Good Morning Everyone,
Its dark ,but looking dry and cold outside here in Brackley this morning.
Yesterday, I caught the bus locally and went to the new Sainsburys supermarket , but it was smaller than the one they have in Bicester , but carry most of usual stock.
Today I await a delivery via DHL from Parley Box, I am going to try there Xmas meals offer , if on my own it will reduce waste .
Take Care,
Mick

Good morning from a brightening Colchester. Dry and chilly is the forecast.
DH had a phone consultation with a nurse yesterday who decided that she needs to see him. He knows he needs to see a doctor but has to jump through hoops to get there. He has already made a private appointment with a specialist but even that has a four week wait.... Bloomin' virus.
Thursday night is online quiz night but otherwise my diary is empty as usual.

Good morning from a sunny, frosty Leicestershire.

Very nervous about hearing which tier we will be in. I fear the worst.

Wonderful news about your GD, how brave she is.
I wish I had had a mum like you Scentia.

No plans today.

Morning Mick, morning All from a misty, frosty corner of Somerset. Little sleep for me again last night, think I’ll have to talk to a GP about a change of pain medication. An NT walk at lunch time, looking forward to being out, a beef casserole in the slow cooker before we go makes an easy meal when we return. Good news indeed grandmattie, best of luck with the knicker changes. Sounds just what the doctor ordered for you all yesterday scentia. Another one here who has never used Zoom bellasnanna, you aren’t alone. Take care everyone, special thoughts for those with heavy hearts.

Gingster Thu 26-Nov-20 08:39:53

Good morning all and what a lot of news and chat you all have. So interesting to see what everyone is up to.

Thanks for your birthday wishes for my DH and DS1. DH’s op went well and his ear now looks as if a dog has chewed it. He’s had a small skin graft from his upper chest. Excellent service once again from the NHS. ?. We can only go by our own experiences.

GM such positive news for you little GD. Bless her brave heart.
Dwm thanks for all you do. ?
Scentia what a loving mum you are. I bet your Dd felt like a new woman.
Pantglas I’ve started singing ‘didn’t we have a lovely time, the day we went to Bangor’ ?.

Hope everyone has fun with their GC today. They do light up our lives. ♥️

Marydoll Thu 26-Nov-20 08:42:40

Good morning all from a frosty Glasgow, I'm glad my working days are over, no more scraping cars!

Grandmattie aka knicker lady, great news about your wee granddaughter and Scentia, glad to hear your daughter is a bit better.

DH is insisting I stay in bed this morning. ? He probably wants a bit of peace and quiet. ?
We went for a short walk to the post box yesterday to post an envelope to the Alzheimer's society ( thanks Nortsat for alerting me) and a letter to our friend in Italy. I felt awful when I got back and spent the rest of the day doing zilch. To make matters worse, we got to the postbox to find that, after checking online to see how much it would be, I forgot to put stamps on it. DH was not a happy bunny!!! ?
Thank goodness for our lovely postman, who spotted the letter in our porch and offered to take it to the post office.

For nine months I have been searching for a gift I bought in the sales last Christmas for my future DIL's birthday in May. I ended up buying something else and began to think I had imagined buying it. I had always thought it would turn up in time for this Christmas, but nothing, so again I bought something else.
Yesterday I ventured, where no man (nor woman) ever goes, DH's man cave. I had stashed all the bargain Christmas paper from last year in the cupboard there and hadn't visited since. DH just fires everything in there, so its almost impossible for me to lift out the heavy spare golf clubs and all his other junk precious possessions.
After eventually getting out the storage bag of paper, I spotted the missing present! ? Now how did it get there?
Oh well it will do next year if I remember where I have put it! ? I may have to take a leaf out of my late MIL's book and write everything down. ?

I also found gifts I bought in New York last year. If anyone is looking for lip gloss, I have plenty, and I mean. PLENTY, all found in a TKMAXX bargain bin!
Well it did seem a good idea at the time. ?

Baubles, glad to hear you are making progress and Kitty I hope you at last manage to sort the roof problem. * Elizabeth1*, another successful post! ?
Harri, I'm so sorry to hear of your troubles. Sending gentle hugs to you and your family. ?

Have the best day you can, everyone.

