Evening all, thinking of my kitchen friends
What decade were your grandparents born?
Desperately sad story of the assisted suicide of a grieving mother
I hope no-one else has done this or we will get confused- which we all know is very easily done.
Bubbly on the side just in case any one else turns up.
If not, see you tomorrow.
Sleep tight, don't let the bed bugs bite
Evening all, thinking of my kitchen friends
I have sorted the left over Christmas paper, ribbons, bows, gift tags and cards today. All stored in separate clear zip lock bags. Do you think I have too much time on my hands?
?
Banana cake on the table ...
Just popping in and will tidy up in readiness for soop ‘s return ?
I spy a plate of banana cake, perfect for elevenses later Nannytopsy. Very kind of you.
Sending wishes for everyone to keep well and safe and may all who are in hospital or feeling poorly or waiting for Covid test results have some good results today that cheers them.
Great news today! with the Oxford vaccine getting the go ahead. We need more of that type of news for sure.
Grandmafrench what are your options for a vaccine I wondered?
Nannytopsy would you consider coming here for a few days? I will stay well out of your way- in fact, when you see the house you will have me running down the road. Ziplock bags are a distant memory. Tara likes it.

Hi kitcheners isn't today the day that BT are supposedly sorting out our soops conectivity ?
I have just sorted out my in/out PM's so if we have swapped messages and you get that horrid deleted at sanders request it is not personal just me having an early spring clean of my iPad etc.

GrannyGravy yes, this is the right date but have you got the correct year? The "service", for want of a better word, has been appalling.
I hope that they will be compensated for the appalling service Charleygirl5
Just popping in to see if soop has returned but sadly not☹️
Oh GrannyGravy, you sweet old-fashioned thing.....there can’t be many peeps left who understand the complicated workings of the BT diary! You’re just too trusting ?. Think Charley’s got their number - in more ways than one. There will undoubtedly be some further delay or other : snow, too much, wrong snow, ice, fog, high winds, missing parts, missing brain cells, missing diary, missing staff. I reckon by the time the soops re-appear, life may have changed out there on the interwebby thing. Perhaps COVID will be gone. If that’s a chance, I’m sure our Head Kitchen lady will feel that this enforced absence and further loss of freedom will not have been in vain. Hope you’re ok., Mr and Mrs S and having a good rest.
In France, (?♀️ Puzzler) the most vulnerable have started being inoculated. The elderly are next.....of course my being in the first flush of youth, it won’t be my turn for many months yet! ? My options, quite seriously, are good - especially since the general view is that maybe only 40% of the normally hypochondriac French will take up the vaccine offer. This should mean that with all the millions of doses available with a view to the completion of this mammoth exercise listed for May, there should be plenty to go around.
Numbers of friends have made the larky comment that they’ll be quite happy to watch the British ‘go first’; but they’re just the same here with the flu vaccine each year. I wasn’t very keen but my Doctor is a mine of information and support. She says that she’ll not hesitate. And what else have we got, to escape from this hellish and anxious way to live, so I think Himself and I will respond positively when we receive our invitation.
I really fancy a slice of banana cake now. Aren’t they such difficult things to eat just at the right stage of ripeness. It’s almost easier to enjoy them in cake.
The sun went down in a ginger blaze this evening and we had the treat of a flamingo flypast. How I love those big birds.
Prawns and linguine for supper and a G&T beforehand. Going to plan a New Year’s Day meal - have to welcome (desperately) a year to replace the rubbish one we’ve been stuck with until now. Have a good evening, Kitcheners. Anyone sad or poorly, sending you hugs and hopes that you’ll feel lots better soon. Stay safe. A
TOYA. ?
We are having prawns with pasta tonight too! Tagliatelle here, with added salmon ?
Popped in hoping to see soop but it seems that I'm to be disappointed. I had internet problems that dragged on back in the Autumn and soop was very supportive and kind. I just wish I could do something for her.
I went for a walk this morning on a quiet beach near us, well away from the crowds on the seafront. The sea was steely grey but calm and it wasn't cold, but goodness it is much colder now. I have made some soup ( the edible variety - sorry soop!) from the remaining veg in the fridge and a butternut squash and there is plenty left for kitcheners.
Good news about the vaccine isn't it. Sending kind thoughts and best wishes to all who need them, the * Panaches* and hope that Cherry is well and that * Mr Doodle* is getting easier, annsixty's hope your grandson makes a full recovery.I

I just popped in to see soop. No such luck! Poor thing.
No galen either?

BT, “blasts and fogs upon them”, have let Soop down again. The promised “engineer” did not even turn up today! It’s truly appalling.
I told soop you are all missing her and sending love. I also told her you were all sending growls and snarls in the direction of Argyll BT. ?
Grandmafrench the French reluctance is probably because they’ve not had numerous blood tests that tell them to..
Sorry Jax, explain?
Evening all. No soop I see.
?
I’ve been for some blood tests this afternoon. Mostly annual routine MOT ones but with one or two extras because of symptoms. I’m a health worrier at the best of times so waiting for the results will be on my mind now.
It’s great news isn’t it though about the AZ vaccine? Just listening earlier to Professor Van Tam reassured me. This really is going to be a game changer.
Hope everybody has a peaceful evening. x
Grandmafrench when we lived in France, the French were very keen on blood tests to define their well being or not, this was 2015-18 in the s east.
Oh, sorry, see what you mean. I’ve had so many blood tests since living here that I possibly could have written Tony Hancock’s Blood Donor sketch myself. I may have 2 empty arms by now! ??
Evening all. If soop doesn’t come home to the kitchen soon we will have to target BT with placards and mount a revolution.
Lins your walk sounds lovely. I wish I could have joined you.
Urms sorry you are anxious about your blood tests, hope the results are fine and you have nothing to worry about.
Hope everyone else is ok.
Urmstongran I share your health anxiety, you sort of want to know if there’s something wrong, but would rather they were all normal, or something very minor...or the problem would just magic away.
Urmston I hope your worries are unfounded. I recently had a number of blood and other tests because of symptoms and I sympathise. I'm missing Soop! I hope the Internet is restored to her quickly. It has been so cold today. Lots of ice and frost and no chance of the snow lifting yet. I had a visit from dgs and sil today as dd was working. It was lovely to see them. I'm very fortunate. Apart from that, I've lived quietly and pottered a little. Tomorrow will be busy as I'll have to get food for New Year's day, clean the house, wash the bedding and go get ds. His partner and her family have tested positive for the virus. They have flu like symptoms and luckily he hasn't seen her since mid November because of local lock downs so he won't have caught it. The house cleaning is a hangover from when I was young. Mum always cleaned everything on Hogmanay and I've just followed suit, as has dd! So a lazy night for me before the mayhem of tomorrow. Have a good night all.
That would be lovely Doodle.
I've been chuckling here, my use of bold in my last post was a bit hit and miss! I am only slowly getting used to using a new tablet, a Christmas present, my old iPad finally gave up the ghost.
I'm sure your blood tests will be fine Urm.
I think it might be time to send in the grans. bags please send soop we miss her.
I expect soop is hopping mad with frustration by now. One thing that may cheer her up when she finally gets back to us is that in her name we have carried on. Doing what soop would want us to do, keeping the kitchen going. A warm and cosy place for all. Come back soon soop
