Superb news and well worth sharing Urmstongran and
celebrating with cracking open a bottle of red. ?
brook that snowy driveway through the wood makes me think of a sleigh ride. It would be perfect.

Soop's welcoming kitchen for kindly caring folk...
(1001 Posts)Welcome dear Kitcheners. I shall pour the cocktails. Make yourselves comfortable and enjoy the wonderous food provided in the buffet.
Now that you all have a place to relax, I shall leave you to enjoy your first evening in this truly special kitchen.

Get Well Soon Galen ?
Blizzard is blowing. First snow hereabouts. I'm about to have a cheese and Marmite roll, Galen. Sorry that I'm unable to share.
Back after lunch to read through all your news.
I heard that the West was getting snow before us easterners, Soop. Although it is clouding over here so I expect we'll see some more. Enjoy your roll. Marmite! Shudder.
Hello the kitchen! Well I knew is was cold hereabouts, but until we went out for a constitutional this morning I had no idea just how frozen solid everything actually was - fields are lakes of ice and impassable, unless, like the child we saw on what passes for our village pond, you can skate up and down it hitting an ice hockey puck! That was a first for us in the time we’ve lived here. We’ve seen it frozen but not so the ice couldn’t be broken. He was good too! I would have taken a photo but thought his father might object!
DH is watching the rugby this afternoon, so I shall take some scabby looking bananas into the kitchen and make a cake! If it doesn’t sink in the middle, I will leave some for you to sample. After standing on the scales this morning I will not be having cake of any kind for a while!
Sorry to hear about your fall, Galen - hope you’re recovering. Kind thoughts to all of you who have difficulties of one sort or another at the moment.
TOYA.
Hope you're making progress Galen and that they have found some Marmite for you! DH loves it, I loathe it, each to their own. Bright and sunny here but very cold. Must stir my stumps and go for my walk before temperature goes down, don't think I'll be out long. Must do some ironing when I come back, such exciting times we're living in !
Yes Brook, each child will get their own album. Done a couple more years this morning and now we are awaiting the rugby. I shall finish the blanket squares and then it start the border. I could do the ironing - maybe not!
Still bitterly cold ?
Hello and greetings to everyone.
I was tempted back after reading the forum today and seeing the sad news that Jingle has died.
I am well thanks and will post more fully soon.
I have also discovered some PM’s, thank you and I promise I will reply.
It is freezing here as everywhere else, keeping warm is full time work.
Love to all and I will be back very shortly.
Good to see you back Annsixty. You were much missed. I hope you are keeping well and also your dgd. I'll go an make a cake to celebrate.
I hoped you'd pop in here ann after I saw you had posted on the Jingls thread. Isn't that so sad?
I've just come to do a proud mum brag. DS1 has just completed a bike ride from Land's End to John O'Groats on his exercise bike. He has used an app which gives you different stages and sends you postcards from notable places that you pass. He did it faster than the app, despite a hospital stay, and met a nice young lady along the way.
He has always been very determined, which has stood him in good stead since his stroke, and he is now going to cycle round Iceland. Proud mum brag over.
Ann It is lovely to have you back with us lot. I was shocked and saddened to hear the sad news that Jingle had died. She was a character. She was funny. She was kind.
kitty Very well done to your dear, strong-willed son. Hugs are due.
One moment it was clear in Kintyre. Within an hour, a blizzard had blown white stuff all over the place. The first snow fall of the winter has come with a vengeance.
G&P As I was enjoying my Marmite and cheese roll, I thought, I had not made a "rye smile" but a "wry smile". Isn't the brain a canny piece of equipment?
Urms Celebrations are called for. We are very pleased for you.
Another beautiful photograph, thank you, brook.
We sat down for lunch with a snow-free garden. It was then that a blizzard struck. We cannot see through the window. The birds have had extra seed feeds.
Photo of cat taken at breakfast time. Birds in the snow taken after lunch...
Jax You've made me
Hi Annesixty so nice that your back.
Still very cold but should change tomorrow thank goodness.
I must make an effort and give DH a haircut the aging rocker look doesn’t suit him!
Well done to your son Kittylester a real achievement you’ve every right to be the proud mum.
Enjoy your Saturday everyone and stay safe.
Welcome back, Ann, glad to see you posting.
Well done to your son, Kitty. He's a credit to you and to himself.
Glad you're back with us Ann. You have been missed.
I decided this week that it was too cold and slippery for me to trudge down to the co-op (nearest shop to me) and found that I could get a slot at Morrisons. Delivery after just 24 hours and very successful. But I had forgotten to order mayonnaise and instead ordered it from you-know-who. I managed to order a bigger size than I intended. Anyone need mayo? I have 2 litres!
Grannygravy hope your DGS had a happy snowy birthday.
Yiayia hope you’re feeling a bit better. My friend does diamond art and loves it. Says she becomes completely absorbed in it. Hope you enjoy making your card.
N&G lovely to see Sam bounding about.
Galen no marmite....what is the world coming to. ?
Lovely photos everyone. Thank you for sharing.
annsixty lovely to hear from you. Hope you and your family are well.
Well done to your DS Kitty.
I was so shocked to hear about Jings too. We were only talking about her recently in conjunction with other missing posters. Always such a character.
TOYA ?
I am trusting that Scotland will thrash Wales this afternoon.
I shall be rooting them whatever the outcome.
Black sky. Deep snow. Light the fire. Feet up. Best wishes to you all. I hope that we'll be here in the kitchen at sometime during tomorrow.

Welcome back Annsixty and congratulations to your son Kitty.
Marmite? ? for me!
It has stayed frozen all day here but I am knitting a blanket, so who needs central heating? ?
Great news about your son’s achievement Kitty. How many miles was that in total? I’m sure it was tough going at times even on an exercise bike. He will have strengthened his leg muscles for sure.
Ann good to see you back. Glad you found some PMs!
Soop, two lovely picture.
Just popping into the kitchen to say hello everyone - while chicken kievs cook and (more importantly) the red wine breathes!! A big well done to your son kitty - what an achievement. Virtual hugs all around and whatever you are up to - stay safe
Kittylester well done to your boy! And how nice he made a lady friend. I'm sure that will have spurred him on. Some blizzard*Soop*. We had some of the white stuff on top of the existing white stuff. I'm very sick of it now
Evening all,
Hello Ann so nice to see you here.
I'm sorry to hear about Jingle, not a poster whose style I liked but sad news all the same for her family. It sounded like she was doing well too.
Well done to your son Kitty - tell us more about the nice young lady :-)
Sam is still doing well although the vet did describe him as ;sturdy' so i think we may all be on a diet soon.
Happy evening all x
What a lovely soothing thread. I just decided to take a look-not a cross word in 35 pages. Hope it’s OK to be a browser.
