Good Morning Everyone,
Its dark but looking cold outside here in Brackley this morning.
No sign of any snow yet here though.
Quiet day for me some laundry and housework today .
Take Care,
Mick

Scentia Mon 28-Dec-20 06:16:26

Good Morning Mick and all to follow from East Staffordshire where it is still dark and feels cold.
I am off swimming soon and then need to go to a shop to get DH and DD their birthday cards and presents.
I will pop some laundry into the factory where my tumble dryer lives!
Not a lot else planned for the day.
Take care everyone and stay safe❤️

Good morning from Malta where the weather is a bit chilly and showers are forecast. It isn’t a bank holiday here, only Christmas Day and New Year’s Day are holidays here.

Yesterday I picked the wrong time to pop to the shop as I got caught in a hail shower! It’s only a two minute walk but I looked like a drowned rat.

Had a lovely FaceTime with my girls in the US. Warms my heart to see them together and DGD having some fun with her mum and auntie.

No plans for today. I might take the tree down as it gets on my nerves once Christmas is over.

Hope you all have the best day you can.☀️

Morning Mick, morning All from a dark, cold, damp corner of Somerset. A disturbed night for me, just one of those things. A walk for us if the day brightens otherwise a task planning session for the next month, a new gizmo to attach to the computer (luck needed), on line grocery order to finish. Back to business as usual I think. Wishing you all some brightness in your day, take care.

Good Morning everyone from Severnside where it is snowing.

I’ve got some turkey to finish and some fresh veg to go with it. I might make a dessert of some sort.
I’ve got some sewing I could do as well. Good idea to get stuck into something different as I’m sick of the tele. I can’t seem to find anything I want to watch and settle with.

Stay safe all whatever you do ?

Morning all from a damp north Wales- not sure why I’m awake so early but I’ve had my eight hours ration and feel quite chirpy!

We also got caught in a hailstorm yesterday Bellasnana! Decided to clear the cobwebs with a brisk trot around the village- soon dashed back with our tails between our legs! Here’s hoping LauraNorder is sending me some better weather from the island, I’ve washing piling up!

Will pop along later to read your bizziness - hope you’re all not as bored as me.....?

Good morning from E Kent.
Dark isn’t it? Only just woken up, about 2 hours later than usual. I wonder why I had a reasonable night.
Done nothing, doing nothing... a bit of sewing, tarting up turkey for DH. If I’m lucky, chat to one or more of my DC.
Have a good day and be kind to yourselves. Stay safe. X

Morning Mick and All.

Dark, cold and dismal in South Bucks.

Before we moved into Tier 4 DH made a brief visit to our bubble where they all had colds. DH succumbed too and now he has kindly passed it to me, fortunately it is nothing more serious. I will forego my daily walk and hunker down.

It doesn’t feel like a Bank Holiday.

Good morning to one and all from a damp but calm Torbay,

Thank you all very much for your kind comments about my poem yesterday which made this old lady very happy. I hope CherryCezzy might rediscover her poetry writing mojo!

It’s something I started doing about 30 years ago, usually to honour someone's retirement, special birthday or the end of a successful amdram show run. Basing it on a known poem, as I did yesterday, makes it easier. My mother encouraged a love of poetry by reading her favourite ones to us and this was further developed by English teachers in school. In my college studies for Music, setting words to music was sometimes required so I expect that helped with metre, etc.

My offspring in Cheshire and Staffs have their first snow of the season this morning, as my DS discovered when his night shift ended so I hope he has a safe drive home, collecting my DGS3 en route from his mother, from whom he is separated.

I think a few of us have slept more deeply after the disturbance of the noisy storm on Saturday. After posting the poem yesterday, I discovered the wheelie bins had been partying, with one moving several metres and ending up wedged between a car and a wall!

Wishing everyone a relaxing day; take care and keep warm!

Good morning from a dark and chilly Essex by the sea.
Yesterday we went out for a short walk and then sat in the car and drank our coffee.
Today DH is going out for bread and milk and I will vacuum whilst he is gone.
Nothing else planned apart from watching football this afternoon.
Another fun day by the sea !!!
Enjoy your day and stay safe everyone xx

Good morning everyone. Dark and chilly in Dorset but weather calmer last night at least! I cant help but hope for a little snow, its hinted at in weather forecast but we rarely get it here! I've nowhere I need to be so the idea of snuggling up with a book as snow falls is lovely!

Grandmabatty Mon 28-Dec-20 08:03:09

Good morning All. It's a thick frost in Polmont and still dark with a faint hint of the morning appearing. All the cars are crusted in white and the paths are slippy. I know this as I had to go out earlier to put the food compost bin out which I'd forgotten about. I've been awake a while and had a mug of tea. Shortly I'll have another. I prefer tea on cold mornings to coffee. Today is going to be pottering and I'm looking forward to it. I hope you all have a good day.

