Corrie
(208 Posts)Corrie in my opinion are making a real mess of their Corona take in the series
There is just no continuity at all, sometimes no one is wearing a mask or some are and some arent the ones that do wear then often seem to wear them in the street and take them off when they go in the shop!!! They have the masks that are on hanging from an ear or under a nose
The restaurants are opened for seated customers the pub is open
There’s no real sign of social distancing
Its really quite silly and would in my opinion have been better if they had ignored it altogether
Maggiemaybe
And they have a medical centre they can stroll into at any time without needing an appointment, a designated ambulance that arrives within minutes, a Corrie ward at Weatherfield General permanently occupied by one or other of them and a gang of police officers employed just to interview Coronation Street residents after arresting them in the Rovers or out on the cobbles at the slightest whiff of suspicion.
I absolutely love it.
This is so true. There’s only one policeman, everyone has done time in prison, they all have affairs with each other, the cafes and pubs were open in lockdown, they all take their masks off as they enter a shop, and the resident solicitor deals with every area of law from house sales to murder charges.
Like others, I can’t stand Sharon’s voice, and the ten year old child, is his name Sam, is the most annoying child I’ve ever come across.
But I still watch it every week
I agree I find the child annoying too.
I like Sam. I'm very glad I don't have to live with him though.
Oh, Carla Connor/Barlow really wound me up tonight. Expecting either Daniel, widowed father of a toddler or Adam to donate a liver to Peter Barlow, who has also really wound me up lately, meandering about with a blanket over his shoulder whilst doing a jigsaw.
What a selfish pair. I’m glad Sarah told her what for. The truth hurts, Carla.
I thought Sarah was a right little Madam tonight I rather like Carla
Meandering around with a blanket over his shoulder whilst doing a jigsaw. Brilliant.
A lot of home truths came out last night with Sarah and Carla, bet they had been holding that in for ages. ( yes I know its fiction )
I agree about Daniel making the donation, seems a bit reckless as the sole parent of a young child.
I'm conflicted about the whole issue of liver donation to alcoholics.
Yep sidapop I can’t forget or forgive George Best for ruining two livers
Coronation street has had 2 kidney transplants - Tracey and Carla, now a liver one, you’d think they’d come up with a different storyline. I think the actor playing Corey has been excellent with enough menace and occasional ( very occasional ), charm. I read an interview with the girl who plays Asha who said he is a really nice guy in real life, but gets abused in the street when he is out and about.
I've watched Corrie for years but pretty much gave up a couple of years ago due to the nasty storyline. I still dip in & out -mostly out - but keep up to date in the hope 'normality' resumes. I doubt it will - its all about ratings & big storylines these days.
Corrie is my family substitute but I hate the violence that has crashed, rather than crept, in.
I like Sam tho -what I've seen of him. If the drugs & hate crime stories are coming to an end, maybe I'll try it again. As long as its on at 7.30...
Glad I found this post!
I agree about the actor playing Corey, he really is good. It is a shame he is a villian as he could have been a useful addition to the cast. There are more teenage girls than boys at the moment and they need levelling up so they can all marry each other in the future.
I’ll probably be shouted down, but I think Fiz was totally wrong to ban Tyrone from seeing the girls. She seems to forget the minor detail that Ruby is actually his daughter.
It’s one thing to say she doesn’t want Alina to have them, but quite another to say Ty can’t.
Another minor detail. If they still have a joint bank account, which is for ‘food and school shoes’, why was she recently telling Ty they needed new school shoes and expecting him to get them?
Couldn’t she just have gone and bought them with money from said account?
What happened about the cruise Fiz booked? I thought they were financially struggling, but suddenly it is booked and not mentioned again.
Hope has form for being a bit mixed up ( to put it kindly), hasn’t she? We know that Alina and Tyrone won’t last, and how many solicitors give advice in the pub? Dev and Gemmas mum ?????( forgotten her name)
Reading all the comments I’m glad I haven’t bothered to watch it over the last year, Emmerdale either, and have not touched Eastenders for about for ever. Coro and Emmerdale used to be really good, normal peoples lives, but suppose that got too boring, and they came up with completely ridiculous story lines, glad I switched off.
Bernie Vegansrock.
Calandergirl I thought the same fizz was asking for school shoes from Tyrone about a week ago and yes it would be a shame to spilt the girls up but Ruby is Tyrones, not her child
I know it’s total crxx but I can’t help watching
Yes, some completely ridiculous storylines in Corrie, but I’ve watched it forever and it’s become an entrenched habit. Who will become the new owner(s) of The Rovers, I wonder?! I think it might be Ronnie - he seems to meander about in every scene - I can imagine him behind the bar - he’s been in every other room of the pub (including Jennie’s bedroom!). He always seems at a loose end, almost every time there is a street scene, he comes round the corner! What does he actually DO for a living? ?
There’s always going to be things that ‘ would never happen’. That’s what makes it addictive I suppose. It would be boring if they all did the right thing! The Fizz and Tyrone story annoys me too. Not only is Ruby his child, but isn’t the house his too?
Yes, what did happen to the ‘ cruise’ money? I like the way the kids are just put neatly away ‘ upstairs’, when they’re not in a scene. In reality, these houses are tiny, you’d be able to hear them breathing in and out!
Still love it though?
Fizz is awful - no wonder Tyrone left her.
Loving the new Dev storyline. His acting is so bad it’s genius.

Yes Fizz is being awful but very understandably. In fact Evelyn pointed that out last night. People in such emotional pain lash out and say terrible things then regret them later. She acted it very well. It was dreadful to see her in tears somehow.
I suspect they'll have lost the money for the Greek island trip.
That huge photo was hilarious. A typical Corrie touch.
the blanket and jigsaw comment has really tickled me
I wonder if it will be Ronnie who gets the pub? I couldn’t stand him when he first appeared, but either he or I have mellowed a bit, and he doesn’t seem quite so bad now. Better than the rest of his family, none of them can act.
No idea where he gets his money from, I suspect he hasn’t really got any, at least legitimately.
Hope the awful Daisy gets her marching orders, but doubt it.
Wish Johnny would nip to David’s or Maria’s for a trim, his greasy locks are a real turn off.
