Good Morning Everyone,
I have woken to yet a dark and dry morning , and maybe some fog .
Today , I plan I small shop and hopefully get another delivery from Parsley Box .
Feeling a little better , but its avoiding meeting others at close quarters, which I try to avoid ,and my other problem is I have panicked just lately , say in a que ,and experiencing cold conditions outside to to return to my nice warmed flat which feels cosy with the heating on.
I will also be at home for Christmas , I normally go to sister and brother in law in Shropshire .
With current situation , they had planned to go to my niece in Canada, but due to lockdowns over there its off, but we could get together but coronavirus rules state no stopovers , although with my brother it would 4 .
Add to the fact you cannot go to the pub and have a social drink unless you have a meal which restricts it again.
Take Care ,
Mick

Good Morning Wednesday
(62 Posts)Good Morning everyone from Severnside. Another start to the day like yesterday, damp and dark.
Just a finishing up and pottering day for me. I’m enjoying all the Christmas tree and decorations that good morningers are posting. Lots of lights up in my road now.
Best wishes to all with worries and have the best day you can ?
Good morning from a dark, dank EKent. Although we get very little rain here, it always seem on the point of a deluge.
Mick, about your solitary Christmas, but it seems that most people are keeping safe rather than risk catching the dreaded bug, vaccine notwithstanding.
Thad a text conversation with DD yesterday. She sounded more upbeat. Things seem to be settling down, everyone getting used to the situation.
Thank you for all your kind advice, I shall offer some when rather situation presents itself.
FYI, yes Iris is 8 years old. She broke her leg when she was 7 months old, has been in plaster or splints since so the condition is ongoing. DGD1 is 10. Family is vegetarian and the children are very fussy eaters... other grandpa is a GP so am wary of offering advice.
Be kind to yourselves today, rest/nap as and when, just sit if you feel like it, the dust will wait. Hope today is pain-free, worry-free, struggle-free. Stay safe. X
Good Morning all from East Staffordshire where it is still dark and feels cold.
Mick it is certainly going to be a quiet strange Christmas for us all, let’s hope for a brighter 2021❤️
Work day for me today then tonight I am going to sort the mountain of boys clothes my DD let me have yesterday. I will put some online snd give some other bits to the refuge. That little boy (DGS) had more outfits than there were days, what a mountain of outfits there is, she has kept all the unisex ones that will be ok for a girl!!
Today I am booked in at the tip to take some stools from the factory so will have to do that at 10am.
Shopping tonight as we have no food, I do dislike food shopping, always have though so nothing to do with Covid.
To all my GM friends, do look after yourselves and have the best day you can.
Morning Mick and All.
Dark and very chilly I suspect in South Bucks.
So pleased little Iris is settling down. A positive end result is what you are all working towards. I think your side opening knickers could be all the rage Grandmattie in 2021. Are you going into major production?
Finishing up bits and pieces towards Christmas today. I haven’t started any packing of gifts yet, that’s my family job.
Good morning.Mick and all his followers.
Cold and dry here, although it’s still dark. At least the fog has lifted.
The DGC slept here last night as both parents were on a night shift. I sleep very lightly when they are here so there may have to be a nap this afternoon!
After we drop them at school, we are going into town. It will be DH’s first visit since March and only my second.
I hope the day is kind to everyone.
Good morning Mick and all GMs. Not peeped out yet but another cold one here in north Surrey, thermals on for outdoor PT session.
GrandMattie I wondered if there are forums for parents and children who can share their experiences. It always helps to talk to people who can truly empathise.
Ashcombe your window decoration is beautiful, I know if I attempted anything like that it would just look a mess, I do not have an ounce of artistic flair in me.
Jaxjacky thank you for the recommendation for foot warmers, I have ordered some online.
Can hear one of DGS is up and about so will get them sorted before I go off for training.
Have a huge pile of ironing which DD has left for me (I know she does appreciate my help)!
This afternoon I am having my hair cut and coloured, yippee, been too long.
Wishing all a good day today
Good morning from a cold and dark Oxfordshire
Work soon but looking forward to putting the Christmas tree up later.
I love all the photos of all your trees etc.
Our tree is almost like a family history lesson and full of memories.
We have bought a tree decoration on every holiday we have been on, and the many day trips etc, plus handmade decs by the children and grandchildren and baubles given to me by various family.
It is definitely not a 'show' tree but we love it
Thinking of all with struggles and hoping everyone has a good day
Just read my post..didn't mean to sound rude saying 'show tree' I meant 'department store' type of tree. Oh dear when in a hole stop digging!!
Good morning all from a soggy North Leicestershire.
Anyone who is interested might like to know that the hall roof still leaks - back to the drawing board!!
Our lovely cleaner will be here this morning - it's an upstairs week so I will iron in the kitchen. This afternoon I must finish my online shop and finish up Christmas shopping.
Zoom course this evening. This group are much more lively than the last.
Mick, its miserable living under these restrictions but we need to stay strong until things get better.
Good morning, I haven’t looked out yet but will take kitty’s word for it.
Went into town to get my hair done yesterday and it was very busy. I found it so stressful. They looked after me well at the hairdressers though. Afterwards went to the farm shop - I love their eggs!
So pleased to hear Iris is settling down. It will be a long haul.
How are you Gilly ? Your friends miss you.
Thinking of Grammaretto
Good Morning. No fog this morning luckily. I had to be at DD2s by 7 am. as she has furniture being delivered between 7 and 10. Sod’s law it is the one day that she had to go into work rather than working from home.
I WILL finish the Christmas cards today.
Sausage rolls to make and pop in the freezer.
Gifts to sort and wrap.
Hope you all find a ?today.
Good morning from a frosty S Hants, I was going to the farm shop early if I can brave the chill. Washing of bedding and a Tesco delivery pm are the days highlights!
