Hi all,
I am wearing the attached dress on Christmas day, with ankle boots, 100 denier black tights, a decorative belt and a shoulder bag. I hadn't thought about a jacket but I now wonder if I should have a jacket or wrap or something. What do you think?
Best wishes,
FH x

Ooo I’d forgotten about the visit to the alpaca farm. What a shame it can’t go ahead, you could have given the dress and the boots a dummy run.

Marydoll Fri 23-Oct-20 09:13:56

LauraNorder remember it's in the Glasgow area, we have on occasions had to resort to fleecy underwear! FH would probably get hypothermia, wearing that dress ❄ and it's been raining for days. Those lovely boots would be ruined. Wellies required, I think.

BlueSky Fri 23-Oct-20 09:18:30

You can tell FH is younger than us, we have stopped dreaming. We no longer believe in FC ??

LauraNorder Fri 23-Oct-20 09:23:41

Speak for yourself BlueSky, careful or you’ll end up with a lump of coal in your stocking.

LauraNorder Fri 23-Oct-20 09:25:39

Marydoll I didn’t think of that, perhaps a fur thong and matching gloves.

FlyingHxndbag Fri 23-Oct-20 09:45:22

Marydoll, I have no idea who Jason Leitch is, and don't want to. X
Ohmother, how vulgar! I have never used a tampon in my life! X

FlyingHxndbag Fri 23-Oct-20 09:46:39

LauraNorder it is going ahead, I wouldn't miss the lovely alpacas for the world! X

Marydoll Fri 23-Oct-20 09:47:06

FH ? I'm speechless! That makes a chnage. wink

annsixty Fri 23-Oct-20 09:51:16

Isn’t it nice to know how “educated” those younger than most of us are.
To not know the name of one of your government advisers and what’s is more not being remotely interested is troubling in the least.
No wonder no one is taking the slightest notice of advice about coronavirus.

FlyingHxndbag Fri 23-Oct-20 09:51:18

MawB2, I don't understand why as the alpacas aren't in his house? X
Notinthemanual, thanks for your lovely message. It's always nice when people are supportive. X

Professor Jason Leitch is Scotland’s National Clinical Director, so your sort of equivalent of Sir Patrick Vallance or Professor Chris Whitty I suppose.
I understood socialising between households was forbidden in the Central Belt which would cover the area around Glasgow?

FlyingHxndbag Fri 23-Oct-20 09:52:58

annsixty, I'm not sure if he is a government advisor, as far as I can tell he is a doctor who is voicing his predictions. X

FlyingHxndbag Fri 23-Oct-20 09:54:02

MawB2, your reply came in as I was composing mine. I don't understand what a National Clinical Advisor is. X

I realise that FH but I thought he was coming to visit you and take you to the alpaca farm. Apologies if I misunderstood that.

I can't stand thigh high boots... they make me look like a lady of the night
I'd have another think about the dress, then, FH if you want to look demure.

Some thigh high boots are very expensive, not cheap and nasty at all. I saw some for nearly £500.
But I am a tad too old for them now.

FlyingHxndbag

*LauraNorder*, I don't wear thongs, you seem to have me confused with a lady of the night. X

Nanaandgrampy, what's inappropriate about it? Because it's not a floral midi dress? X

BlueSky, awww thanks... I'm sure your beautiful as you are. X

No FH because it’s far too short unless you’re in your 20’s and gorgeous! Are you in your 20’s ?

There’s a very happy middle ground between looking like mutton dressed as lamb and wearing a floral midi ress.

NanaandGrampy Fri 23-Oct-20 09:58:52

Hetty58

Marydoll, problem solved - a digital Christmas, chatting on Zoom, only needs a top!

Oh that made me laugh Hetty . Wearing that as a top would make way more sense !

Fur coat and no knickers as my Gran used to say ?

Callistemon Fri 23-Oct-20 10:00:02

If FH was standing in front of me I'd say
"That's not a dress, it's a belt".

*MawB2*, your reply came in as I was composing mine. I don't understand what a National Clinical Advisor is. X

I googled him and it was quite complicated, but this sums up his role
The National Clinical Director is responsible for quality in the health and social care system, including patient safety and person-centred care, NHS planning, and implementing quality improvement methods across the government and the broader public sector

So basically he seems to be the person Nicola Surgeon consults on national health issues before making her decisions. .

FlyingHxndbag Fri 23-Oct-20 10:02:33

MawB2, he will just pick me up in the car and drive me there and we will walk around the farm. X

Callistemon, I also don't like thigh high boots as they feel like I'm wearing very odd lingerie. X

NanaandGrampy I'm in my 50s, with a very good figure, look much younger and I'm not ready for teacher dresses as I call them. X

FlyingHxndbag Fri 23-Oct-20 10:03:11

MawB2, I understand now. X

MawB2 Fri 23-Oct-20 10:05:43

However, didn’t mean to distract from your thread FH , so revenons à nos moutons as they say (back to the subject) smile
You will love the alpaca farm if it is the one I am thinking of. I wonder if Marleen is still there?
If it is the one at Fenwick I haven’t been there but I am sure it is every it as good.

shock
I'm in tears, you've just ruined Christmas for me
Does that mean no presents?
???

Hetty58 Fri 23-Oct-20 10:07:16

Where's that photo then? I'll believe it when I see it!

FlyingHxndbag Fri 23-Oct-20 10:08:47

Hetty58, a photo of what? X
