Corrie in my opinion are making a real mess of their Corona take in the series
There is just no continuity at all, sometimes no one is wearing a mask or some are and some arent the ones that do wear then often seem to wear them in the street and take them off when they go in the shop!!! They have the masks that are on hanging from an ear or under a nose
The restaurants are opened for seated customers the pub is open
There’s no real sign of social distancing
Its really quite silly and would in my opinion have been better if they had ignored it altogether

Bluebelle you could still watch it in three instalments !!!

Calendargirl Sat 03-Jul-21 07:31:04

BlueBelle

Well I understand calendergirl watching it ‘properly’ is not seeing it all in one go it’s seeing it on the nights you expect to see it on
I don’t want to watch it in one go vegansrock I just look forward to a bit of light relief three times a week and if it’s going to be changed at least stick to what you say it will be changed too
There should be a dedicated sports channel

Thank you for understanding what I mean BlueBelle!

As for vegansrock watching it all earlier in the week, well, good for you, but that really isn’t the point I was making.

?⚽️? aargh!!!

Why isn’t ITV Hub watching it “properly” ? We watched all the episodes earlier in the week.

I still think Gail is dreadful, specially when trying to be comical, utterly cringeworthy

Calendargirl Fri 02-Jul-21 20:36:58

FGS.

What time is Corrie supposed to be on tonight?

I thought it was 8, then 8.30, it’s now 8.35 and it’s still Emmerdale!!,,

I know I can watch it in ITV Hub, but I want to watch it properly!

Damn football!

angry

Calandergirl I quite like Ronnie too hes certainly easier on the eye than greasy Johnny
Eddie particularly is an awful actor bless him about the most unbelievable character in the whole series in my opinion Devs bad too nearly as bad
Maureen Lipman is fantastic
It’s all total cxxx but we still keep watching ???

Maggiemaybe Mon 28-Jun-21 13:08:32

I think there are worse actors in Corrie than the Baileys (looking at you, Dev, Daisy and Sharon), and it's about time there was a black family on the street. I warmed to Eddie when he made his speech in the bistro about racism. The storyline round James's sexuality and his footballing career looks to be back in the forefront this week (according to the Radio Times). Much more interesting imho than all these daft bumbling gangster plotlines (Debbie and Ray, Todd and Mick, Sharon and Harvey, Scott, Gary Windass and his loan-sharking goons). Every time new characters appear in the Rovers these days I'm expecting them to be wrong 'uns.

Please don't put any spoilers on here as I can't get ITV hub.

I thought Aggy was working as a nurse and isolating from her family. The actress
( can't remember her name ) was much better as Mrs Tembe in Doctors

vegansrock Mon 28-Jun-21 10:10:03

ITV hub is showing the whole weeks episodes in advance while the football is on so you can binge watch

Calendargirl Mon 28-Jun-21 09:57:27

Thanks JaneJudge you have succeeded where others have failed, getting this thread noticed again, up there in the ‘Actives’

grin

JaneJudge Mon 28-Jun-21 09:54:22

I think the woman playing Nina is a brilliant actress

I actually know so many men Tyrone's age who have left their marriage and got a younger woman pregnant <sigh>

Calendargirl Mon 28-Jun-21 09:52:44

Obviously the powers-that-be want us to chat about something more highbrow than the soaps.

MawBe Mon 28-Jun-21 09:49:38

I did try but it seems no more likely to stay up than a tart’s drawers grin

Calendargirl Mon 28-Jun-21 09:42:03

MawBe

Bumping this up too!

Hardly dare write this, but Ronnie is growing on me. Now he isn’t seen in the bosom of his amateur acting ‘family’, he doesn’t seem too bad.

I can see him running the Rovers alongside Jenny, it’s now the horrendous Daisy I want to see get her comeuppance.

honeyrose Mon 28-Jun-21 08:47:30

Corrie has got so many unbelievable story lines now with some dreadful acting, especially from Eddie and family. Thank goodness Aggie is out of the picture. Is she tending to a sick aunt? That’s the usual reason for characters missing for so long. I do like the comedy Corrie provides occasionally though - like easily-led Tyrone in his trendy gear, wearing trousers so tight he couldn’t bend down to pick up manipulative Alina’s make-up from the floor of the Bistro. Fizz was looking on, smirking and commenting on how ridiculous he looked. I still watch Corrie regularly though - habit of over 60 years that I can’t give up! There is some good acting of course - Maureen Lipman! Legend.

Lucca Mon 28-Jun-21 08:30:40

There has certainly been an outbreak of bad acting and implausible storylines recently, but I still watch it….but usually on catch up and skip a lot of it!

I’m always amazed at how some of them seem to get by financially too.

Maggiemaybe Mon 28-Jun-21 08:27:02

And as Calendargirl says, her business must be paying well! She’s certainly, and implausibly, turned her life right round during the pandemic. smile

BlueBelle Mon 28-Jun-21 08:24:02

Alina did start off as a very sweet vulnerable young lady and she played that part well however she’s become the dominant partner now and not very likeable at all and yes her voice is a real put off ( I guess that’s her real voice she should train it down a few notes) Sharon at the opposite end of the scale sounds almost like a cigar smoking man
They are all a bit like cartoon characters
Why do I watch and not only watch but look out for it and swear when football or something else knocks it off, why oh why ?

Clawdy Mon 28-Jun-21 08:16:06

When Alina first came into the show, she was a sweet and vulnerable girl, but now she is incredibly annoying, all posing and squeaky voice! Unfortunately with the pregnancy storyline it looks as if she's staying.

Doodledog

I try and preview my message before posting, as that enables me to check spelling or auto corrections.

But sometimes miss mistakes even then.

Doodledog Sat 26-Jun-21 12:38:32

I think I meant superficial, rather than selfish. I do wish we could review our posts and edit on here.

Doodledog Sat 26-Jun-21 12:37:54

Did you mean Kirsty Doodledog ?

Oh yes! Ruby couldn't really leave money to herself?.

I find Alina annoying, too. I know she's young, but she seems remarkably selfish and lacking in empathy, particularly given her backstory.
