A couple of years ago I treated myself to a new set of 'Starfrit Rock' pans. They weren't massively expensive but they are very good.

I first used them when visiting family in North America and I was very impressed. They clean easily and are dishwasher safe. They are the ones with black and white flecked surface.

They have a lifetime guarantee so hopefully they'll see me out - and so far they have managed to withstand my Mum leaving them to burn or boil dry on the rare occasion she cooks anything!

I've got some circular anodised pans - had them about 28 years now. They have been great. They don't go in the dishwasher but hand wash very easily. I've also got a prestige stainless steel pan with a steamer which is a similar age and that gets used daily. Judge is good, too - I have a small milk pan which is about 30 years old. That's made of aluminium.

I have just replaced a set of 43-year old Prestige saucepans as I could no longer buy spare knobs or handles for them. I bought a set of Stellar from Harts of Stur at a good price and the delivery was excellent. I can also recommend ProCook and their delivery service is next day if ordered before a certain time. I have an IKEA Sensuell saute pan which is used nearly every day.
