Lovely day here, just finished breakfast! Must make some soup for lunch, change the bed and do a pile of ironing. Might venture into the garden this afternoon. Hope all with health issues and other problems have a better day.

Good Morning all from East Staffordshire. Grey but. Brightening up.
I have just returned from a 6 mile walk to and from hospital for a blood test, I am warm and red faced but feel good and ready for a bit of pottering in my garden.
Jax. I wish everyone was that organised about their future, it will save your children a lot of heartache and ‘arguing’ funnily enough. Well done.
Well my GM friends who are lurking and not posting, come on in, we don’t bite. Gilly. I hope you have some RL support with whatever you are experiencing at the moment.
Take care all❤️

Good morning everyone from a second lovely day in a row on the Angus coast. I hope it manages to stay good as my almost-15-year old DGD is coming for the weekend. Her mum, DD, is travelling south to see New Man, along with DGD1,. but younger DGD said it was too long in the car for just two days. I kept thinking she'd change her mind, but I think really she's looking forward to this little bit of independence. Yesterday was my first day of teaching four tai chi classes in a morning. It was lovely to see all the ladies (and several gentlemen) again. They were all a little bit rusty - we do a 108 move set and their recollection of the order in which to do the moves was, well, inventive might be a way to describe it! They had me confused! So lots of laughs along with the exercise and the feel-good of meeting up again after six months. Let's hope we aren't locked down again.

So sorry to hear about your family's loss Kitty.

Welcome home Pantglas. There's a song, isn't there - it's nice to go travelling ....... but it's oh so lovely to get home.

I'm exhausted contemplating all you have done already today Sark, and that's before a day's work! Oh to be young again! I hope your DD's headaches get better now - so horrid for her

Have as good a day as possible everyone. ???

Grandmafrench Fri 18-Sept-20 09:10:09

Every little helps, Urms ?. Thanks, GrannySomerset and Grandmabatty I shall post the good news after a couple of weeks if I do well. Just going to have breakfast.....truly breaking fast as we forced ourselves to have supper at 6pm and are now having first food at 10am ! Have to say my tum feels very comfortable and I had more energy yesterday.....so, fingers crossed.

Good morning everyone from a dry and sunny Inverness. It’s a cool start to the day but forecast to warm up nicely later. Yesterday was a beautiful sunny autumn day - so beautiful in the garden.
I’m looking forward to meeting a friend for lunch today and a catch up on all the news
Swinging on your garden seat at 5am watching the stars sounds idyllic mellowyellow worth being awake for!

Greyduster Fri 18-Sept-20 09:03:12

Good morning, Michael and all GNs. Mapleleaf is spot on with our South Yorkshire weather. Sun is struggling at the mo. Baking for me today (proper Cornish pasties, requested by GS. Why do I agree to these things?), and a mountain of ironing to tackle. That’s if I ever stop sneezing.......
Kitty what a shock for your DD and SiL. My condolences to you all?. Have a safe calm day folks.

Urmstongran

Disclosure: I did lose 3lbs due to the recent tummy bug ...
?

Always a silver lining! But perhaps there are easier ways?

MawB2 Fri 18-Sept-20 08:56:21

Good morning all from pleasantly sunny N Bucks.
Meeting friends for coffee, then hairdresser - it could almost be a “normal” day.
Kittylester I am so very sorry to read your sad news realising that you will be mourning a friend, your SIL’s mother and your dear grandchildren’s granny and feeling their pain and sorrow with your own.
You will be needed more than ever now flowers

Anniebach Fri 18-Sept-20 08:56:16

Grandmabatty Fri 18-Sept-20 08:54:22

Should say meds. Good grief

Grandmabatty Fri 18-Sept-20 08:53:03

Good morning All from a beautiful Polmont. Well, actually Polmont is ok but the weather is beautiful! Crisp, cool with a gorgeous blue sky and sun. I love the smell of autumn in the morning to paraphrase a film quote. Today I have a trip to the chiropodist to look forward to, then my oldest friend is popping in with a piece of coconut cake on her way to Kelso. I expect a wine delivery too. So a good day ahead. I shall potter about happily. I'm sorry to hear about your family's loss Kittylester. It must be a shock that it all happened so quickly. Mellow that sounds so peaceful, sitting out like that in the early morning. Well done to all the weight loss girls. Like Grandmafrench I have thyroid meds which render it very difficult to lose weight. I hope your little pooch continues to improve with his mess too! I hope everyone has a good day.

cornergran Fri 18-Sept-20 08:43:28

Morning Mick, morning All from a bright and breezy corner of Somerset. The excitement of grocery click and collect this morning, maybe a walk later if the sun still shines. I’m so sorry to hear that sad news kitty, my Mum died in a similar time span, the shock was immobilising. flowers for you all. Take care everyone, look after yourselves.

GrannySomerset Fri 18-Sept-20 08:36:32

Am envious and impressed by Urmston and Grandmafrench and their weight loss. Must focus my mind on shedding the (many) lockdown pounds or I shall be spending the winter wrapped in a blanket as nothing fits.

Taking DH for a check up at the local cardiology department. He has a leaky valve which is being monitored. Doesn’t seem to be troubling him so don’t expect any treatment given his age and general frailty. Tomorrow is flu jabs, so we are having a week of general maintenance.

