Terrible relationship with DIL - am I the problem?
Good Morning Everyone ,
Yet another dark but dry start here in Brackley this morning.
Yesterdays trip out was interesting in the way as to what I saw shopping wise the Sainsburys had a mixture of Halloween and Christmas items on display and as to later its only October .
I did hear there could be a panic buy of Christmas Puddings thanks to latest government plans fear of lockdowns .
Take Care ,
Mick

Good morning all. Nice and bright with blue skies here in Essex. Chilly though.
We have no.2 son and family coming for lunch today. Roast chicken, gammon and lots of veg. I bought 2 scrummy puds from m and s and I’ve made a bread and butter pud and a fruit salad. I’m so used to having all the family here at the same time, I think I may have over catered. Only 6 of us today. ?. They are such a lovely little family and I’m looking forward to having them to myself, for a few hours. ♥️.
My Gd FaceTimed from Southampton university to say two of her bubble have tested positive. She and the other 3 have had tests and are awaiting results. Oh dear. Poor girl has only been there 3 weeks and is confined to her room. They can’t even see each other. She was quite upbeat but it must be awful for them.
Mellowyellow what a lovely afternoon you had with GD’s birthday. It’s sounded such fun. ?.
Kitty I’m glad you enjoyed your anniversary ?, in these strange times, we have to make the best of things.
How annoying for you Sar . Hope you track down the culprit. ?
Please have a pleasant day and as scentia always tells us ‘find something to smile about’ ?
Good morning all from a beautiful start to the day in Glasgow where we have pink fluffy clouds and the promise of a sunny day ahead
Mellow Yellow, I forgot to say Happy Birthday to your GD yesterday. It sounds like everyone, along with the birthday girl had a wonderful day and the look on her face must have been priceless when she arrived for her surprise party. ???
Pleased to hear your DDs visited yesterday to help lift your spirits a bit kitty?
Sorry to hear someone has damaged your car Sar. The damage is bad enough to bear but now, the inconvenience of having it off the road for repairs is also extremely annoying. Hope you catch the culprit.
I had forgotten about the bag of bulbs I had put in the shed so a search for more pots under the potting table to wash and spray paint before I start planting. A perfectly calm day for the job. The tarpaulin I use for spray painting is beginning to look like Joseph’s coat of many colours. ?
Have a pleasant Sunday all with thought of our missing friends. Hoping your day is somewhat brighter. ?
Good morning Mick, morning all. We have watery sunshine here in South Lanarkshire. I had intended going into the West End of the city today to pick up a couple of tester pots from the posh paint shop until it occurred to me that I’d be leaving my own health board area which we’ve been asked not to do........sigh.
Talking of Christmas Puds though, I came across my darling grandma’s pudding recipe the other day, written down for me by her many many years ago. It was so lovely to unexpectedly see her handwriting, I may just make it in memory of her.
Hope you all have a good day.
Bright and cold start to the day where church beckons this morning and lovely next door neighbours coming in for a cuppa this afternoon. Feel we must do whatever is allowed while we can because the next few weeks sound grim. Not sure whether to join the run on C puds or merely to ignore the festive season entirely since we are unlikely to be celebrating much.
Hope annsixty has had a good night and is seeing a much better future, and that we all have the best day we can in the circumstances.
Good morning from a dry Morecambe Bay. I got a fright last night as a message appeared on my phone saying I’d been in range of someone who had tested positive for Covid19. When I tapped to read the message properly it disappeared. In the back of my mind was a GN thread talking about something similar. I went onto the app and explored the small print. It seems this can happen and no action is necessary unless you get the message from the App, in which case you will get full instructions about what to do and a countdown clock for your isolation.
So life resumes as normal! Or as normal as life is these days. May go to Southport today and meet with DS2 for a walk. We will take the camper if we can get a last minute pitch on the campsite.
Thinking of everyone with difficulties at the moment. Take care and stay safe everyone ?
So pleased your family are feeling better Urmston it must be such a relief.
Sorry to hear about your granddaughter Gingster those young people at uni have been on my mind a lot . What should have been an exciting adventure has turned into a nightmare for some.
It is dragonfly thank you.
Good Morning All x
So lovely this morning, which I knew it would be judging by the clear sky last night and the moon streaming through the bedroom curtain.
Sadly I'm going to spoil the ambience by doing some washing----while the going's good.
