Good Morning Everyone,
Its dark, and its throwing down with rain outside here in brackley this morning.
Quiet day , may nip out later otherwise I will stay in, when out yesterday I was starting to see fewer people about .
What the week will bring will be interesting to see .
Take Care,
Mick

Good morning from a dark E Kent. The roads will be chocca today with the channel ports being closed. Thanks Macron!
Shortest day today. More daylight, better weather, more cheer?
Nothing on today. Might make some mince pies asDH was too sad at my reluctance to bake...
Have a good day, be kind to yourselves, stay safe. X

Scentia Mon 21-Dec-20 06:30:14

Good Morning all from East Staffordshire where it is still dark and feels mild.
Today will be much of the same as yesterday, I am getting bored already and I am only on my first days’ holiday. I would usually be off out with DD around some Christmas Market spending money and drinking Gleuvhien (sp?).
We had a phone call yesterday to say our visit to see DFiL in his care home is now off. The telephone call to him from DH last night was hilarious! He is deaf and rather confused, we were crying with laughter as we tried to get him to hear us on the phone!! Bless him, the home have done do well to keep him safe since March and I will always be grateful for that.❤️
Take care everyone and stay safe today.
Great to hear Gilly is well and can’t wait for her to post again.

Good morning from a cool NE.
Yesterday was a dead loss, DH's birthday but felt too sickly to enjoy a drink.
Skype calls with DD and then DS and family later, lovely to see the GDs.
Gentle housework today.

Beechnut Mon 21-Dec-20 06:47:17

To you all who post, look in and those who are missed, have a lovely day.
Love from the Beechnut house xx?

grandMattie Mon 21-Dec-20 06:48:32

What a cheerful card, Beech. Thank you and happy Christmas to you and yours. And everyone, of course!

Beechnut Mon 21-Dec-20 06:51:16

Good Morning everyone from Severnside. It is dark and wet. We are on the right side of dark mornings at last.

An errand to run this morning and the last of my cards to deliver. Any housework done this week will be mornings only so I can carry on and watch the soppy afternoon films.

Stay safe ?

Beauregard Mon 21-Dec-20 06:51:18

Good morning all from rainy Derbyshire.

An early shop this morning to get the last few things for Christmas. Hoping that it won't be too busy in the store.

Present wrapping later, then if it's dry enough this afternoon we'll pick Brussels, parsnips and leeks for us and DD ready for Christmas.

Take care everyone.

Beauregard Mon 21-Dec-20 06:52:44

Lovely card Beechnut

Beechnut Mon 21-Dec-20 06:53:45

Mattie ??

Scentia Mon 21-Dec-20 06:53:50

Thanks Beechnut. Right back at ya!!!

Ashcombe Mon 21-Dec-20 06:55:49

Good morning from a damp, mild Torbay.

Some good news: I should be able to have my car back today.....! It’s only six weeks and a day since the accident. The plan is for the guy from the garage to deliver it to Enterprise from where I’ll collect it as I return my hire car.

Despite a heavy shower just beforehand, our outdoor Community Carol Service yesterday afternoon was well attended, and ably led by our priest and Torbay Brass Band, who seemed glad of the chance to play. It didn’t go unnoticed that our (Tory) MP arrived late and couldn’t be clearly heard, despite a perfectly adequate sound system. His reading was about the wise men, who were also late to the party all those years ago!

The French are being very awkward at the points of entry currently and I’m sorry for those living near to the ports like grandMattie and all the drivers caught up in this nightmare.

Scentia’s reference to Glühwein reminds me of a cruise to the Christmas markets undertaken with DH2 two years ago. It was his first experience of cruising and despite his previous misgivings, he thoroughly enjoyed it. A world away from now....

Thank you for that super card , Beechnut - a lovely idea! Wishing you all good cheer as we count down to Christmas. ?⛄️??

Good morning from north Surrey.
Had a bit of a wobble yesterday and couldn’t bring myself to post but did read everyone’s news. Great to hear Gilly news and to see the return of mellow/Viridian
Urmstongran hope the pain has eased today
Family all affected by Tier 4. DS drove to Stonehenge on Saturday evening to meet up with his “MIL” who drove from Devon to exchange presents. He said the car park was full of others doing the same thing and quite a camaraderie amongst them
We had a family Zoom yesterday which started in quite a somber mood but we did manage some laughs eventually and have arranged a Christmas themed quiz for Christmas Eve
Will continue to visit mum and dad, they are also in Tier 4. They are dependent on us for shopping and both need well-being support from us. But we will wear a mask now and no hugs or cups of tea with them. Sister said dad gets it but mum not so sure. My mum was a nurse and has always been the matriarch of our family, it is sad to see her so changed
Today I am back in control and feeling strong. My AC and GC need their mum/granny to be positive and happy
Stay safe to all and make the best of what you have

Good morning all from a dark, damp S Hants. Lovely card Beechnut thank you and to you, ?
Well, we got all the wrapping done yesterday, a real team job and a clearer spare room. DH last day at work today for a couple of weeks, we rub along fine and I’ll enjoy the company.
I have his presents to wrap today and a bit of housework to do, other than that, a quiet day...for a change! Hope Mr Doodle is home today.
Have a peaceful day all.

