Hello All
I'm often awake in the small hours,
for a variety of reasons which I'm sure that many are familiar with.
So I'm starting this thread for anyone in the same position.
We can chat, share our 3am worries, whatever.
If you fancy popping on for whatever reason, here is the thread for all Night Owls moon
See you later x

Where are you mokryna?
I listen to the radio pretty much 24/7!
If it's not the radio, it's an audio book on Audible.
DH's coughing kicked off again an hour or so ago, so I've knocked him out with Night Nurse (I thought it was the right time to bring out the big guns tchgrin)

mokryna Tue 15-Dec-20 02:46:32

Versailles. I listen to BBC 4 Sorry to hear about your DH but he is out of hospital now.

FannyCornforth Tue 15-Dec-20 03:10:37

Thank you mokryna yes, he's doing very well now. His breathing is much better.
Versailles, wow! Like 99% of the UK, I think of the palace.
I'm listening to radio 4 / World Service again now.
LBC are discussing the fact that the life of Tony Blair is going to be the subject of a rock opera - so I had to hastily switch over. The mind boggles.
I've just had to go downstairs and get the flipping dog in - barking at the foxes again. I've locked her in now.

mokryna Tue 15-Dec-20 03:17:38

I would love to have a dog but not in a flat. On the radio they are interviewing the supervet Whois talking about his life

Rufus2 Tue 15-Dec-20 03:25:51

Lunch bell has just sounded, 2.15pm
Indoor temp. 31C outdoors 38C.
So what's to fancy!?
Tuna Mornay and Rice sounds nice although I always think it needs a spicey sauce or something to overcome its blandness.
Must ask Mrs.Beeton tchhmm
Keep chatting!

Sounds good. What are you planning for the afternoon?

FannyCornforth Tue 15-Dec-20 03:31:59

I'm listening to that too mokryna
It's very interesting. I had heard that he is not very popular with a lot of vets.
I didn't realise that he was a Professor.
What type of dog would you like?
Hello Rufus!

mokryna Tue 15-Dec-20 03:40:27

Yes the interview was very interesting. I didn’t know he had had problems with other vets, although sometimes the acts he does are very .. . unusual to say the least. Before I left England I had a Dalmatien and two Siamese cats but i haven’t thought of having now and you.

Nanderin Tue 15-Dec-20 03:48:30

Hello everyone I'm awake with my heart pounding I hate waking like this .

mokryna Tue 15-Dec-20 03:50:08

Oh dear poor you have you takenany medicine to help

Nanderin Tue 15-Dec-20 03:52:01

It happens when I have a bad dream

Rufus2 Tue 15-Dec-20 03:54:38

Sounds good. What are you planning for the afternoon?

Who? Me!?
Nothing much! Too warm for jogging; Freda hasn't got a sun canopy yet; pending Christmas and she's lost her warning flag thanks to somebody's overhanging shrub
.
Oh! Nearly forgot! Our household garbage bin hasn't been collected yet; it's been out in the sun all day and I'm sure it's beginning to rock from side to side.
I'm too scared to go out there to add more, discretion being the better part of valour! tchshock
Happy chatting!

mokryna Tue 15-Dec-20 03:55:50

That’s not nice, something you ate or just life.

Nanderin Tue 15-Dec-20 03:59:16

Just stress I think.

FannyCornforth Tue 15-Dec-20 04:03:41

Oh dear Nanderin
Hopefully that you have calmed down a little bit. Nightmares are terrible things.
Interesting breeds Mokryna!
Dalmatians need a lot of exercise don't they? I saw a lady walking one past our house yesterday - you don't often see them.
A friend of mine had a pair of Siamese - they were so talkative!
My dog Gracie is a bichon frise / Tibetan spaniel cross. I'd post a photo but I have to do it on my tablet. I will do it later.
My cat Rosie is a Maine Coon - my aunty bred them until recently.
She sold a cat to Sir Roy Strong (you may or may not of heard of him) and she took me to his house (The Laskett) to meet him.

mokryna Tue 15-Dec-20 04:03:53

I know what you mean. Was the weather good yesterday for you, here is was dry but overcast so I was able to go out for a walk.

FannyCornforth Tue 15-Dec-20 04:07:30

What are you stressed about, Nanderin, if you don't mind me asking?
Rufus - your posts are sometimes very cryptic (or is it just me?)

Nanderin Tue 15-Dec-20 04:10:02

It was a lot better yesterday. It has been raining for days. I feel better for chatting my heart slowed down now thank you for answering.

FannyCornforth Tue 15-Dec-20 04:12:24

Good, glad that you are feeling better now.
You can always come here if it happens again - there's usually someone about moon

mokryna Tue 15-Dec-20 04:16:02

Two long walks a day, I was lucky to live near parks and golf courses, the cats would lick her clean if she came in dirty. I don’t think I have ever met a Maine coon, love the pointed ears, do they talk. I think I will try to sleep now but I will look in to see the photo later today.

Nanderin Tue 15-Dec-20 04:21:17

I stress about everything worse since covid.

FannyCornforth Tue 15-Dec-20 04:31:05

No, Rosie is very quiet. She has a little squeak occasionally. She has a really gentle personality. And she's got amazing tufty ears!
Yes - I'll post a photo later. Sleep well.

Oh, I know all about stressing about everything! It's always worse at night too. It's such a waste of time though!
Towards the end of his life, Mark Twain said that he wished that he hadn't wasted so much time worrying.

Rufus2 Tue 15-Dec-20 05:07:02

Rufus - your posts are sometimes very cryptic (or is it just me?)
Fanny C. It must be you! tchgrin
I see nothing cryptic about my garbage bin or even my Tuna Mornay! tchhmm
Now here's some info that's not cryptic.
Not having been inundated with GN home-made sauce recipes I went looking for Mrs.Beeton and came across her "Book of Household Management" 1888
"Only" $738.55 plus $57.00 p&p from the NL. shock
So if you find a copy at the back of your pantry it could be a good time to down-size!
Continue chatting!
OoRoo

FannyCornforth Tue 15-Dec-20 05:22:02

Rufus - it wasn't just the rocking bin, it was also Freda's 'warning flag'.
I'm afraid I can't provide any recipes for sauce or otherwise.
I have my own copy of Isabella Beeton's book. It's a facsimile if the original. It was about a tenner from the gift shop at Chatsworth.
It's very interesting from a social history point of view.
So why is your bin rocking?

Greenfinch Tue 15-Dec-20 05:28:16

I have just lost my post ! Disappeared without trace. I was just saying to Nana3 that I was just watching the news when I fell asleep downstairs.I then went on to say that I don't find much on TV to interest me and comedy jars at this sad time.
Someone on another thread quoted "don't take tomorrow to bed with you " but I find I take yesterday too.I am particularly anxious about the school situation as 2 of our grandchildren live with us and DH is CE V. I will post before everything disappears again s please excuse any mistakes.
