Well, I've got my gold, sparkly, lurex mini dress and white knee length Dolcis boots ready. I've oiled my bike ready to get to the event. I'll put the pan of black peas in the basket. I'll be offering the firemen Manchester Tart for afters. Achilles and I have been busy in the cellar all day, worked up quite a sweat. Anyway, looking forward to a great night. I'll be singing Re-light my Fire at the karaoke. It will need to be ignited by the time I've peddled from Manchester.

Has ‘come on baby light my fire’ been taken? I can sing and spin at the same time, and play the ukelele too. The missed notes will be less noticeable if I’m going off like a fire cracker after a bowl of black bean broth

That creosote laced hooch must have got to me. I handed a lady a huge oversize rocket. Was she pleased? She was over the moon.

That was no lady, that was Thor our fair haired Viking ( yes, his hair is very long) and he adores huge rockets, he’s probably up on the roof playing with it right now, expect a big bang!
We have boxes and boxes of fireworks piled up in the yard and enough wood on the bonfire to burn for two days.?

I will be singing Firework - by Katy Perry but my version. I have squeezed into my roman candle dress in shades of vibrant green, red and orange.

Am in early as am so excited! ( the thought of all the dosh we will be making). Getting dark now, so have turned on all the lamps and fairy lights.Thor is diddling about with the bonfire, such a perfectionist ( he says Vikings are the only ones who know how to build them).? It takes up most of the room in the backyard.
The spuds are ready to go on the fire later, the parkin cut into squares and the black peas are, well, black ....and doused in vinegar ( was I supposed to cook them first?)

Achilles and Gloopy are lining up cocktails on the bar ( and downing a few)? and there are sparklers ready to light in jars on the tables.

Have tied the llamas up to a lampost out front of The Argy, they’re likely to hightail it with fright once the fireworks go off!???We may have to do the same with Doodle later,
As she’s of a nervous disposition ( and she likes that lampost anyway...always leaning on it.)

Lemon I am in the cellar brewing, Expecting a big crowd tonight. Thor has deserted me for the bonfire. It's huge now and we wont need any heating on when that gets going.
Not that we have any heating at the Argy. The poteen and cocktails keep us warm enough.
Achilles is making homemade sparklers out of pipe cleaners and gun powder. I am filling buckets with water just in case.

I am ready also lemongrove , dressed in virginal white mini dress, silver tights and silver high heeled boots........a right little sparkler..........already for my rendition of like a virgin (touched for the —umpteenth— very first time)

I have made cinder toffee. It was supposed to be ordinary toffee but it was on for too long and was burnt.

Wow the Argy looks grand tonight, the sparklers and lights are amazing, everywhere is so clean, we scrubbers have done you proud Lemon. Everyone is sweating likes pigs on a spit with that bonfire cracking.
I’ve decided my karaoke turn will be a Kylie number, ‘I’m so dizzy, my head is spinning, like a Catherine wheel it’s never ending, I’m so dizzy’.
