Sending virtual hugs to Panache and much love to all xx

Charleygirl5 Mon 01-Feb-21 22:40:44

doodle thanks for updating us. Normally Mr Panache's problem could/would be dealt with surgically but I do appreciate his major underlying problem so that may not be possible. A worrying time for them both.

Izabella beautiful photos. All I see here is a pigeon.
My most exciting thing tomorrow is my Morrisons delivery mid morning so I must have a night's sleep in preparation for such excitement.

Izabella, what a lovely description of a frosty morning. The heron looks quite dominant above that tranquil pond. It's good to hear the birds making their presence felt. I notice that the collared doves are flirting - but then, they seem to do that all year round! I haven't inspected my snowdrops recently because the steps down the garden are slippery and my son issued me with a solemn warning not to risk them and I always do what they tell me!

Hellogirl1 Mon 01-Feb-21 23:47:23

Once again, another beautifully worded post from Izabella.
Izabella, were you by any chance a writer in another life?
My very best wishes to Panache and Mr Panache.
Good to hear that there were no more early morning shockers from poor Sam.
Well, today was J for jab day, all went well, I had the Oxford vaccine. My daughter 3 goes for hers on Wednesday, she`s only 54, but is carer to her husband. And my eldest son has his on Thursday, he wasn`t sure if he`d be able to because he`s having chemo, so was relieved to get the call.

So good to finish my evening here in the kitchen catching up with the last few comments of the day. I go to bed comforted at thought of so many GNers supporting and caring for others.

Beautiful photo Izabella.

Morning all !

Its raining cats and dogs here so there wont be much going on today !

Sam is lots better. The vet called and his blood tests are all fine but the sample they have taken of the actual cyst isn't back yet so we need to wait for that. Sam will be going in for the morning on Thursday as despite our best efforts the matting on and around the would needs shaving so we can keep the area clean. We'll discuss what further treatment he needs then.

Today , he has a new inflatable collar arriving so we can take his t shirt off . He'll be relieved :-)

Sorry to hear Mr Panache is so poorly , hopefully a short stay in hospital will help. Good to hear you got your vaccinations Hellogirl I cant wait for mine.

Soop you have the patience of a saint !! I don't know how you do it !!

Ive added a couple of pictures of the patient :-)

Delighted to hear that Sam is feeling better N&G, what a lovely wee face he has.

I hope BT get their act together and sort out your connectivity problems soop

Puzzler61 Tue 02-Feb-21 11:22:56

I am too N&G, he’s a gorgeous cheeky chappie.
I hope Mya is improving too.
Best wishes to Panache and her DH too. I don’t know them but they are often mentioned affectionately in this kindly kitchen.
Good day to you All.

GrannyGravy13 Tue 02-Feb-21 11:27:45

Morning all

Trying to catch up with the kitchen news is a huge task which I shall no doubt fail!

Cannot believe BT are still failing our soop ???

It’s Groundhog Day in a place called Gobblers Knob in USA today................ I feel that for the last year we have all lived the same day repeatedly!!!!!

Have left an Apple Sponge and Banana Bread on the he side as my baking mojo has returned ?‍♀️

Jaxjacky Tue 02-Feb-21 11:35:44

Good morning, poor Sam he looks woebegone. I don’t know Panache but very good wishes to both her and MrP.
Two friends, aged 73 are having their vaccinations this week, it’s astounding progress.
GrannyGravy13 hear, hear on Groundhog Day, this time last year I wouldn’t even have noticed.

dragonfly46 Tue 02-Feb-21 11:43:33

Aah poor Sam - he does look sorry for himself! They really know how to tug on your heartstrings N&G.

Hoping soop has news of internet today!

Pleased your son is getting his jab Hello I was wondering how he was getting on.

annodomini Tue 02-Feb-21 12:12:47

Hellogirl, I'ts good that you've had the vaccination and that your son is going to have it too. I hope his chemo treatment is going to plan. I like those pictures of Sam, N&G. He has that 'poor me' look - quite justified in his case. He will be more comfortable when the matted hair is shaved off, even though that might spoil his good looks until it grows back. sad

Puzzler61 Tue 02-Feb-21 12:15:12

Popping back to say I’m glad you’ve found your mojo again GrannyGravy ? Thank you for bringing goodies.

