What are you hoping for from Santa?

Hello Everyone tchsmile
I'm shamelessly asking for last minute present inspiration for both myself and DH.

I know that he really wants to exchange gifts this year (even though I choose them myself.)
I only shop online, which is just as well...

I had my eye on a Swarovski bracelet but it's now it's out of stock (I have a feeling that they do this with sale items at this time of year.)

So, what are you hoping for in your stocking?
(Obviously, a vaccine and smooth Brexit go without saying!)

Thank you all tchsmileflowers

I have recently bought a copy of Enid Blytons Five On A Treasure Island as I so enjoyed The Famous Five books as a child. I thought I would pass on but their laughter would be uncontrolled with one of the children called Dick, their aunt Fanny and Georgina, called George as she hated being a girl. “ I’m George, I hate being a girl, I won’t be.”

The book I am reading was first published in 1942. I just remember it as a good read. However I don’t think I will pass it on!

Barack Obama’s book would be lovely but we have said children only except home made or cheap and quirky. My son came by with his every year gift of home-made truffles. He is an excellent baker and truffle maker. Dreamily wonderful ; Christmas may have come already.

I come from a long line of Nelly/Ellens. It stopped at me.

My grandson, nearly twelve, read all the Famous Five books when he was younger. I never liked them myself, but he seemed to enjoy them. He made no comment about the names. I think he realised they were books from another age when things were different.

The only present I ‘d like for Christmas is some flowers. I’ve already had a parcel from one son containing home-made marmalade, home-grown sprouts, and Christmas cake he made from my mother’s recipe, as he does every year. The family recipe skipped my generation - I’m not interested in cooking.

Having just got back from a tedious journey (essential and within Tier!) I would wish for Santa to use his magic so all car drivers know what those blinking indicator lights on their cars are for!!!

Greciangirl Mon 21-Dec-20 15:10:16

I’m not expecting anything. So I won’t be disappointed then.

kittylester

Ear plugs.

I've bought dh a saxophone and lessons!

Excellent

Dear Santa
1. Can I have Christmas Day with blue skies (fed up with all the rain).
2. DH to take (Christmas) day off (his work list is never ending). We can then do a costal walk together with our dog.

Hope everyone gets their wishes. smile

I know there are some slippers under the tree from my daughter but that apart nothing. My husband waits untI'll Xmas eve, but we are Tier 4 & I'm still waiting for my Covid test result, so we can't go out. I think he's feeling a bit sheepish!

MiniMoon Mon 21-Dec-20 15:22:18

I don't want anything in particular this year, I'm just happy to be fit and healthy.
I am hoping against hope that my gift for my husband arrives in time for Christmas.
I ordered him a Black Forest Cuckoo clock in November. They told me that it would be dispatched on Monday or Tuesday last week, and that I would receive it in about 5 working days.
I bet it's being held up on the way from Germany.
They did say that if I didn't receive it in time, that I would qualify for a partial refund.
I don't want any money back, I just want my clock!

MiniMoon Mon 21-Dec-20 15:29:16

Oh, I meant to say that I did mention to DD that I would like a kalimba. I'm hoping that the rectangular gift under my tree may be one of those. ?

I would like a competent Prime Minister in Number 10, please.

Gwenisgreat1 Mon 21-Dec-20 15:53:13

Have to admit, I don't really want anything apart from 'Normal' life and a blank cheque!!

Romola Mon 21-Dec-20 16:54:53

A vaccine, obviously!

Romola

A vaccine, obviously!

Quite tchgrin

FannyCornforth Mon 21-Dec-20 17:26:43

I really don't want to be a Grinch, but this thread is about gifts.
Of course we all want a vaccine.

OH and myself haven’t exchanged presents for years since we buy what we want when we want. However this year as we shall be alone he has surprised me with some gifts. I am quite excited to open them.

Alioop Mon 21-Dec-20 17:58:25

Josh Grogan cd, but I knew no one would buy me it, so my wee dog has filled me a stocking with one in it plus all my favourite sweets, a book and a hat for cold morning walkies. What an awful clever dog she is!!

FannyCornforth Mon 21-Dec-20 18:23:45

4xGranny how lovely! I do hope that he has done you proud.
I should imagine that you are most intrigued!

FannyCornforth Mon 21-Dec-20 18:25:07

Alioop dogs really are the most thoughtful of gift buyers. One wonders how they do it...

Mollygo Mon 21-Dec-20 18:33:27

I’m not really hoping for anything. I’d like the BBC to stop boosting the bad news and perhaps a zip for Laura Keunssberg’s mouth or a paper bag for her miserable face. So now you know how awful I am.
I have to pretend I don’t know, but my DH heard me saying my make up bag was past it and has bought me a new one. I know that because he asked me so many questions about size, material etc. What I really don’t know is what he has filled it with. It won’t be handcream or bodylotion because he knows I have loads of that. It adds a bit of excitement.

Blossoming Mon 21-Dec-20 18:44:38

We are supposed to be giving each other one present, selected from a list of a few possible choices, but I know he’s got me a few small stocking fillers. I’ve done the same, just fun things and a bit silly.

mimismo Mon 21-Dec-20 18:52:43

We haven't got a dog but I'm still getting a stocking, from Santa of course!

Jaxjacky Mon 21-Dec-20 18:58:46

So FannyCornforth have you decided on your gifts? I’m fortunate, no actual presents I desire, although there are some wrapped by the tree that I will be very grateful for. I’d really like the family hugs, so missing. But, DH bought me flowers at the weekend, I have a poinsettia a friend dropped in (I warned her it won’t last long) and food, drinks a plenty, I’m lucky.

Nanna58 Mon 21-Dec-20 19:23:30

After 8 months of building work ( damp , so necessary not through choice) I should have a new kitchen by middle of January. So some new canisters, breadbin etc would be welcome

Theoddbird Mon 21-Dec-20 19:25:45

Peace and Hope....I want nothing else...
