Tights,pop socks or woolly socks?

Always wear tights as I feel the cold, even under lined trousers!

Bin them! I can’t put them on. If I’m wearing a dress and it’s warm I have bare legs, if it’s cold I wear leggings. I love woolly socks though.

I wear leggings under skirts and under trousers. I can no longer put socks on so I got fleecy insoles which I wear inside large enough trainers.

Such skirts as I have are elasticated -waist long Liberty skirts.

Wore a pair to a funeral 3 years ago, not worn any since.

Woolly sox for walking in wellies in Winter, bare legs the rest of the year.

But, I still have a pair of thick grey tights that look so cosy and I’ve kept them still in their packet for 15 years or so. I would have given them to DDs or GD but they are all nearly 6 ft tall and I’m not!

I keep one good thick black pair. Just in case.
Never wear them out of wintertime.
I prefer trousers and socks in winter. Cotton ones, not woolly (make me itch).

Oopsadaisy you may find they’ve disintegrated when you do open the box. 15 years is a long time. ?

I haven’t worn tights for years hate them! When it’s cold I wear long socks under long skirts!

Puzzler oh I hope not they are woolly ones and cost me a fortune.
I must go and dig them out and have a look.

I was thinking the same thing about all those paurs of tights lurking in my drawer too. I've not worn a pair of tights or pop socks since last March and don't expect to have to ever again. Same with the high heeled shoes, business suits, dresses and jackets.

Where do you get your long socks from?

I hate feeling constricted in tights. In addition I'm chubby but small so I rarely get any to fit properly. I go bare footed most of the time. Woolly socks when wearing wellies

Thermal tights, yet to be worn, but maybe soon looking at the forecast, will wear under jeans. Otherwise socks in winter, thermal socks if really cold.

I'm another who hates tights and haven't worn them for years. But I do feel the cold and often wear thermal leggings under trousers with short socks. If it's warmer I wear just knee high socks. I have a good pair of lined trousers for walking and I have even been know to wear thermal leggings with them as well. I never wear skirts.

I only wear dresses on hot summer days with those little 'sockettes' as I can't go bare-footed.
With trousers the rest of the time it's knee-length socks which are increasingly difficult to find unless you only want black or grey which is why I'm attempting to knit them myself.

I don’t even own a dress or skirt.
Barefoot in summer. Socks on winter.
I have bags of tights since I retired 12 years ago!! Keep natural and black pop socks to wear with black trousers in case I need to go to a funeral or to dress up.

I hate tights. If I'm wearing a dress I wear leggings underneath, woolly socks and lace up boots. I have some boots made of water-resistant wool now too. Great for cold feet.

Haven't worn tights for years. When they first came out they were so much more comfortable than stockings and suspender belt. Now I find them really incomfortable.

So it's hold-ups for posh occasions, otherwise trousers and socks (tights underneath make me feel colder, anyway) or long socks with long skirts.

Old tights can be recycled into lots of thing, so don’t just bin them.
One pair (one leg inside other) is used to hold the legs of the high chair when not in use by visiting grandchildren
Cut in strips they make excellent plant ties.
I’ve just turned a pair into fairy wings for GD, with 2 wire coathangers.
OH uses to strain spray for garden use so it doesn’t clog sprayer.
There are probably lots of other ideas.?

I wear thick woolly tights and thermals I have been plagued with osteoarthritis since my early fifties. I feel the cold most of the time I am always wrapped up apart from the summertime.