Mapleleaf Thu 26-Nov-20 08:48:37

Good morning to you all,

It’s a brighter, dryer morning than yesterday, though still cold here in South Yorkshire. I’m not sure how long it will stay bright though as the clouds are starting to roll over, covering the brief bit of sunshine we had.

Pilates again this morning - these sessions soon come round, despite lockdown and restrictions.

After that, I really must tackle the ironing that I was going to do yesterday and Tuesday! Somehow, other things got in the way ?.

I will come back and read everyone’s posts after my class, so I do hope you are all alright and anyone with worries or sadness, I hope today brings some calm to your troubled mind. ?

Grandmabatty Thu 26-Nov-20 08:52:58

Good morning All from a cold Polmont. I can't decide whether to nip to town for Christmas books and vouchers or stay home. Parking requires pound coins and I have no loose change at all! Small problem I know. Scentia what a lovely mum you are! Harrigran what a worry for you and your family. I hope your wee dgd is ok. Grandmafrench I love a good storm! But not when it keeps me awake. You have our permission for a cheeky nap when you need it. Kittylester I'll keep my fingers crossed that the coating on the roof works. I had a terrible meal last night! I really fancied fajitas so bought in the necessary stuff. The tortillas weren't heated enough and tasted like plastic, I had used cooked chicken, it didn't work, and I found bones the hard way, despite shredding carefully, the spice mix was gritty so most of it was thrown out. All of it was my fault of course, which was annoying. Tonight I'm making pizza so I will take my time. Have a good day all.

Good morning Auntyflo and all x

Grandmadougal Thu 26-Nov-20 09:05:31

Good morning from a bright but cold Norfolk.

Good news grandMattie little ones are very resilient and bounce back so quickly.

Decided to start the Christmas decorating today DH is out for the morning so I will have a free rein, trying for subtle look as he’s bound to say it’s too early. Think we all need to do things to cheer us up. I know GS will love it when he’s back here next week. Will buy the tree next weekend and he will help to decorate it, he loves going to the farm to pick it, watch it chopped down and the wrapping to get it home. Last year we forgot how many there were of us in the car and couldn’t all get in the car with the tree so an urgent call to DH to rescue us!

Hospital appointment later this afternoon so best get a move on.

Take care everyone.

GrannyGravy13 Thu 26-Nov-20 09:07:23

Pleased your DH’s Op went well yesterday Gingster what a way to spend your birthday? ?

Scentia you are a super mum ?

Sar53 your parcel debacle is a complete shambles ?

GrannyGravy13 Thu 26-Nov-20 09:09:29

Marydoll I am so pleased to hear of your gifts missing in action it’s a family joke that I regularly lose gifts, reassuring to know that I am not alone ??

Urmstongran Thu 26-Nov-20 09:09:30

Good morning everyone from Malaga where we had the most spectacular thunderstorm last night which lasted several hours.

However at 2am the doorbell went and woke us up. Disoriented, Himself answered the door to find our 85 year old neighbour who was agitated, worrying ‘what day is it - have I overslept?’. We reassured her and sent her back to bed. This played on my mind and I couldn’t sleep for ages.

My Covid warrior is struggling and that also concerns me (especially in the wee small hours - you all know what that’s like). Week 8 now of long Covid and she took herself off to A&E where the doctor arranged a chest x-ray. It doesn’t seem as though she’ll be going back to work next week and that’s making her anxious.

It’s tipping it down here right now and the apartment looks like a laundry with washing on the maiden, on the back of chairs and the heater on - no tumble drier here! Ah well, it will all be dry this afternoon and put away.

I’m going to sit with a coffee now and catch up with all your posts.

Hope Thursday is kind to us all. Keep safe everyone that’s the main thing. x

Gelisajams Thu 26-Nov-20 09:10:05

Good morning from a dry cool Morecambe Bay. Nothing to report and nothing planned for today, so I’ll see if I can speak to my asthma nurse about my allergies. I’m fed up of this itchy throat sore eyes and sneezing. I know many have worse problems but it is annoying ! Take care and stay safe everyone ?

Susan56 Thu 26-Nov-20 09:11:02

Good morning from a Shropshire.

Another quiet at home day. Will write a few Christmas cards.DH is making a roast dinner followed by apple crumble and custard?I will keep out of the kitchen. He wants to try a new stuffing recipe of his own invention so has decided we need the full dinner to go with it!

