Puzzler61, I really thought it was just my COPD playing up due to weather conditions etc, would seem that this damn infection has been in place since October!

merlot - I too was thinking about a fourth hand to hold the bladder. This growing older lark is not a walk in the park.

Poor phoenix - I hope they can get this chest infection under control without needing to go into hospital.

Sending Get Well wishes to you phoenix , it’s just awful when you have a cough that rattles your bones and leaves you gasping for breath.
Hoping that what the GP sends you today will give some much needed swift relief ??

Sorry to say, not really, Callistemon, yes have contacted GP again, they are sending out a different Aero Chamber, one with a mask.

Fortunately 2 members of their staff live in the village, so it will be dropped off.

Can't fault the service I've had from them.

Oh dear Phoenix - I do sympathise with you, having been through the exact same scenario myself just a few weeks ago. Fortunately I was eventually prescribed the right antibiotics and in combination with the steroids they did the job. I do hope you're soon feeling better and are able to keep out of hospital.

The best bit about having such a rotten cough is that I had to have a Covid test before my G.P. would see me, so when it came back negative I immediately popped round to see my mother in law ('twas before this current lockdown and we have both been shielding) and I gave her a huge hug for the first time since February.

I'll start designing.

Callistemon I was thinking more in terms of one of those puffa jackets. If MrP had bought the ones with wings then no sewing would be required as they could just be stuck together.
Perhaps there could be a new thread. What interesting things could you make with left over pads. I’ve got a load that I had before my hysterectomy in the back of a cupboard somewhere. ?

You could sew any spare pads together and make yourself a liberty bodice to keep you nice and warm.

He seems to have erred on the side of caution with the pads, opting for absorbency level 4!

Seems a tad extreme to me, it's only a little leakage when I cough, I wasn't planning on touring the music halls as a living tribute to Niagara Falls.

Still, the thickness of them means they could be handy to tuck under the sides of my bra to help cushion my ribs!

The kind of coughing that just makes your ribs ache and almost blows the top off your head each time is bloody terrible. That amount of discomfort does shout 'chest infection', Phoenix so I bet your GP is correct. You certainly don't lose your sense of humour and I am so happy to laugh - having checked first to see what you have done about your poorly situation. Had you done nuffink - there would have been a very snarky post here, guaranteed. Like you even care, though!
Please get well very soon and wishing hard that your DH arrives laden with Yuletide Leakstoppers, Festive Incontinence Pants and something soothing for that poor chest (Liberty bodice and a Celebratory jar of Christmas goose fat perhaps?)

Well, he's set off, only going to Lidl in Torrington.
