So I'm starting this thread for anyone in the same position.
We can chat, share our 3am worries, whatever.
If you fancy popping on for whatever reason, here is the thread for all Night Owls moon
See you later x

I bought (recommendation) deep sleep body cocoon by Thisworks from M&S .
It's a cream to rub in that smells lovely ....lavender tones.
' A saviour for better nights sleep & brighter mornings " that's what it says on the tube !!
Anyway I've used it over the last week and
.............. well let's just say I haven't been ' ' 'here ' chatting for a while smile

Awake again going through my filing cabinet of past misdemeanours, present and future worries. Nothing gets resolved of course. Had a wonderful deep sleep last night unfortunately woken with the alarm before 7 am as Argos delivery expected sometime between 7 am and 6 pm. Promised text message giving time slot hadn’t arrived. Found an email late morning saying delivery was coming after 1 pm. No text message. Still new freezer now installed and ready to be filled. Good night all.

Good morning Flora & GardenerGran. I have just finished my book and now I don’t feel sleepy. We have early starts tomorrow and then the DGC are with us overnight. I have been sewing all day so I must tidy up tomorrow. Nothing really but my head goes into overtime when there are things to do!

Greenfinch Tue 08-Dec-20 03:42:23

Very quiet here tonight. Hope that means everyone is sleeping well !I have had a few hours but am now awake again as usual. Don't know whether to get up and do something useful or stay in bed and try to get back to sleep.

waving to Greenfinch

Greenfinch Tue 08-Dec-20 03:53:01

Hi! jdja.Sweet dreams!

Mollygo Tue 08-Dec-20 05:05:24

Flora 5 I’m off to get some of that from M&S. Last night was an OK night and tonight hasn’t been bad, asleep until now. I think it’s the excitement of swimming at 7.15 this morning that’s got me awake. I worry I won’t hear the alarm at 6.30 so I’ll probably doze on and off till then.

Kim19 Tue 08-Dec-20 05:38:08

Hello all! Just lying thinking about Greenfinch getting up to do 'something useful'. Perish the thought! I find just lying here cosy and warm thoroughly 'useful' as I plan my day. Might even achieve half! Off to have yet another look at Saturday's Strictly performance by Janette and HRVY. So uplifting for me.

Marmight Tue 08-Dec-20 05:51:35

Morning! I see my last ‘awake’ night was 6 nights ago. Sleeping this well for so long is a record ?. Maybe the peppermint & liquorice tea I’ve been drinking recently is helping, or maybe its just nature giving me a break. Who knows but to get more than 7 hours kip is wonderful. I’m too tired(lazy) right now having woken at 5, to entertain the thought of getting up to do anything even though Im desperate for a cup of tea. Another long day ahead ....

cornergran Tue 08-Dec-20 06:13:57

Morning Night Owls. It seems I’m not alone in having a few nights of better sleep. 6 hours last night, no complaints from me. Hope you slept again fanny, how is your husband now? Good luck with the stair lift installation. That’s interesting flora, a friend sent me a pillow spray which did not a lot, Perhaps the cream would work better when disturbed nights arrive again as they will . I’ve a pot of hot tea here if you want to join me marmight. Rest if you need to today everyone, I know it can seem a very long day if sleep has been elusive.

Nana3 Tue 08-Dec-20 07:01:20

A better night for me at last. The weather has been cold but sunny for the last 3 days and I've enjoyed my afternoon walk so I put it down to that.

Marmight Tue 08-Dec-20 07:27:05

Cornergran thank you ?

Flora5 Tue 08-Dec-20 08:59:56

Molly hope you get a little relief and have a better sleep . I think lavender can be very effective and popping it on arms and chest it seems to work well.
My other tip is riddles , you know something like BLUE BERRIES ,BERRIES OF BLUE BRING BASKETS BACK , or anything you make up . Repeat ,repeat and focus ONLY on riddle , it gets harder and harder to concentrate and usually zonk out
Hope you all sleep well tonight

FannyCornforth Tue 08-Dec-20 22:31:52

Hello everyone moon
Hope all's well.
I had to get up at 6am this morning, the earliest in months and months.
To think, when I was at work it wasn't unusual to get up at 4.30!
Cornergran it wasn't fitted! The electrician came and did his thing (making a right mess in the process) but the stairlift fitter was two hours late with a tale of woe, and then said that he didn't have all the right stuff so he'd come back tomorrow instead.
I'm not sure if I believed him, but I wasnt too fussed about that because it was already 2pm and I was exhausted.
The company is the best according to Which tchconfused!
DH is making a very slow recovery, thank you, but I can definitely tell that he's a bit better. His rheumatologist phoned him today as he's being taken off all his RA treatment. She also told him it would take a long time. It's a pity that he doesn't do the internet, as I think that he would really benefit from 'talking' to others in a similar situation.
Flora I'll keep an eye out for the M&S sleep stuff. I've currently got the Avon sleep spray and handlotion. It's very nice, not too lavender-y (if at all really). I don't like lavender, I find it a bit much.
Night night moon Might be back later, you never know! brew

Nana3 Wed 09-Dec-20 01:32:17

You're not back FannyC so I'm hoping you are having a good night's sleep after your early start.