Charleygirl5 Tue 02-Feb-21 12:21:29

So pleased to hear that yet more of us have had the jab-we are slowly getting there and soon everybody in the kitchen will have had at least the first vaccine.

Doodle my apologies but I have not asked how Mr. Doodle is. Birdbrain has even forgotten how long it has been since his accident.

N&G Sam is really looking very sorry for himself and his matted neck cannot be too comfortable. He is so handsome but he should know that by now.

Sam is a real cutie so glad he is feeling a bit better.

We have just done our river walk and the Thames is so high and running very fast!we certainly don’t need more rain.

Thoughts and prayers to Panache and MrP such sad news.
Hope you get better news today Soop.
Stay safe everyone have a nice afternoon.

Izabella Tue 02-Feb-21 12:49:46

Good afternoon from the Shire. I had to be reminded who Sam is but it is good to know the dear boy is now recovering. Yet another worry in the kitchen. Not to mention the continuing woes of our dear panache. Despite all her troubles she has been a great support to me and her kindness knows no bounds. It seems unjust that some people have such burdens to carry.

Thank you for those commenting on my posts. When I retired I decided to do something just for me that was not medically orientated, having spent so much of my life studying. I embarked on an MA on Art History which was amazing. It was this that taught me how to stop, listen, look, visually analyse and generally appreciate what had always been around me and what I had been too busy to really drink in in the past. It is this skill that now keeps me grounded, gives me solace and contentment as my Alzheimers starts to slowly strip away my independence of thought and action. The fuckitbuck has the odd thing thrown in now and again, but I have amazed myself at what I have achieved since diagnosis. (I consider my marathon at the top of the list.) The unsung hero in all of this, is of course, CH who deserves a medal. Also thanks to the many kitcheners who bear with my muddles and omissions regarding their own troubles

Good afternoon lovely people. Soop you are so very patient - I'm sure I would have a full on tantrum by now!! Sending my best wishes and gentle hugs to everyone who is under the weather. Duncan says hello too - he can't join us at present as I have just changed the bedding and there's absolutely nothing quite as good as a pile of laundry waiting for the wash to sit in!! Sainsbury's has delivered this morning so we will in turn deliver my mum's order later this afternoon. Fish and chips on the way home and an early night in readiness for nanna duty tomorrow moonsmile. Enjoy the rest of your day and stay safe

soop Tue 02-Feb-21 14:09:54

Lovely messages awaiting my full attention. Lovely photos that make me smile.

News is...ta dah...we have been reconnected after eight weeks in the internet wilderness. grin
Cable fault was underground between here and the village three miles away. We are to be compensated. We are to have reduced rates. Deep sigh. I am feeling heaps better than I did late yesterday afternoon.

I need to check Facebook. 200 notifications unread. I shall return. sunshine

GrannySomerset Tue 02-Feb-21 14:29:51

Hurrah for Soop, now back in the 21st century. Bubbly, anyone? A celebration is definitely called for.

Charleygirl5 Tue 02-Feb-21 14:36:21

I had to read that twice because I did not believe it the first time. It was obvious even to me that if it worked before it has to work again when something has been repaired or replaced.

As for paying a reduced rate- nil, zero, nada does that get the message across? For compensation, I would only accept hard cash. Oh dear, that is the Scot in me coming out but I am sure others will agree with me.

I am delighted that pigeon post will no longer be required, dear Soop . Huzzah! Today we are having a battle of wills ,the toddler and I. I will return

Doodle Tue 02-Feb-21 15:23:12

Oh charleygirl that’s kind of you to ask. He’s much improved I’m pleased to say. He has cut down on his painkillers and is more mobile.
Hope you are ok too.
N&G Sam is gorgeous. I just want to cuddle him. I love his t shirt, ?
Fantastic news Soop so glad you’re connected again.
Have a good day all

Jaxjacky Tue 02-Feb-21 16:02:10

Hurrah soop you announced that so quietly, I expected my iPad to leap into triumphant sound! I think the word fault, as in guess who’s, is appropriate along with many other descriptions of disgraceful service/communication skills and trouble shooting.
Enjoy your catch ups, hope nothing important has been missed.
Doodle pleased Mr D is recovering well.
