No Grandmabatty it wasnt you!!! I havent a clue what you are talking about.
You can mention any site you want on GN. Its allowed.
It was an American company selling weed and pretending to be a poster. Sneaky way to do it and get free advertising.
So stop worrying.
A poster came on an accused me of being negative about weed!
I have no opinion one way or another about weed!
I was reporting the advert.
Oh dear! ?

Good ironing (cornergran grin) from the Scottish borders where it's sunny and dry for World Porridge Day.
I have had mine already and very good it was.
I have skimmed through your posts as i am later today so wanted to add mine before noon.
Happy Birthday Nortsat see you tonight. nod nod wink wink smile

Happy anniversary to the kittylesters. Well done both!
We had ours last year, before covid, and had a wonderful trip to Cornwall 50 years after we were last there for our honeymoon. A slightly different focus the 2nd time......
Have a good weekend everyone.

Kalu Sat 10-Oct-20 10:49:39

Sorry Nortsat Happy Birthday ???. Enjoy your day.

Morning from a cool but bright S Lanarkshire. I've been out and about this morning because after all the warnings about the increase in cases in our area I thought it might be a good idea to do my shopping before it gets too busy, I'm reluctant to go back to family doing it for me, I feel they all have enough to do. Not sure it was such a great plan though, our local store doesn't have a night shift anymore and the aisles were quite crowded with staff filling the shelves!
Happy Golden wedding to the kittylesters, a very special day! A lovely golden apple Marydoll, how did you do that?
Happy birthday to Nortsat and MellowYellows granddaughter, how nice to be able to celebrate together.
Hope your sadness passes Bellasnana, it's so soon after your recent loss, it's bound to be hard today.
Good wishes to everyone.

Kalu Sat 10-Oct-20 10:38:48

Good morning everyone from a breezy but dry day in Glasgow.

Goodness annsixty, what a trouper. You even sound like a new woman already. No holding you back once you steadily recover. ?
It’s always lovely to see you popping in whenever you fancy Baubles
Many congratulations on your Golden anniversary *Mr&Mrs Lester*??Thé medals are a token of admiration or you may want to pin one on each other? It’s sad that you can’t share the day with your family but I hope you both enjoy your special day just being together.
Bellasnana?
I’m hoping our prisoners are released soon! What a farce.

Marydoll. I always use Rustoleum paints and have sprayed various surfaces with success. For a lovely authentic looking metallic finish on lamp bases etc. I use Oil Rubbed Bronze all surface paint. I always buy all surface which covers anything. Hope your project is successful?

DH had his Flu Jab yesterday and not feeling so great today so deserves some pampering, he is my favourite patient.
I will be having mine next Wednesday and must remember to have it done on my left arm just in case I have any painful after effects as I am right handed.

On with the day then whatever it turns out to be.

Have a pleasant day whatever you find to do today and best wishes to our missing friends and those who are having troublesome times.

Grandmabatty Sat 10-Oct-20 10:34:28

Marydoll if it was me I've already reported myself for mentioning a specific website.

Good morning everyone from a cool damp Inverness with more showers forecast for later. I’m much later than usual posting today as I’ve been having a very lazy morning ?. If it dries up later I must get into the garden and do some tidying up!
Such a lot of news to catch up on, a very warm welcome to all new posters, it’s lovely to hear from you and you’re very safe on this lovely supportive thread. Such a shame that some genuinely lovely people are experiencing unpleasantness on other threads - I don’t understand it!
Sending hugs to bellasnanna
Very Happy Birthday to norsat and Happy Anniversary to the kittys - enjoy the day!
Hope the unicorn birthday party goes well mellowyellow
So very pleased to hear your family seem to be getting much better urms, like you say, you never stop worrying ...
Take care everyone and have the best day you can ?

grandMattie Sat 10-Oct-20 10:02:21

Taichi, from what I can gather, loads of people are getting weird dreams and uncharacteristic nightmares. CV19 has a lot to answer for!
Happy GWA kittylesters, happy birthdays everyone...

Mapleleaf Sat 10-Oct-20 10:00:09

Good morning to you all.

I haven't read your posts yet as there are a lot and I thought I'd better post first.

It's a showery and chilly morning here in South Yorkshire. At the moment the sun is peaking through the clouds but it keeps darkening and then it rains again.