Georgesgran Wed 09-Dec-20 03:17:43

Can’t believe I fell asleep on the sofa late afternoon - only 20 minutes, but that means I’m not tired now. Spent a bit of time ordering stuff from A****n, watched The Green Mile (again) and have had a hot drink and orange Club biscuit. Will be up and about by 7.30, so is it worth trying to sleep?
I usually read this thread, but haven’t posted much. It’s very quiet tonight, so hope everyone’s getting some rest.

phoenix Wed 09-Dec-20 03:46:44

I'm down in the kitchen!

Although feeling much improved, get absolutely exhausted, so go to bed at 9pm, then wake up with "busy brain" which won't switch off!

Also, don't know if it's the meds, but having very vivid and rather disturbing dreams. confused

YorkLady Wed 09-Dec-20 04:39:56

Morning all! Have been reading for the last hour and can’t decide whether to go and make some tea. Too cold to get out of bed this morning.
phoenix I know what you mean about vivid dreams, think it’s the lockdown syndrome ?.

cornergran Wed 09-Dec-20 06:08:08

Morning Night Owls. Cramp woke me about half an hour ago so here I am with a pot of tea. All welcome to join me. Decent sleep until then so not really complaining. Goodness Fanny, you’d think the stairlift fitter would have known what to bring with him. Oh well, today is another day, hope he’s there to finish the job. I’m pleased your husband is improving, Mr C also avoids the Internet, I find it strange as one of his roles was to teach IT. Hope everyone has the best day they can.

Elizabeth1 Wed 09-Dec-20 06:16:24

Hi Fanny and everyone else awake at an ungodly time in the morning. I want to fall askeep again but tiny winter attic visitors are keeping me awake, thankfully we’re having a friend to see them off soon. It’s the same every year. I’d be okay if my DH was lying beside me but unfortunately he’s had to isolate recently due to health reasons. He’ll be back in my bed very soon because he’s missing me too. Hopefully he’ll get rid of that white beard thing growing on his face he’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas I think there’s a song in there somewhere night night I’m off before it gets too late wink

Flora5 Wed 09-Dec-20 10:34:50

Morning all ....Phoenix could be meds regarding vivid dreams ? I get that busy brain drain ...exhausting.
Try riddles that you repeat repeat repeat .... boring as hell BUT that's what you need ....bore yourself to sleep . Also going through body muscles and telling them to relax . I'm always surprised how I hold onto bits of my body ....my clenched areas are hips and jaw . Hope tonight is better

Marilla Wed 09-Dec-20 23:32:12

Night, night everyone. Sweet dreams! ?

FannyCornforth Thu 10-Dec-20 00:18:00

Good night Marilla and all.moon
Elizabeth, you've got a lovely way with words! I hope that your husband is on the mend. (Mine has definitely turned a corner, he seems much more himself now.) I'm intrigued by your attic dwellers though (what are they?)
Phoenix I'm glad that you are starting to feel better. I too have utterly bonkers dreams. You can wake up feeling completely drained by them.
Stair lift fitted today! It only took just over an hour. It's marvellous. I no longer have to have a kettle in my bedroom, but I think that it may stay tchsmile

Mollygo Thu 10-Dec-20 01:17:37

Winter attic visitors -very intriguing. Hope you get them sorted. Fanny what a good idea to have a stairlift if it will make life easier. I’m amazed it was so quick to install. I thought it would take days. When we had Mum to stay we thought about one, but she said she’d rather sleep downstairs.
I’m still up, sorting my laptop out. When DH asked if I’d like an MacBook Pro for Christmas I said no, but after spending an evening waiting for this HP one to install an upgrade, I’m beginning to regret it.
Still, late to bed may mean a good night’s sleep.
Sleep well all.

Nana3 Thu 10-Dec-20 04:25:26

Hope everyone is asleep. Done some games, going to try for a bit more sleep.