Pleased Iris and the family are improving, long may it continue.
Have a pleasant day all.
Morning Mick, morning All from what looks like a dry corner of Somerset. Oh blimey kitty, what next with that ceiling? It sounds as if the strange year has caught up with you mick, did you get medical advice yesterday? Hope you can enjoy your day ahead. Other than the excitement of a grocery delivery this morning no plans for today. I’m still very uncomfortable so a bit restricted, fortunately I have a butler to bring me cups of tea while I recline (not very) elegantly. Take care everyone. Thinking of all with worries of any kind.
Good morning to you early birds on another freezing morning in Torbay! Such low temperatures are rare here!
Thank you to you all for your compliments regarding my window, including Dwmxwg today. I stand in awe of the skills so many GN's display, such as baking, sewing, knitting, gardening, etc., all of which have passed me by, despite my Mum being adept at all such activities! However, faffing about is what I do, especially with Christmas decorations!
Today, my “Move It Or Lose It” class restarts so I’ll let you dear people know tomorrow if I still have “it”!
Yesterday, I enjoyed a walk over Babbacombe Downs in the sunshine and was amazed to see no less than six cruise liners anchored in the bay! Locally, they’re regarded affectionately, not least for donating surplus food to our homeless charities. Plans are in hand for landlubbers to create some boxes of Christmas treats for the crews onboard to enjoy.
It’s good to know that Iris and her family are adapting to their challenging situation, grandMattie, and they no doubt value your advice as much as that of the GP GP! We look forward to hearing further details of progress.
Take care out there and I hope your visit to the surgery gave you some reassurance, Mick.
Good morning Mick, morning everyone from a very dark and damp South Lanarkshire.
Good to hear that things are settling down a little grandMattie.
I’ve no idea what I’ll do today, himself has golf booked but only if the rain holds off. I should probably start wrapping but can’t seem to get enthused about it.
Anyhoo, have as good a day as possible and look after yourselves.
Good morning Mick and everyone. Yes, it's dark and dank here in Cheshire too. I didn't seem to notice the very dark mornings as much before.
I went to the hairdresser too yesterday dwmxwg. The first time since August as I've been doing it myself. However, at £85 for colour and cut I might have to revert to doing it myself. On the plus side, the owner had completely redesigned the salon for Covid- 19 safety.
Being alone is becoming second nature to me now, but it's not something I enjoy. Fortunately I'm busy or I really would miss just being able to pop out when I feel like it, but I'm lucky to have woodland on the doorstep.
It was so heartening to see the first patients having the jabs yesterday, so a far brighter future is coming, we just have to hang on and we will beat this.
Good morning Mick and all
It’s grey here in S E Essex, I am off to the gym mid morning after bed changing and this afternoon I must do some hand washing???? Not very exciting, but hey ho!
Keep safe and well folks ??
Good morning all from the Scottish Borders. Still dark. Still cold.
Mick I'm sure a quiet, warm Christmas is in order this year for many people and count our blessings.
Very glad to hear that things are settling down in DD's household grandMatte
If it's anything like me and my DD....
I once asked her if she spoke to her MiL the way she spoke to me? Of course not! I'm sure your loving help is appreciated.
DS has arrived safely home in NZ so that's a relief. He's in a quarantine hotel run by the army. He showed me around his ensuite room and it looks really nice.
Nothing much planned for today. A coffee morning on zoom perhaps.
Good to see a post from you, Grammaretto.
We’ve all been thinking about you as you start to rebuild your life. Sending you kind thoughts- a coffee morning on Zoom sounds like a plan! ☕️ Enjoy!
Good morning from rainy Colchester. Looks like the weather may have scuppered our Wednesday meetup. I have to walk into town anyway as I have an appointment at the optician.
Much love to all xx
Good morning from a dark, damp NE.
Sainsbury's delivery this morning.
Telephone appointment with my Consultant this afternoon.
My lovely hairdresser turned up yesterday, I only have a cut and blow dry but it lifts the spirits.
An old friend , who lives a few streets away, rang the doorbell with a card. He is 92 and lives on his own and cooks and cleans since his wife died last year. We had a nice chat but he says he has macular degeneration and his hearing was not as good.
I thought to myself "if I am half as agile as you are I would be happy".
Stay safe.
Good Morning Mick and all. Just looked out and there is a clear sky and a pink sunrise here on our bit of the S Welsh coast. Didn't get to sleep until 4 am so I feeling a bit ragged, my butler has just brought me a cup of tea too corner.
A Sainsbury's delivery at 9.30 and more laundry to sort, where does it all come from.
Wishing everyone a pleasant day, stay safe everyone.
Good morning everyone from Inverness where it’s a grey damp start to the day
What a shame the leak in the hall is still there kitty you must be really fed up with it by now ?
Yesterday was quite a busy day with a walk by the river Ness in town, a bit of shopping and then the gym for a quick relaxing swim- thoroughly enjoyed it as again I was the only one in the pool!
Today I’m off to meet my friend for coffee and then on standby to pick up the DGC later. Their dad usually picks them up but as he’s a postman he’s so busy just now and can’t always get to school on time.
Hope everyone finds something to enjoy today however small and take care whatever the day brings ?
Good morning everyone from a wet Essex by the sea, it also feels a little warmer than yesterday.
Both of the Christmas parcels sent to my daughters arrived yesterday so had lovely chats with both of them. We may see one of them over Christmas but not the other, such a shame but hey ho no different to many families.
DH says he's 'going out on his own' this morning, hopefully he finds me something nice for Christmas, luckily I've given him a list.
I need to walk up to the PO to deposit a cheque, then I have a lasagne to make. Exciting day eh !!!
Enjoy today and stay safe everyone xx
