and also clear up some cuttings.

Enjoy your Sunday all ?

Good morning Mick and All from a damp Wells. It should brighten up a bit later.

Today we are off to the East Somerset steam train journey. I look forward to looking at the beautiful rolling countryside round here. Back to Evensong at the Cathedral and will finish the day in a recommended Italian restaurant.

I bought a number of really nice items at the Saturday Market. A lovely small shoulder bag for me and 2 further ones for Christmas presents. We bought a colourful glass (I don’t know what you call them, like a mandala) to hang on our front door. A cowl neck top and a navy with stripes on the cuffs and collar zipper jacket. I’m making up for buying virtually nothing during these last few months. Marydoll would have loved the market. Oh DH bought me a necklace for my birthday later this month. My purse is now tightly zipped up ?

Hoping we hear from Gilly today.

NanKate Sun 06-Sept-20 07:26:46

Love your patchwork grandMattie ?

Sar53 Sun 06-Sept-20 07:34:48

Good morning from a bright and sunny Essex by the sea. Another lovely day, long may they last.
DH's grandsons rugby starts again this morning so he will be at the rugby club for a few hours.
I will prepare the vegetables for dinner and probably go out for a walk.
Lots of sport on tv today so that's the afternoon taken care of and Strike is on this evening.
Have a lovely Sunday everyone and stay safe xx

Good morning Mick and the GM team from an overcast east London.

grandMattie your patchwork is beautiful. It’s so satisfying to get to the final stages of a big craft project, isn’t it?
pantglas your gallivanting sounds like fun.

We watched an interesting documentary/film yesterday about the Panama Papers and the massive scale of tax fraud and avoidance which was uncovered, when the papers were leaked.

Bit of housework and gardening for us today.
Steak and salad for supper, so barely any cooking.

Hope we hear from gilly today. Good wishes to Bluesapphire, Dragonfly and all those facing challenges today. Have a pleasant day, all. ?

Kalu Sun 06-Sept-20 07:44:56

Good morning everyone from a calm dry day with the sun peeping through in Glasgow.

Too chilly now to enjoy my morning al fresco espresso and may be time we revisited the plans we had for a conservatory which we keep putting off.

As autumn has arrived I’m sure I won’t have any need for summer clothes so my task today is to pack them away and unpack autumn/winter warmer clothes. Also plan to give myself a pedicure which is becoming more difficult as bending is a killer now. ?

What a beautiful quilt grandMattie. With the sun shining on the squares it has the appearance of stained glass.

I hope everything is ok with you gilly, it’s worrying not to hear from you.

Kind thoughts to all for a pleasant Sunday.

kittylester Sun 06-Sept-20 07:49:26

Morning all from a cloudy North Leicestershire.

A walk and roast chicken are the only definites today.

Love the quilt GM , enjoy your lunch Topsy.

Hope to hear from gilly.

GrannyGravy13 Sun 06-Sept-20 07:50:10

Good morning Mick and all

A mixture of blue sky and clouds here in S E Essex. We are driving to our very dear friends for a socially distanced lunch today, I am so looking forward to catching up in person.

Beautiful patchwork grandMattie

Thinking of all our missing friends, gillybob hope you and your family are ok ???

Keep safe and well folks ?‍♀️

Marydoll Sun 06-Sept-20 07:59:17

Good morning all from a dry and breezy Glasgow, no Season of mists and mellow fruitfulness here, it's quite grey. ?️

A wee note to all. Bluebelle noticed that the Desktop/ Mobile option has disappeared from the bottom of the page, I have reported it.

What a beautiful quilt, Grandmattie, that is a skill, I always wanted to master. I remember my parents had one for years, that my granny made, with an old WW2 army blanket for a base. It was made from scraps of rags, as money was so tight. I used to try and imagine what the wearers of the recycled clothes had looked like.

Well I'm in for a stressful day. The chest of drawers for my craft room, which I ordered on Thursday evening, unexpectedly arrived yesterday morning.
Unfortunately, I thought it was ready assembled, DH will have to disassemble the old one and then assemble the new one!?
Of course, there will be a fair bit of emptying to do first! It will be an opportunity to get rid of my redundant craft stash, as part of my Swedish death clean., ? Happy Sunday!!! ?
At least I prepared the roast beef yesterday. Phew.