Wonderful news that your granddaughter is to have her surgery grandmattie. What a brave little girl she sounds?

Harrigran, hope your DGD recovers quickly and Mary take it easy today?

Cherry??hope you’ve had a good night.

Have the best day you can everyone and stay safe.

Susan56 Thu 26-Nov-20 09:12:00

Gingster, glad your husbands operation went well.Wishing him a speedy recovery.

Nannytopsy Thu 26-Nov-20 09:15:27

Good morning Mick and all his followers. It’s a bright morning here in Suffolk. We still have jobs to do in the garden but a lazier start today, after the school run yesterday. The knee is still giving grief and I have not felt an improvement from the acupuncture this week. The new freezer arrived well after dark yesterday, after a despairing phone call from two lovely young delivery chaps. It is a bit rural here and very dark! It is safely in the shed, so today we can unpack it and get it going.

How lovely to have a mum who cleans your house Scentia. We once had a lovely neighbour who would wash up then iron when she came to babysit.
Good luck to your brave DGD grandMattie and to you with the knickers ?.
Kitty I do hope this finally sorts out that dratted roof! Here’s a contribution for the plate! ?
I hope the day is kind to everyone.

GrannySomerset Thu 26-Nov-20 09:20:19

Once I have got DH ready to face the day I have my U3A book group on Zoom. We are discussing John Steinbeck’s “The Grapes of Wrath” which has so many echoes of the experiences of contemporary migrants minus the English Channel. We need to pick something more cheerful for the future! We do try to occasionally tackle something which everyone has heard of but not necessarily read. I last read this book in my teens and remembered only scraps.

This afternoon brings a Tesco shop. DH wants to come which makes it all more complicated but I can hardly say no. Not much else planned but it’s frosty and bright which is good.

GrannyGravy13 Thu 26-Nov-20 09:25:07

Urmstongran I think maybe you need to give your dear neighbours family a phone call, especially as your departure is imminent.

mancgirl Thu 26-Nov-20 09:28:33

Good morning from a brightening Manchester. grandmattie good news about your granddaughter. Glad it's not me altering knickers, I'd probably stitch the legs together! I've said before on here, I'm not a domestic goddess! Walk to pick up prescription soon. Collect gs1 from school later, last of the Gousto meals for dinner. Not expecting to be released from tier 3 today even though our infection rates are dropping daily. Enjoy your last few days Urmston Feels like a lifetime since we left on March. Manchester will be glad to see you backsmile take care everyone flowersfor those with extra cares and worries.

EllanVannin Thu 26-Nov-20 09:51:54

Good Morning All x.
A bit parky this morning but lovely and bright. The old Tom looked cosy in the back of his kennel tucked up in his fleece, he was still breathing as I've just given him his breakfast----it doesn't touch the sides grin, bit like myself with the crumpets.

Someone's tele was really loud when I went to bed last night, most unusual as it's so quiet here but it was getting on my nerves. Sounded as though there were visitors there too. One can forgive a " one-off " smile Maybe a Birthday.

More parcels expected but I won't be going far. Remains of the beef stew to be eaten today as it went down well yesterday with an apple to finish off. I must eat a pound of apples a week.

What a brave little girl, GrandMattie, bless her.
Scentia, didn't you do well, what a good soul you are to brighten the day like that.

I feel everyone's frustrations during these times but I'm not as bad as I was yesterday, I really had a day on me. At least the local news has lifted me a bit by saying that Wirral cases of the virus are the lowest on Merseyside----let it stay that way. Trouble is it'll get more people out and about thinking it's safe now.

I'm no further on with Christmas though and can't decide whether to bother with a tree or not,. for the first time it's feeling like a chore besides a waste of time. Obviously the effects of the year. One of the cats enjoys the tree as there's usually 2 or 3 baubles on the floor to greet me in the mornings.

I do hope everyone has got this lovely sunshine to brighten your day whatever's in store. Stay safe and well xx
Usual thoughts to Gilly x

Good morning all, it’s dry here at the moment. I need to go to the pharmacy today, I got my monthly supply of meds on Tuesday but when I unpacked them last night I flimflam the seal was broken on one of the boxes and some tablets were missing. Not good!
