Hello all, hope you are safe and well.

Mr P has been working from home, and will be for the foreseeable future.

Fortunately we have a well set up home office. His employer, the local water company, have now issued him with a laptop, linked to the I.T. system.

It has a video facility. I was wondering why he had moved some of my "stuff" from the bookcase that would be in the background confused

However, he has discovered that you can choose your own background!

So, he has opted for the bridge of the Starship Enterprise (2nd Generation) grin

Well, I now can't resist getting him some Star Trek pyjamas "leisure wear" to complete the look!

His work colleagues would be amused, but the clients he has to deal with might be a bit peturbed.........

Beam me up, Scottie!

It has become a pastime for some eagle eyed viewers, looking at books etc on the shelves of broadcasters.

We had a Zoom meeting yesterday and I had an anxious glance at our bookcase as it started!

It is nice to see though how many people have book cases. Not just banks of videos ?

Hope you’ve got a good supply of dilithium crystals, Phoenix!

grin

The background of our home office is actually pretty much ok, Ikea Billy Bookcase in white, to match the huge desk, stocked with books no one would be ashamed to have on their shelves, but Mr P obviously thought that wasn't good enough, hence the Starship Enterprise!

Wood effect Billy bookcase here.
Some ancient encyclopedias I received when I passed the 11+ (I used to read them voraciously).

Mr P sounds fun x

I want to to know how he did that!

Scottie wasn't in the Second Generation, was he? That was the one with Patrick Stewart.

Having said that, I was hoping this would be a Phoenix thread, so I feel a bit bad about being a nerdy wet blanket. I am due to appear as a witness in court via video link soon and look forward to tips as to what background I should chose.

I am a total Trekkie and my favourite is 2nd Generation. Then Voyager and then DS9. Do not like the Original Series.
I use my Humax to record these (they are usually shown on Pick or Horror), and every day watch one episode when I have my lunch (I live by myself). Even my Alexa answers to the name of 'Computer' not Alexa.
When I had builders in my flat for a couple of weeks recently re-doing my guest bathroom, I would close the door of my Living Room when I had my lunch each day, as I felt silly if they knew I was watching Star Trek!!
So, go Mr. P- think that sounds a great background!!!

I'd sit in front of my " once upon a time " bookcase, now crammed with Dresden figurines and Murano wine glasses.

JackyB, dependent on how you feel the case will go---blackout curtains grin

JackieB why not choose a Buckingham Palace background or a bus stop? You could have a lot of fun with it. Serious business though. I'm sure you're a bit anxious. Sorry for being flippant.
