I've received a few messages asking to continue the 1000 words thread. It has obviously given many people pleasure and some positivity. For anyone who doesn't know, posters come on with their photographs of pretty much anything and we take it from there. Nature is always a good one.

The last of the snow - for now!

MiniMoon Sun 17-Jan-21 19:39:48

The beautiful blue Tyne, taken on the only sunny day last week. We took advantage of the lovely day and went for a walk.

A beautiful river the Tyne, MiniMoon. Very good fly fishing. That stretch looks very fishy!

The hellebores are out!
Sorry, it's not a great photo but the best I could do without actually lying down in a puddle!

Snowdrops peeking through in one of my pots. The garden is a mess at the moment as we removed a couple of trees that were becoming a nuisance, demolished a summerhouse and built a larger shed, replaced a gate and repaired some fencing. Then the tip closed before all the debris could be cleared.

Lots of fish Greyduster. Just beyond the bridge is a weir with a fish pass. We often see the salmon leaping as they swim upstream.
Here's a view fron the other side of the bridge.

Greyduster Tue 19-Jan-21 22:14:42

Now I’ve got total fish envy!??

grannyqueenie Tue 19-Jan-21 23:03:07

I’d really been missing enjoying everyone’s photos but hadn’t noticed the thread had started again must pay more attention!
It’s all gone now but a couple of snowy ones from last week.
Thanks for getting us going again. Ellianne

A very different day out there today. The sea foam almost looked like snow!

janeainsworth Wed 20-Jan-21 15:13:40

Rainy morning at Tynemouth

Greyduster Wed 20-Jan-21 15:23:32

Tynemouth.... the best fish and chips I’ve ever eaten!

janeainsworth Wed 20-Jan-21 22:13:32

Greyduster Yes!?

MiniMoon Wed 20-Jan-21 23:19:26

I liked Casdon's cobwebs. This one was on our little apple tree.

Namsnanny Thu 21-Jan-21 21:50:01

Did somebody mention fish? grin!!

Greyduster Thu 21-Jan-21 22:23:25

Well you’re not going to find many of those swimming up the Tyne (I hope)!!

Lisagran Fri 22-Jan-21 14:31:41

Little Iris just coming up in pots

Namsnanny Fri 22-Jan-21 14:32:12

Yes I hope not too Greyduster!
A trip to an aquarium a few years ago.
I wish I could watch them from a cage underwater, but this is the next best thing.

Namsnanny Fri 22-Jan-21 14:33:37

Spring is on it's way lisagran

Callistemon Fri 22-Jan-21 15:55:15

Here's a river in full flow after the rains, all the rainwater will be pouring down from the hills and mountains. If you look closely at the second photo you will see a seagull rafting down the river on some twigs, they were thoroughly enjoying themselves.

Callistemon Fri 22-Jan-21 15:56:10

I should have added that I hope no-one on here is affected by the floods.

Namsnanny Fri 22-Jan-21 20:08:12

Two Amaryllis which should have flowered over Christmas.
I had them in the boiler room to encourage them to flower but they took their own sweet time!

And some bright scented daffs.