General jobs to do today, including the supermarket (exciting?) as I haven't been able to go out far this week what with waiting for phone calls and visits from various engineers to sort out all the electrical problems. I've a similar scenario next week as some things are still waiting to be fixed and DH is away for work again. Hey ho, that's life sometimes!

I do hope all of you with any worries or sadness gain some solace today, and thinking too of our regular posters not posting at the moment. Take care all. ?

Megs36 Sat 10-Oct-20 09:55:11

Ann60, so pleased you finally got your op, I have followed your ‘progress’ ever since I joined G N and it’s good to know things are moving with long promised electives. Take care and do all the exercises!

Taichinan Sat 10-Oct-20 09:35:52

Good morning all from the Angus coast. It looks like it's going to be a sunshine and showers day today, and it feels very chilly. October I suppose! Lovely to see all the new and revisiting posters. As you say Urms, the kindness cheers on this thread and I think we all need that cheery warmth these days. Annsixty so glad your op is over. We're all behind you, cheering you on through your recovery now. Happy Birthday to Nortsat and Golden Anniversary to Mr and Mrs Kitty. Oh and a happy 5th unicorn birthday party to Mellow yellow's DGD. What a special day this is turning out to be! ? to Bellasnana - grief is such a pernicious creature.
There's nothing much going on here today. I woke with what felt like a panic attack this morning (though I've never had one before) and it took about 15 minutes to get my breathing under control. I was dreaming that I was with people doing a parachute drop, although I was only observing, but what came first? The dream or the breathing? Scary stuff, and so vivid! My hopes are for a calm peaceful day after that rude awakening! Stay safe and warm and happy everyone ???

lovebeigecardigans1955 Sat 10-Oct-20 09:35:42

Morning all from an overcast South Notts. Welcome PollyDolly this is a nice gentle thread to start off the day.

Yesterday I visited my sister who lives just a few streets away and I think it cheered us both up a bit. It is only a few weeks since I last went round but it seems longer. In normal times it's a twice weekly get together. As we are in a Covid hotspot we're expecting a stricter lockdown. Days are becoming very samey, aren't they? Still one is grateful for the small compensations.

Hope today is kind to everyone, especially those with illness or worries.

Susan56 Sat 10-Oct-20 09:31:51

Good morning from a very autumnal day in Shropshire.

Good morning from a cool, grey NE.
DH is out buying newspapers which get put aside until tomorrow before being read.
Pleased your op is over annsixty, best wishes for a speedy recovery.
Happy birthday Norstat, enjoy your day.
Congratulations on your golden wedding anniversary kitty and Mr lester crack open the Champagne.
Best wishes to you Bellasnana at this sad time.
Thinking of all those missing at present.

Sar53 Sat 10-Oct-20 09:25:07

MellowYellow I hope your DGD has a lovely party. One of ours was 5 yesterday and it was unicorns all the way. Her favourite present was a huge white fluffy unicorn, almost as big as her.
Happy Anniversary Kitty and happy birthday to Norstat.

EllanVannin Sat 10-Oct-20 09:24:26

Good Morning All x A Very Happy Birthday Nortsat flowers----all the best people are born in October grin.

One of those days here where you shouldn't bother opening the curtains. Although it doesn't appear that cold it's dark, blowy and rainy---more like November.

Well I forgot to get the chicken out of the freezer to cook today for tomorrow, so it's now out of the freezer to cook in the morning. It's because my D had called yesterday which took my mind off doing anything but talking, not that it matters at all as she doesn't get that much of a chance with work and kids.

Up to now my phone's back on after outside engineers had been replacing old BT wiring at the exchange. It would have done no harm to have let me know beforehand but it's not often nowadays that many, if anyone, would. We'll see how it goes as it's been dodgy for a while really, even the broadband went down yesterday. Some of the wiring must have been around since Adam was a lad.

Hope Urmston's family are coming along alright and not feeling too washed out.

Your sofa looks lovely and comfy Pantglas and what a neat and tidy room----mine's like a museum grin I wish I wasn't a collector of crap antiques then I'd at least have a clear area.

Thinking of all our friends who can't be here for one reason or another flowers and special thoughts to Gilly with an uphill struggle but hope she's not too bad in herself to carry on. xx

Stay safe and well everyone and enjoy the day whatever it brings and whatever you do. Take care.