I contacted Gilly, but no response. She usually does reply, I hope it there is a simple reason.

Kate, you have to stop teasing me! A market and I'm confined to barracks, yet again. This time next week, I would have been in ectasy, wandering around the massive Portese Market in Rome in the SUN☀️.
I'm glad to hear you are having a lovely break. A steam railway journey, is just the icing on the cake.?

Wishing everyone a pleasant Sunday.

Taichinan Sun 06-Sept-20 08:00:26

Good morning all, and it's another lovely morning on the Angus coast. I think September is one of the loveliest months. What a beautiful quilt grandMattie - you're very talented. Another quiet day for me, just in and around. I've never seen my plum tree so laden with fruit as it is this year, so I may have to harvest and freeze - and sample of course! I hope everyone enjoys their day, and that absent friends pop in here to say they're well. ???

Kalu Sun 06-Sept-20 08:01:04

We are enjoying watching Strike too Sar Tom Burke plays his part so well. Young Wallander is another good watch.

Marydoll Sun 06-Sept-20 08:02:24

* Kalu*, it took me so long to type, that the sun is now peeping trough!
Strike for us too this evening.

NannyJan53 Sun 06-Sept-20 08:04:50

Good Morning from a bright and sunny Black Country, but ominous black clouds are gathering.

Partner is off on a bike ride with his cycling club today, so I am popping over to Mums and have a walk with her.

Then home to pack a few clothes as we are off tomorrow to Forest of Dean for 3 days, then onto a campsite in Somerset near Burnham on Sea.

We love a potter round Wells market NanKate hopefully will be visiting next Saturday as we will be in the area from Thursday.

Concerned about Gilly hope she is ok

Kalu Sun 06-Sept-20 08:10:17

Could we be in for a sunny day Marydoll? Wonders will never cease but I am still packing summer clothes away. ?.
Enjoy tonights viewing.

Lins1066 Sun 06-Sept-20 08:12:30

Good Morning Mick and all from a bright S Welsh coast. A quiet day in prospect watching the Grand Prix this afternoon and then the Tour de France. A quiet day in as far as having DD's eleven week old puppy allows that is. He had his second round of injections on Friday and will be able to go out in a week. Ham and parsley sauce followed by apple crumble for us today. Stay safe everyone.

Marydoll Sun 06-Sept-20 08:13:03

I have already packed some, Kalu I may take my fur coat to Pitlochry next week!! ?

Grandmabatty Sun 06-Sept-20 08:13:25

Good morning All. It's rather cloudy here in Polmont but very calm. Mick I hope you get your free coffee. Grandmattie the quilt is a beautiful work of art! I've always wanted a proper, hand made quilt for my bed but I don't have the patience or skill to make one. Marydoll I did my Swedish death clear when I moved house and downsized. I fear objects are creeping in again though. I hope the desk dismantling and building goes smoothly. I have no plans at all so today I'm going to cook and bake. Beef casserole in the slow cooker and an apple and bramble crumble. I might make scones and biscuits too. Have a good day all.

Urmstongran Sun 06-Sept-20 08:19:45

Sun’s up here! ?
Good morning everyone from Malaga where we have another gorgeous day forecast ?

Himself has the Grand Prix this afternoon to watch and I shall be cracking on with my novel on my Kindle. ‘The Testaments’ by Margaret Atwood. For some reason I’ve not run to it, it’s been on my Kindle for a couple of months, just waiting patiently ... I think perhaps I was wary I’d be disappointed? No chance! It’s like crack cocaine.

A lady who joins us on Tuesdays at our wine group arrives at her apartment here today. She flies in from Birmingham for a few weeks. Her husband died in February and I can only imagine her grief when she puts her key in the door at teatime. Everything will be as she & her husband left it last November. I’m going to put a sticker saying ‘Welcome Back. xx’ on her door. I won’t go up. I think she might appreciate a little breathing space (to cry) when she arrives.

Hope Sunday is kind to us all. ‘Where’s gillybob? Keep safe everyone that’s the main thing. x
