There is a mental health worker in our area called Dee Press.

And years ago, the vicar of a church in Edgware was called Gordon Bennett.

The vicar who married us was Peter Tabernacle

A recently retired senior judge was Lord Justice Judge.

I know a carpenter called Mr Board. On TV/radio there's a gardener called Pippa Greenwood. A customer of my husband's was called Mr Birdseye. I joked that he was probably a Captain, only to find out that he actually WAS! But my favourite was a girl at school, Theresa, who married a Mr Baggs. She became T. Baggs.

Partners in a local reclamation yard are advertised as such, on entering their yard: Ball and Waite.
Our new locum GP introduced himself as Dr. Love.

Our neighbour in London married Jeremy Berne. She became Helen Berne. How I would have loved to work with her so that I could tell a pernickety client to go to Helen Berne.

My religious knowledge teacher was called Mr Sinnott. I used to live near a little village called Upham and the Village bobby was called PC Bunker and he always answered the phone with “Bunker, Upham”. My landlady was called Miss Apps.

The RE teacher at our school was Mr Moses.

Our local vets were Mr. Turnbull, Mr. Drake, Miss Barks and Miss Otter.

Solicitors in Ireland called ‘Argue and Phibbs’

Carpet shop called Walter Wall.

We also had a parent at school called Mr Perfect. When he phoned up he used to say 'Perfect here, and I am'. He wasn't!!!!
