Good morning all,

I haven't read all the posts properly just yet, only a quick skim, but will come back later to read them. I have seen Marydoll's post and glad to read that she may be home later today. To all with illness and worries, I send my best wishes. ?

I'm going to get on now and take the trees down and put them away - the rooms will definitely seem bare then! Oh well, roll on Spring.

Good morning Mick and everyone else, so pleased that Marydoll is safe and being looked after, let’s hope she is well enough to go home soon.
Not much to do today, DD has been staying with us since November, she is hoping to have an op this month and wanted to be part of our bubble as she will be with us to convalesce, but today she has gone home to do some tidying up and fetch some clothes.
Our rooms look bare now that the Decs are down, so I’m moving table lamps around to brighten things up.
I’m trying not to blame anyone for the mess we find ourselves in but it’s hard watching people partying or without masks on out and about and not shouting that they are ruining lives, especially as we don’t have many left!
Anyway I must calm down and go and read a book.
Take care everyone, even more care than last time, as Urms says, 2000 in 100,000 is very scary. Stay safe, indoors in the warm, is my new motto.

Good morning all from a slightly white Lueneburg. Best wishes to Marydoll and everyone who is not feeling well. I took my dog on the bus into town yesterday, It was almost like entering a ghost town. So, I pretended to be a tourist and looked at all the beauiful buildings in leasure. I was feeling better having had a little excursion. We are now in hard lock down (Germany). I live in the countryside and it doesn`t really affect me much. I feel sorry for the children. No injection in sight, actually they are in a bit of a shambles regarding the injections here. Boris has done wll for you. Keep well.x

Good morning, Michael and all GNs. A late one for me - I slept like a top last night. We had a bit of a snow shower earlier by the look of things but it has now turned to rain. A pile of ironing on my agenda and then I may bake. We had to pick up some things from DD’s yesterday (in the drive with masks) and DH took some bread pudding over for GS to try. He looked a bit dubious but then declared it was very nice. Him: “I like the cherries”. Me: “I didn’t put any cherries in it.” “Oh, well, it’s nice anyway Nanny! Is there any more?” Well, when there is he won’t get it now until this wretched lockdown is done☹️. Have the best day you can folks.

Good morning from the Shropshire/Powys border where it’s another frosty start.

I stayed up until 2am reading so it will be a slow start for me today.

My uncle and aunt both have Covid.My uncle is in hospital, on oxygen, very upsetting.

Today I have to download the app that will enable me to do home schooling with DGD?DD’s first day back at work today after 15 months maternity leave.We will look after the children two days a week.

Mary,it’s so good to hear from you, not so good that you have had a heart attack but good that you have had the blood tests and medicine review that you needed.Hope you get home today.?

Hope the garage door and car damage is not as bad as you think baubles.So easily done in these icy conditions.

Good morning from North Yorkshire. The sun is shining. I’m hoping the last of the weekend snow will disappear today. The paths are treacherous so I have hardly been outside.

Zoom call for my charity today then FaceTime with DGS later. Fingers crossed for a walk in between.
My friend messaged yesterday to say she is getting her vaccine on the 8th. She is 75 and in a different area to me. My 80+ neighbour hasn’t been contacted yet. The roll out seems to be very variable.

Good morning all from West Yorkshire.

Firstly, more for Marydoll and anyone else who would like some.

Our childcare bubble kicked in yesterday and we had a few hours with DGS6, which was a delight. Like so many other lockdown babies, the little man is not used to anyone but Mum and Dad and wasn’t pleased at being separated from them, but was happy enough to look up at different trees and have our neighbours coo over him (from a safe distance!) when we got the pram out. So at least I got my steps in. I’m hoping it’ll be ice free later to get some more, though I have plenty to do indoors as it’s time to take Christmas down. I’m dreading it, but the poor tree is drooping so badly now it’s starting to get rid of its own baubles. Fingers crossed it revives when it’s back out in the garden. DH has suggested draping my big coat over to acclimatise it - I think he’s joking!

Cloudy and grey so not as cold as it was last night with the frost. No intention of going anywhere today.

Message from D in which she said she won't be visiting less than 2/3 weeks at a time---gee thanks. Because of the children and work she won't risk calling in and the 2/3 weeks give time to reassure her that I'm okay during that time.
It's 2 weeks since I saw her last and ( touch wood ) I'm okay so she's not passing/ carrying any bugs, although she's my bubble.

How good to see you Marydoll. I had an idea it would be " hearty " more than anything else with you not having been too good of late. They'll soon get you sorted, even if it means mucking about with your medication all over again. I wish you well with a speedy recovery then home James.x

Cor, I'm hungry this morning. I've just finished what was left of the shortbread biscuits before I tuck into the crumpets.
Started packing away the dangly crystal twigs first thing after removing the batteries and have 3 musical ornaments to put in their boxes. I hadn't bothered with much last year.

