I've received a few messages asking to continue the 1000 words thread. It has obviously given many people pleasure and some positivity. For anyone who doesn't know, posters come on with their photographs of pretty much anything and we take it from there. Nature is always a good one.

The sunshine today...before it snowed again

Ellianne Thu 11-Feb-21 14:40:35

Very miffed not to have any snow to photograph here! Lovely pictures!

I'm not sure if you will be able to see this without enlarging, but the white bits on the rock face are actually hanging ICICLES!

I went for a walk just before sunset yesterday. This is the photo I took of a tree in the churchyard.

A couple from the park yesterday toward late afternoon. Lots of compacted snow made walking on the paths precarious.

Spring flower snippings

I’m having one of those nights where sleep eludes me, it must be the busy life I’m leading these days...I wish!
Snow still lingering in places here but still there are signs of spring around - hurray!

My lovely daughter’s lovely garden, last summer.

Ellianne Sun 14-Feb-21 14:26:54

That looks almost tropical grandmajet. Is it in the UK? It's lovely the way it curves.

grandmajet Sun 14-Feb-21 14:43:33

It’s in south norfolk Ellianne. They’ve spent many, many hours on it over the five years they’ve been there, it is lovely, and not yet finished.

Tray of tablet...please help yourself to a piece of it

grandmajet Sun 14-Feb-21 15:54:03

Yes please! Did you make it, polomint?

polomint Sun 14-Feb-21 16:26:05

Yes I make tablet quite often

grannyqueenie Sun 14-Feb-21 17:41:32

Oh I love tablet polmont, in fact I love it so much I only make it as Christmas. I can’t be trusted not to scoff the lot! ?

grannyqueenie Sun 14-Feb-21 17:50:50

Oops sorry polomint.. got your name wrong, clearly distracted by the thought of tablet!

Play spot the difference. The beach last week, the beach this week. Half term has brought the children out, and I for one am all for giving them some fun.

Spotted growing wild on our walk today.

Greyduster Tue 16-Feb-21 18:10:02

Guess who came to dinner! He didn’t get any though - they had all scarpered! I wanted a full frontal but he wasn’t inclined to oblige!

grandmajet Tue 16-Feb-21 18:13:55

Great picture Greyduster. Sparrow hawks come to our garden too, and once took a blue tit off the peanut feeder. ?

Ellianne what a beautiful thread. First time I've seen it. Agree the nature ones are lovely.

Namsnanny I do love a moss wall or stone. I took this photo on my walk through the Japanese Garden near Cornwall's Newquay Airport last September. It's about 20 min drive away. Hope to do something like it in our new garden this year.

My last beach walk with Mya (dog) just before the first lockdown. Porth beach, Cornwall. It was more for me than her. She hates the water but likes to meet other dogs. It was so quiet. Don't think there were more than half a dozen people on the beach that day - 12 March 2020.

Happyme Tue 16-Feb-21 18:44:17

Just found this lovely thread ?. Posted this, taken during last May's lockdown, to remind me that the sunshine and warmth will return....soon.

Ellianne Wed 17-Feb-21 09:12:45

Lovely to see some new contributors, thank you for your photos. Anything goes here - nature, memories, creative works etc. (Just as long as they're your own 1000 words.)

Yes, warmth is still around us in its own way.

Morning visitors

Greyduster Wed 17-Feb-21 10:09:40

Ooh, they’re lovely! Lucky you!
