Building wise like a pub, or Hotel , as someone well known been present whilst you were in there .
I have had a few experiences .
1: I went to see the Tour De France in Paris in the 80`s on a coach trip , finding the passenger on the trip next to me was Bernard Manning , we also had a beer together .
2:Also in the 80`s I stayed at the Crown Hotel in Harrogate ,and had lunch close to where Johnny Morris was seated .
3: Coming into the 90`s :
Richard Harris in a pub in Banbury ,and staying in Yorkshire again , went to the pub that was called the Woolpack in Esholt, to see cast members of Emmerdale taking a break one was Stan Richards .
4: up to date ,2 occasions I was on a coach trip again staying in a hotel in Old Windsor and Alistair McGowan was having breakfast , and finally staying a hotel outside High Wycombe for my nephews wedding, Rick wakeman was having breakfast .

Newatthis

I was once in a very upmarket bar in London many years ago and Omar Sharif sent a drink over to me. I didn’t know who he was and thought it rather cheesy so sent it back.

Are you mad ????,!!

At a wedding in a posh hotel in Glasgow we heard a racket outside. The Beatles were entering the building. I was 16 then and excited beyond belief.
As a hotel chambermaid in Douglas I folded John Betjeman's pyjamas!
At Chartwell I followed an immaculate elderly lady with cracking legs into the tearoom ... Margaret Thatcher. She was surrounded by handsome young men, lucky girl.
In a physio's waiting room I was reading an article by Eric Clapton when who should walk in ... yes, the man himself. Very spooky!

When dd2 was maybe 10 and her elder sister was off on a school trip, we took dd2 and a school friend to a hotel in Cornwall for an Easter holiday.

The girls naturally shared a room, and were no doubt making a certain amount of noise - jumping on the beds and delighting in the free packets of biscuits, etc. - when there was a knock on the door, and someone asked quite nicely whether they could please keep the noise down because - we couldn’t believe it! - they were filming an episode (or a bit of it) of Neighbours in the next room!

Such excitement! Neighbours being the absolute Must Watch for many between about 8 and 28 then.

The late John Thaw in a Thai restaurant in Oxford with the Morse crew. Helena Bonham Carter in Costa coffee in Abingdon. Melvyn Hayes and the late Windsor Davies at Paddington Station. Jimmy Carr at a Brian Ferry concert in Oxford.

Liverpool suburbs have been frequented by a lot of famous footballers too many to name. It was common to see them in trendy bars and restaurants.
There is an area where a few famous writers live Willy Russell and Phil Redmond are often in local supermarket. Simon O’Brian actor and tv presenter does a lot for the local community as a good neighbour.
They appear to be private people getting on with their lives and obviously happy to live where they are.

When I was in my 20's shopping in arndale centre in Manchester. A lady was coming towards me and I thought it was one of my mums friends.
But couldn't remember her name.
I stopped and asked how she was, what a surprise to see her there. How is her family. And other such rubbish coming out of my mouth.
She was very polite and friendly but seemed puzzled.
A couple of days later I was telling mum about this friend trying to describe her. Mum had no idea.
12 months later I was at my mum's house in the evening and who should come on the TV 'mums friend' it was Betty from Coronation Street.

Another time I was in a country pub and was waiting to be served and started talking to the man next to me.
It was only Donny Osmond. When I realised he gave me a kiss on the cheek, his autograph and a photo of me and him.

I used to work at the Beeb and occasionally ate in 'Hospitality' which was the posh eating place, rather than the canteen. I sat opposite Michael Palin once!