Good morning everyone from Inverness where we’ve got quite a thick covering of snow. I think the DGC are going sledging somewhere local today so they’ll be super excited!
Yesterday morning we had a muddy wet and windy walk in the woods and then not much else for the rest of the day. Today DH will need to clear the snow from the car as I want to pop out to buy some more vegetables to make a lovely warming soup for lunch.
Hope everyone finds something to enjoy today, thinking of those with worries and struggles and stay safe whatever the day brings ?

Good morning, still dark in Leicestershire.

Meeting a friend for a walk this afternoon although being especially cautious until I get the vaccine. I keep getting letters and emails from Matt Hancock telling me to behave!
I just need a little normality.

Don’t often single people out but thinking of Maw and Mary this morning and of course Gilly.

baubles Mon 28-Dec-20 08:14:07

Good morning all from S Lanarkshire where yesterday’s snow has frozen overnight. I’ve heard a few cars slowly crunching their way along the road.
It was treacherous underfoot yesterday, the dog had very short walks.

Another day of not much to do, I shall probably finish my book and will speak to DD at some point. We’ll have to get used to this level of excitement for the next few weeks anyway.

Have a peaceful day.

NannyJan53 Mon 28-Dec-20 08:15:42

Good morning from a snowy Black Country!

Glad we had a walk with DD, girls and Mum yesterday. I am staying put today.

Making soup from the Turkey carcass is as much as I will do today.

Wishing you all a good and safe day.

ginny Mon 28-Dec-20 08:16:31

Good Morning from N. Bucks where it is chilly but still and dryish.

Not a lot happening today. Probably make a pie using up Turkey and ham. Maybe a short walk and then some craft of some sort.

Hope you all find a ?

Gagagran Mon 28-Dec-20 08:18:09

Good morning from a chilly south coast, with the sky an artist's palette of different colours from palest blue through pink, silver, to darkest grey. We are promised sleet showers today so I am glad we are not planning to go out.

I am feeling the usual post-Christmas ennui and am very tempted to take the tree down and put away the few decs. we have up. It has felt such a difficult year for us with DH's serious illness and covid always laid in wait for the unwary, that I feel as if we need a fresh start to a new year which will be a better one, we hope.

Keep safe and warm GNs!

Pittcity Mon 28-Dec-20 08:19:08

Good morning from a cold but brightening Colchester.
Wrapping up to pop to Lidl to stock up. We didn't overbuy for Christmas for the first time ever. We do have a surfeit of bread and milk, but the freezer is empty apart from fish fingers and veg.
Otherwise our usual day of nothing much...reading and TV.

kittylester Mon 28-Dec-20 08:19:45

Morning all - also from Leicestershire. It is just getting lighter here but looking very grey!!

Not a lot on here today. A couple of neighbours have already taken the decorations down but I think we need the sparkle for now!

Jaxjacky Mon 28-Dec-20 08:19:55

Good morning all from a dark but lightening S Hants, it’s frosty but raining, it must be very cold rain, possibly sleet as the frost is still there. Seven hours straight sleep, lovely. One of us needs to venture out to get some milk, other than that no plans, I’m awaiting a Moonpig card for my DS who is 30 on Saturday, we have adopted him an animal at Marwell zoo, a crocodile monitor, he loves exotic animals and keeps snakes.
Have a gentle day all and stay safe.

NannyJan53 Mon 28-Dec-20 08:20:47

I hope you recover from your cold quickly NanKate, just snuggle down and relax flowers

Sparklefizz Mon 28-Dec-20 08:20:48

Good morning all from damp and dreary South Gloucestershire.

I had a broken night, which is not unusual for me, then slept late and have a Sainsbury's delivery coming shortly so need to wake myself up for the excitement of the week! smile

Sorry you have caught a cold, NanKate and hope you can shake it off quickly. I have never had a letter from Matt Hancock, dragonfly nor the Boris letter which was doing the rounds back in the Spring, nor from my doctor's surgery like friends of mine, so I am feeling totally neglected.

Stay safe everyone, and have as good a day as possible.

Flicker Mon 28-Dec-20 08:25:15

Good morning from a beautiful frosty North East.
Perfect dog walking weather, with no cutting wind.
Lots of packing boxes still to open, so a busy day ahead! Hope everyone enjoys their last Monday of 2020.

Gingster Mon 28-Dec-20 08:27:57

Good morning all from a chilly start here in Essex. I too hope for a little snow, Dorset cupcake. We don’t often have any, and I love to see it. Just a little , so it doesn’t cause disruption. ?. We will be walking with DS and his wife this morning, over fields and woods, so a little sprinkling would be magical.

Scentia I would love to go for a swim today but all of our pools are closed . ?. It would be just the job to brighten me up.

I was just about to have my first cuppa and as I took it into the conservatory to sit and read Gransnet, my little pooch jumped up and I dropped the cup. Fortunately it bounced on a mat but I think the dog got a bit of spray in her. She won’t come in here with me now. ?.

Have as pleasant a day as possible, keep warm and cosy. ??