Chicken cooking so it'll be well cooled down before it gets eaten later with sprouts and mushy peas plus roasts and trimmings. A girl has to keep her strength up
Lins1066, I feel for you and share your worry x. It's ongoing with families I'm afraid and there's no end. It probably gets slightly easier as time goes on. I don't know how I've stayed sane, but there you are---except that my mind can literally shut off at night-time as the healing process starts---sleep !
I don't think I'll be worrying about Christmas puds as there are two at the back of the cupboard, one from last year and the other from the year before
Also one jar of mincemeat from last year- M&S. No point in going mad with a large food shop either as there'll be nobody here only the cats. I'll just make a smaller sherry trifle this year
Hoping this lovely bright day finds everyone well and Annsixty is on the mend. Thoughts to our troubled souls xx
Take care one and all and stay safe.
Good morning Auntyflo and all x
Good morning Mick and all
Blue sky and sunny here, we are off to our local coffee/tea shop for brunch this morning, then I shall be in the kitchen for most of the day cooking up 10lb of tomato chutney (my Grandmas recipe) , preparing onions for pickling, baking banana bread and then I found a rack of lamb Hindi in the freezer so that will be dinner!
Sar53 sorry to hear your car has been damaged ?
nannabana1 DD and annsixty wishing you a speedy recovery.
Doghouse4 we miss you
Keep safe and well folks ?♀️
Baubles. I could spend hours in that particular shop in the west end. You will find F&B in Homebase near you.
Happy Sunday everyone from a gorgeous sunny morning here on the east coast of Fife I’m up and dressed ready for breakfast I’m rootin tootin
today no aches and pains. Yesterday was a really good summers day here I had a wonderful surprise visit where my relatives met up with us including our youngest cousin who’s only just started walking and after a couple of my chips and an ice cream he was buzzing Hgrandad was kept going trying to catch up with him fun and games and that’s why grandsnetters we have our children at a decent age where our energy levels are just right
What a lovely kind neighbour you are marydoll delivering mars bar cake to your neighbours doorsteps. It must have been a lovely surprise when they found it - I do wish I lived on your road! .... ?
How annoying about your car Sar I hope your detective work pays off and you catch the culprit...
Happy to know the Doghouse 4 are reading. I have no idea when your ridiculous suspension ends but I hope this farce is over soon. See you soon. ?
Thank you EV xx
Brook, my neighbours were so supportive and kind when I was shielding, I try to find ways to reciprocate!.
Morning all from a fairly bright South Notts where the sun is trying to break through the grey clouds, there's a bit of blue up there, haven't seen the forecast.
Hope to do the weekly shop a little later. Not much else planned, a bit of sewing perhaps after I've read the paper and tried the crossword. Very mundane. I'm afraid.
Hope all is well with everyone.
Kalu

Ah thank you Kalu I didn’t know that.
Good morning from sunny Colchester. Feeling a little warmer today.
After a couple of days full of family at staggered intervals, we have a quiet day. I quite like the rule of 6 as we can comfortably sit around the table and have matching plates!
We have splashed out on roast lamb today.
Good morning from a bright NE.
A day with the newspapers for us today.
We are in lockdown with an infection rate of 292 per 100,000 only another 8 and the pubs and restaurants will be closed.
DH says we should conclude financial business tomorrow because he is expecting new measures to be announced which will make things awkward.
My sister said that she fears she may have her socialising curtailed as Germany has a rise in infection rates. She is the only person I know that has actually increased her eating out and visiting friends during a pandemic.
Take care.
Good morning from the East Midlands! It's bright with broken cloud at the moment. I have not read everyone's comments as yet but I will do later in. Have a good day everybody! Stay safe.
Good morning Mick and the GM team, from a grey east London.
Thank you Good Morning team for all your birthday wishes yesterday, they were lovely.
We went out for a very nice dinner and I had a somewhat more rowdy ‘virtual’ party, with the Lockdown gang.
The restaurant we went to is part of Shakespeare’s Globe and looks out over the Thames. We had a window table and we were watching the riverboats go by. Everywhere was so quiet ... it’s normally very busy ... so it was strange to see the Uber Boat virtually empty.
A quiet day for us today, with lots of thank you notes and emails for me to write.
Thinking of Bluesapphire and gilly. Good morning to MawB and the others on the ‘norty step’.
Have a good day, all. ?
Marydoll I will pm you my address and make sure that I leave the outside light on for you. Don't want you falling over when you deliver my midnight donation of Mars Bar cake do we? Just leave it on the doorstep please!