I suspect that I'll have the vaccine on the 28th when I go for my INR. I never did get back to the surgery after them ringing me at the beginning of December out of the blue. It didn't give me time to think and caught me unawares.

Some washing to do, a hot wash for the whites so I'll get that on soon as it takes a couple of hours in all.
Then I must look online for a hamper and flowers to send for D's 60th Birthday, in Oz ,which is in 3 weeks time but I don't want to leave it late.

Thinking of travelsafar and her DH and hoping both are okay and that her DH is improving.

Thoughts also to anyone else not feeling up to the mark in this uphill struggle which is getting everyone down. It can't be doing Gilly any good either with this further lockdown. x

Good morning everyone from north Kent where it has stopped raining for the moment and is looking a bit brighter. Hoping to get out for a walk if I can summon up the energy.

Glad that Marydoll was able to post and reassure us that she is being well looked after; get home soon. Kalu ice works quite well on banged knees.

Nothing much planned for today except to finish my Christmas jigsaw - time that Father Christmas and his sleigh is packed away in his box; he has out-stayed his welcome!

Good morning from Durham. Cold and heavy rain here. Despite lockdown, there seems to be a lot out on the roads - surely they can’t all be key workers or essential traffic?

Well, at least I made it on here before the afternoon!

I only discovered that our Marydoll had been taken into hospital, when I caught up on yesterdays thread, but it's good to hear that she is being well looked after. Trust her to find a nice french lad to practice her language skills on. ?

Our highlight of the day, is a trip to the tip, to get rid of another mattress. I did look on our council website, but the cost of them coming to collect and dispose of it, made us determined to get it into the car. Which we did, yesterday afternoon. Just hope we can get it out later.

Sorry to hear that some folk have had bumps and scrapes, so take care everybody, and stay safe and warm.

grandmattie it`s really quite simple. To the youngster putting your order together a dog is a "pantie" and the treats will be liners for its stomach!

Ooh Kalu poor you, take better care, please. baubles poor DH, what a day! However, a buggeration with the car, but nobody hurt so, hurrah!

Late this morning after various DH caused complications but wanted to say how relieved I am that Marydoll has survived the most recent drama and is keeping the Entente Cordiale alive and well. Of course, if she had had the relevant treatment at the right time this might have been avoided ......

DH has a dental inspection this morning but nothing else to look forward to. Just hoping he has nothing to be done, but he finds cleaning his teeth very difficult and won’t let me help (probably wisely) so I am a bit anxious. Losing the physical ability to do ordinary every day things is hard for him - and for me trying to support him.

So sorry about the car, baubles. Not much consolation that it’s only things and not people damaged. Hope things are sorted swiftly.

annsixty know what you mean about the doldrums?. We too are eighties and my husband almost permanently shielded which means I am as well. We felt sure we too would be hearing soon about the vaccinations as heard of quite a few that have already had them but nothing.
Like you we wonder if we will ever again have a proper life. Not seeing anyone now except occasionally on a small screen!!
The postponed weddings are rebooked , July this year and March next, wonder if we’ll make them, very dodgy on our feet too.
On this dreary note let’s try and be up beat, Happy New Year all.

Hello and good morning from a grey and damp Northampton. It feels very cold indoors even though the heating is on.

Just popping in to post quickly as I am late this morning and will go back and read all the news later. Woke up before 6am, but turned over and next thing I knew it was 9 o'clock!

Hoping for good news about Marydoll today, and wishing her all the best.

Can't remember what I did yesterday apart from booking a Sainsbury's delivery for next week. Am expecting a delivery late afternoon today. Oh yes, I actually did some Joe Wicks exercises, as I felt bad about not going out for a walk. To be honest, I feel slightly scared of going out these days.

The tree is coming down today, with help from the cats I expect. I have a fancy for macaroni cheese for tea, but I have cheated and ordered a ready made cheese sauce - thinking of frying some chopped bacon to go in it as well.

Must stir myself and get a few things done. Hope the day is kind to us.

I slept in until 8.55 this morning.... my partner who had been up since 6.30 had convinced himself something terrible had happened and was relieved when I finally woke up.

We took the tree and the decorations down yesterday and packed them all away. Just the cards to sort today, then a good dust and a hoover. I might order some flowers online, to have something bright in the living room.

Thinking of those facing challenges, appointments or recovering from falls and bumps. Also those with unwell loved ones. Good morning Gilly if you’re reading.
