I hope no-one else has done this or we will get confused- which we all know is very easily done.

Bubbly on the side just in case any one else turns up.

If not, see you tomorrow.

Sleep tight, don't let the bed bugs bite

Just popping in to wish you all a merry Christmas ? ???

FaceTimed the youngest sons and family had a small tear (as did they) will speak to elder ones later.

So different to our last Christmas at home four years ago, eighteen of us here it was my Mums last and she was very poorly. Chaos and merriment combined.

Keep safe, well and smile ????

Adding my good wishes to you all this Christmas morning.
Cold outside but fairly bright, no snow yet.
I am late but off to get my breakfast now.
Have the best day you can everyone.

NanaandGrampy Fri 25-Dec-20 09:28:26

Happy Christmas one and all !!

What would we do without technology in these strange times?
The little boys have already facetimed us to show us the new pants they got ( it was a fashion parade!!) and then from the bath where they were demonstrating their new bath bombs and magic flannel's !! Well done Mummy for the clever plot to get them in the bath !!

I remember well the sheer excitement of wondering if ' He' had been. Its a very different year this year and it has made me understand how people feel who have to be separated from family by distance in a normal year.

Santa has promised me a 'do-over' as soon as possible so I'll be holding on to that !!

Wishing all the kitcheners, our very special hostess Soop and any visitors a very Merry Christmas abd a very much better 2021.

From both of us and Sam !!

Happy Christmas lovely Kitcheners!!

I remember lots of manic Christmases and this year we have received lots of videos (already!) of excited small people opening presents - its lovely to see them.

Quiet day for us but still with turkey and all the usual accompaniments.

Have the best day possible!

Charleygirl5 Fri 25-Dec-20 09:09:59

Puzzler being Scottish I cannot allow the free gift of electricity pass me by so the dishwasher has run its course, the washing machine is on with another load waiting.

For many reasons, I prefer to treat this as a near normal day but I will enjoy a lovely meal with wine this evening.

Tara is mumping and moaning about the food- what can be more normal than that?
Happy Christmas.

Wishing all the lovely kitcheners a very Merry Christmas! ? ??

GrannySomerset Fri 25-Dec-20 08:50:48

Christmas greetings from North Somerset where there is frost sparkling in the sunshine and, like many of you, I am remembering long ago Christmases when the house was not quiet and still but full of excited little voices and a very busy day ahead. Happy Christmas, Good Morningers!

Puzzler61 Fri 25-Dec-20 08:46:30

Charleygirl Enjoy your free gift of electricity. There’s not much for free these days .... ?

Puzzler61 Fri 25-Dec-20 08:44:46

Happy Christmas wishes to Kitchen friends far and wide.
Good health, peace and happiness to everyone and I hope you all have a contented day.
And now to start preparing that Christmas Lunch (a pair of partridges are centre stage today - I’ve never cooked them before).
Wish me luck ....... ?

Lins1066 Fri 25-Dec-20 08:19:13

I wish everyone a Merry Christmas, Nadolig Llawen.
I am still in bed and there is the most beautiful sunrise after all the rain of recent days. Thank you to all the GN's who have shown me such kindness and support over the last very difficult year. I too am thinking of our two children calling to each other on Christmas morning ' He's been!' and my father announcing at the dinner table ' Well the Queen won't have had better than this at Buckingham Palace'. Bless him.
Hope you all have the best day possible. Best wishes to Mr Doodle.

Charleygirl5 Fri 25-Dec-20 08:18:45

Happy Christmas to all- next year I must start "sleep classes" because some of you do not get a night's sleep. I have had 8 hours, if Tara had not woken me and I was not getting 4 hours free electricity this morning I could easily be there.

Please try to pace yourselves, at least most are not cooking for the army today so it should be more relaxed.
Enjoy!

Urmstongran Fri 25-Dec-20 08:09:10

Happy Christmas everyone. x

Susan56 Fri 25-Dec-20 08:08:20

Merry Christmas everyone ?????

cornergran Fri 25-Dec-20 08:01:36

Those Christmas memories are precious maw. My favourite Christmas photo is of two small children with the biggest smiles sitting in our bed hugging something from a stocking. I can’t quite see what it was that delighted them so much, doubt they can remember, it matters not simply a precious time.

Merry Christmas everyone.

suzette1613 Fri 25-Dec-20 06:04:10

Merry Christmas to everyone.
Gransnet has been a Godsend to me during this long and dark year.

grandMattie Fri 25-Dec-20 05:43:28

And Happy Christmas to everyone.

grandMattie Fri 25-Dec-20 05:43:02

Ah yes, I do, so well. Mine were banned from seeing the presents, which were in the living room (obviating the reluctance of DD to allow a "stange man" into her bedroom!), only allowed to open ONE thing from their stockings until 7 am, when they opened them on our bed, and then the grand entrance in the living room. Then, one year when she was quite young, DD commented that "we never gave her -anything_ !

MawBe Fri 25-Dec-20 05:32:22

Merry Christmas dear Kitcheners !

A Christmas Day to remember? Or one best forgotten?

Whichever you feel it is for you, may I wish you the peace and joy of all our Christmases now and over the years .
Do you like me remember those Christmas mornings when the tinies woke us at sparrow far with “Santa’s been!”
From getting the turkey in just a couple of hours later before church right up to that feeling of exhaustion but satisfaction at the end of the day- Granny and Grandpa dozing in an armchair, DH clearing the carnage in the kitchen, children playing with new toys and in your heart, you echoed Tiny Tim’s “God bless us, every one”

Nannytopsy Fri 25-Dec-20 03:45:48

Some Christmas flowers for you all. I don’t think I will make it tomorrow, so I will wish you all the happiest Christmas possible and a much better year.
Like Mawbe’s area, we have flooding all around the village and houses in the village flooded with field run off. What an awful end to an awful year.
Love to all you wonderful people.

mamaa Fri 25-Dec-20 00:03:36

Happy Christmas to all xx

Bellanonna Thu 24-Dec-20 23:55:19

Just another 5 minutes to Christmas Day - perhaps the strangest one I can remember. However you spend it I hope it’s relaxed and happy. Thinking especially of Soop and looking forward to seeing her back in the New Year.

Feelingmyage55 Thu 24-Dec-20 23:16:13

Here I am just waiting for the online Watchnight service to begin. I wish you all a merry Christmas even though it is so different. If we have a roof, warmth and food we are still better off then many. Hopefully the New Year will at some point bring joyous reunions and we have been reminded how much we care for our family, friends, neighbours and colleagues.

Doodle Thu 24-Dec-20 22:35:18

cornergran good to hear you have got your scan booked so quickly. Hope it goes well and things are ok.
morethan thank you for letting us know how you all are. I think of you often. Lovely photo of your DGC. A difficult year for all of you. I hope you all have a peaceful Christmas.

ann hope your DGD is feeling a bit better.
Galen glad you are feeling a bit better.

Thanks for all your kind thoughts about DH. There is a slight chance he might be able to come home tomorrow afternoon. I’m keeping everything crossed ?