I too am missing Gilly and hope all is well.

Nortsat Fri 18-Sept-20 08:31:21

Good morning Mick and the GM team, from a currently sunny east London.

Kitty condolences to your DD and SiL on their sad loss. How dreadful... breathing difficulties on Sunday and now has passed away. These are difficult and dark days. ?
GG13, we too had our flu jabs yesterday and both find our arms are sore. This is the first time we’ve had a sore arm after a flu jab.
NannyJ Porlock Weir looks lovely, it sounds as though you had a super time.

I have some work to do today and some admin. I plan leek and bacon bake for supper.
My cousin lives in the NE and I am waiting to hear whether she’s part of the new lockdown. She will be concerned about her daughter, who lives alone and is currently quite unwell.
Worrying times for all of us.

Thinking about Bluesapphire, Dragonfly and of course gilly (hello pet, if you’re reading ?).
? for those facing challenges today. Have a pleasant day all. ?

NfkDumpling Fri 18-Sept-20 08:31:11

Morning All

A bright and beautiful autumn morning here in the north of Norfolk. Still no rain here either Pitt. I even left washing out last night to tempt fate.

Pleased to hear your cold is a lot better Grammaretto. It's probably best you have cancelled your engagements, you're quite likely not as better yet as you feel!

Nothing planned for today other than ironing and a bit of pottering in the garden.

I hope Gilly and Dragonfly are ok.

Grandmafrench Fri 18-Sept-20 08:23:43

GG oh I wish.....but they’ve obviously got lost in the post!
Urms if you can lose like that, you’re taking back control, girl! How lovely... and good sleeping too. No, mine’s a bit more complicated - thyroid meds and a great love of cooking and eating with that! But, got to succeed, it’s bad enough being down about a pandemic, without looking in the mirror in my favourite outfit and thinking - “no”. So we must wish each other luck. We’ll do it. I have to now it’s public! ?

Mapleleaf Fri 18-Sept-20 08:22:53

Good morning,

It's still rather cloudy here today, but the sun is trying to break through so I think we will have a pleasant day.

We've got a gardener coming today to lower our hedges to a more manageable height for trimming without losing our privacy. I'll be glad to see it done - one hedge in particular needs proper levelling off as it's like a donkeys hind leg along its top!

Nothing too arduous planned for today. When the gardener is finished, I will put the pots back into their positions and, if I'm feeling really energetic, finish some bulb planting.

I hope that gilly, bluesapphire and all the other GM's taking a break feel stronger today than yesterday and will feel able to join back with posting very soon. ?

Sorry to read your sad news, kitty. What a shock for you all.

Whatever your plans for the day, take care everyone.

Grammaretto Fri 18-Sept-20 08:18:26

Good morning all from the Scottish Borders. Icy cold but if it's like yesterday it should be a perfect day.
I miss Gillybob too and Dragonfly
Sorry you had sad news kitty

It's DGD 3rd birthday today but no family party due to the rule of 2 households. She had a wee party at her playgroup yesterday.
My cold is much better but I have cancelled all engagements wink
The nurse phoned to invite me for a pneumonia jag next week.
Who knew life could be this exciting.
Hoping everyone has a good day and whoever you are backing in the TdF does well Mick

GrannyGravy13 Fri 18-Sept-20 08:14:17

Urnstongran and GrandmaFrench I have got your missing pounds they have appeared round my waist ???‍♀️

Urmstongran Fri 18-Sept-20 08:04:44

Xd post GrandmaFrench - funny we both mentioned losing weight this morning!
?
Good luck your way.

Pantglas2 Fri 18-Sept-20 08:03:38

Morning all from a dry and bright north Wales where I’ve just emptied a different chamberpot.......☕️!

Brilliant (if long...) journey home - plane half empty with a whole row each, train and bus same (and all on time) and a lovely night’s sleep ? at the end ?

So, 14 days quarantine in my little Welsh nest with cupboards and freezer full with a delivery of fresh food tomorrow and a pile o books to enjoy!

Will catch up with all your news but in the meantime, stay safe and hope to see ‘Friday girl’ - it’s been a while x

Urmstongran Fri 18-Sept-20 08:01:28

Good morning everyone from Malaga where the sunglasses aren’t needed today s we have heavy rain ☔️

Unsurprisingly we have no plans to go out. I shall continue reading my novel ‘Shuggie Bains’ set in Glasgow during the Thatcher years. I’m racing through it but have felt emotional at times it is so well written.

Just weighed myself and I’ve lost 5lbs. Yay! Today is Day 9 without alcohol. I will stay off the stuff for a while (even though I love it) as I’d like to lose more poundage! Actually my sleeping pattern is so much better too. I look forward to my bed, knowing I’m going to sleep soundly for 9 hours.

It’s nice to know you’re reading our posts gillybob but we’d much rather have you back as we miss you very much.

The klaxon has just sounded as it’s 9am here and the school is open! It will sound again at 2pm when it’s finished for the day - it always makes me smile to hear it.

Hope Friday is good to us all. Keep safe everyone that’s the main thing. x

Pittcity Fri 18-Sept-20 07:59:09

Good morning from sunny Colchester. Need a cardi now but still no rain.
Only one bed to change this week and more reorganising of arrangements that have already been changed several times.....Covid can take a long walk off a short pier!