Good morning all. It is pitch black and chucking it down so I don’t think I’ll be going anywhere or doing much today. The day’s seem to alternate don’t they? Yesterday was glorious , today dire.
I am so sorry Harrigran and her DH were not able to “enjoy” his birthday, however much we take these things in our stride, it is still sad.
Feel a bit of a pall of gloom after being plunged into Tier 4, but more for everybody else among our family and friends - and here on GM - who are more affected than I (full freezer, no need to do very much, few pressures) thinking more of those with Covid symptoms, or who may be awaiting test results, or in need of medical help and the prospect of long waits. It’s hard not to let the anxieties build up and sweep over us.
Just relieved in a way that we didn’t have to face this while Paw was alive - I honestly don’t know how I’d have coped - how some of you are coping.
Wishing you all a gentle day. ?

brook2704 Mon 21-Dec-20 07:25:13

Good morning everyone from a dark Inverness, thank goodness it’s the shortest day today and the days will gradually lengthen.
What a beautiful card Beechnut thank you and a very Happy Christmas to you and all on this lovely friendly thread.
Today I’ve got a shopping slot booked at M&S to enter the food hall - quite strange really having to book to enter the shop but obviously needed to maintain social distancing. I’m going to feel quite bad queue jumping as a lot of people haven’t been able to get a slot or they didn’t realise that they should book.
Sorry your DH didn’t have a very good birthday harrigran ?
Great news about your car Ashcombe it’s taken such a long time!
Hope everyone finds something to enjoy today and take care whatever the day brings ?

brook2704 Mon 21-Dec-20 07:27:40

Congratulations Susan56 some lovely news!

kittylester Mon 21-Dec-20 07:28:11

Good morning all from a wet North Leicestershire.

Final bit of wrapping for me today and we will have a clear spare room too.

Take care to stay safe everyone.

NanKate Mon 21-Dec-20 07:33:45

Good morning Mick and All.

It’s dark and damp in South Bucks today.

We decided to send our DS and DGSs Christmas presents by carrier today as we are grounded in Tier 4. It took DH hours to pack and repack the gifts so that they arrive in tact. It was our DS’s idea as he regularly uses this company to transport his books. Well I jolly well hope it all works. DH crawled into bed at 2.00am ?

Thank you for the lovely card Beechnut.

Lins1066 Mon 21-Dec-20 07:34:00

Good morning Mick and all. It is dark and wet here on the S Welsh coast. There have been some very high tides this week. Many of the little boats in the harbour are decorated with coloured lights. So good to hear that gilly is fine and send her love and look forward to her posting again.
Thank you for the pretty card Beechnut, hope you have a good day too. I finished wrapping the presents yesterday so I must tackle some ironing, deliver the neighbours cards and ice the cake today.
Hope Cherry will have a better day today.
Your Carol Service service sounds good Ash, I like a brass band. I remember the Salvation Army band playing carols in town in the run up to Christmas. Glad you finally have your car back.
Stay safe everyone.

GrannyGravy13 Mon 21-Dec-20 07:34:01

Good morning Mick and all

It’s still dark and it’s raining here in S E Essex. No plans for today other than sort out the fridge (how exciting)

Thank you for the beautiful Christmas card Beechnut wishing you and all morningers a peaceful Christmas and a healthy 2021.

Keep safe and well folks ???

Bellasnana Mon 21-Dec-20 07:34:05

Good morning from Malta where it has been raining so hard that certain roads have turned into rivers. This is an annual occurrence.

Beechnut your card is lovely, so thoughtful and kind.

So sorry you felt rotten yesterday harrigran. Hope you are doing better today.?

Ashcombe how lovely to have the carol service outdoors. DD3 and I usually go to the Anglican cathedral in Valletta for the service of nine lessons and carols which we’ve done since the children were small . It’s our traditional start to Christmas, but of course it is cancelled this year.

Dwm sorry you had a down day yesterday. It’s horrible while it lasts.

Take care everyone. It is a very tough time to be going through for everyone but made worse for those suffering from illness, loneliness and other worries.☀️

NanKate Mon 21-Dec-20 07:34:50

Morning Kitty ?