GrannyGravy13 Sat 10-Oct-20 09:07:59

Happy Birthday Nortsat ???

Many Congratulations on your Golden Wedding Anniversary Mr and Mrs kittylester ???

Urmstongran Sat 10-Oct-20 09:06:50

Sun’s up here! ?
Good morning everyone from Malaga ?

It’s so dark here in a morning until 8am so I keep sleeping in. I’m like a dormouse these days! Consequently when I log on there’s around 40+ posts to read which then makes me even later haha!

Congratulations to kitty on your GWA. Hope you have a lovely day. Many happy returns of the day to you Nortsat enjoy your meal tonight in celebration. And how brilliant to hear from you so soon annsixty - great now to go from strength to strength, pain free. Not before time.

The Covid warriors seem to be turning a corner now GG13 I’m thankful to say. It’s been an anxious time as a mum - I kept thinking of those sufferers who take a serious dip at day 5 or 6 so I knew I had to continue ‘worrying’. Once a mum ...

I splurged out of my SP on Thursday and have treated my two girls to a ‘Liberty’s of London’ advent calendar. They have both had a pretty awful year one way and another, for various reasons and I decided they were both so worth an unexpected surprise - they will arrive in Manchester and Yorkshire on Monday.
?

Thoughts are with ALL our missing posters. Hopefully they still read our posts? Also a huge welcome to newbies and returnees. This is indeed a wonderfully kind thread and has certainly grown in popularity over the last year or so! I think we all appreciate kindness so much more in these ‘unprecedented’ times.

Hope Saturday is good to us all. Keep safe everyone that’s the main thing. x

Greyduster Sat 10-Oct-20 09:00:29

Good morning Michael and all GNs from a cold, damp, gloomy South Yorkshire. We were doing some gardening yesterday and had just started having a chat with my neighbour who I hadn’t seen for a while, and we had a mini monsoon! Today I am baking, but I hope we will get a turn around the block.
Happy Fiftieth Anniversary to Mr and Mrs L!?☀️???. We bought a couple of watercolours for our fiftieth too, Kitty! Lasting pleasure.
Happy Birthday, norstat??. Enjoy your day!
Welcome Pollyanna!
Hip hip hurray, *Ann Sixty*?!
Have a good safe day folks.

NannyJan53 Sat 10-Oct-20 08:52:51

Good Morning from a bright Black Country, with ominous dark clouds on the horizon.

Recorded the short video clip for Nieces birthday, after about 12 takes, as I either kept laughing or my eyes were closed!

My friend in Lincs didn't make the video call. I had a feeling something was 'up' and it seems she has some worrying news. I just wish I lived closer.

Happy Birthday Norstat cupcake

Many congratulations Mr & Mrs Kitty I too hope you can have a big celebration with family and friends in the future. flowers wine

So pleased you finally had your operation Ann I hope you make a quick recovery and will be home soon.

Welcome to new postersPollyDolly and Goodbyetoallthat

Special thoughts of our missing posters

MellowYellow Sat 10-Oct-20 08:49:36

Morning from a bright cold south Cornwall. Well done Ann! They'll have you doing stairs in no time. ? Well, the table is laid with unicorn plates and cups and the balloons are up for my granddaughter's 5th birthday party. Roll on 3 o'clock when the little group arrives! The best of everything to you all, even where there's sadness. thanks

Gelisajams Sat 10-Oct-20 08:49:16

Good morning from Morecambe Bay where it’s been a very wet night. Heavy rain woke me several times but I have only just woken up to find a cup of cold tea at the side of my bed. I don’t know how long DH has been up. Any moment my phone should ring. It will be my friend in Somerset.
May go off to a local RSPB site today where we may hopefully see some bearded tits. They encourage them by leaving them grit trays which they need in winter. (Grit that is not the tray)
Takes care and stay safe everyone ?

Pittcity Sat 10-Oct-20 08:46:23

Good morning from chilly Colchester. It's dry and bright for now.
We have a family Zoom quiz this evening and DD1 and gang are coming for tea. Hope the WiFi holds up.

((((hugs))) for Bellasnana.
Glad all went well for Annsixty.
Happy birthday Nortsat.
Happy Golden Wedding anniversary kitty and Mr Lester.
