Good morning from a dry E Kent. The full moon woke me up through the gaps in the curtains.
Nothing on again today. Got my sunnies the other day, and had my regular ones adjusted. It’s so nice to have properly fitted ? glasses.
Reminds me of a boy in one of my French classes. I commented that I was going to have “new spectacles”. He very tactfully told me that “in English, the are called glasses “ ?
Changing the sheets and probably salmon for dinner.
Marydoll, I’m praying with all my heart for your pregnant friend.
I hope today will bring some ☀️and ?into your hearts and souls. Stay safe.

Good morning GrandMattie. Thank you for opening the thread, my fingers were twitching to do so but I didn’t feel as a relative newbie that it was my right.
Managed to get 6 hours sleep last night which is a bonus when sleeping in DD’s bed. Will get the boys up and off to school and then home to DH. Need a trip to local garden centre to buy the February birthday cards.
Mum has GP appointment this morning and will take her for that.
I am working all weekend so treat tonight of takeaway and Prosecco.
Trust the day is kind to all, so good to see so many getting vaccinations/invites

Morning grandMattie and all.
Thank you for starting the GM thread...weather at the moment looking dry in Bolton...thinking about all of you with worries.... try to smile though...?

Morning all from a damp south coast. 10.2c this morning. Has anyone heard from or about Mick?

Better news from the DD yesterday so my worries about them have eased. It may take a while to be completely better but they are all on the up and up now. Thankfully.

My older sister is having her first jab today after I managed to persuade her that she should do, at 87 years old and following a recent cancer operation. She is diabetic and has a heart problem too so, a no-brainer. She had got it into her head that we are all guinea pigs being used to test the vaccines.

Another day of nothing on the agenda here. Getting tedious and I am having to work hard to stay positive. I suspect that is the case for many of us.

Come on spring - we need you to cheer us. sunshine

Good Morning everyone from Severnside where it’s wet and dark.
Thanks for opening Mattie.

A day of sewing for me. My skirt design is out of my head and will have gathered tiers. The thought came came to me as I was writing on pieces of paper so I knew what piece was what that it was suitable for our time ?

Hope your hospital trip goes well Marydoll and the same for anyone else who has an appointment today.
Stay safe and well ?

Good morning all from a damp North Leicestershire. Thank you for opening up Mattie. I hope that Mick is back with us soon and, of course all other missing posters.

Our main excitement today is our new neighbour is moving in. Our lovely neighbour of 26 years died almost a year ago so it will be really odd to have someone new there.

It's also bed changing day.

Mary sending best wishes to your friend's daughter.

Good morning, everyone and thank you, grandMattie! Dry and windy in Torbay.

It was good to know yesterday that Mick is ok.

Other than seeing the dental hygienist before Christmas, I’ve had no dental treatment for a year. My dentist left just before the pandemic and couldn’t be replaced. Since then, it was “emergencies only but we will contact you.”

So I waited. A replacement was found but still nothing so on Wednesday, I emailed to request a check up and a phone call early yesterday offered me an appointment this afternoon! I do wonder if I had been overlooked.

Doesn’t that say it all about our current situation that I can tell a yarn like this about the highlight of my day?

My thoughts and prayers with those who suffer especially the poorly pregnant young woman known to Marydoll. ?✝️?

Beechnut Fri 29-Jan-21 07:03:18

I’m making your SOAP today Urm and have just checked back a few days for the instructions ?

grandMattie Fri 29-Jan-21 07:05:49

Apologies, Marydoll. Hope your hospital appointment today is successful .

Good morning all from a rainy Wiltshire ?. Looks like it will be another day of ‘mud, mud, glorious mud’ on the farm - starting to long for some dryness, not least so the fields can start to dry out and be less bog-like. Yesterday’s Red Tractor inspection went without a hitch and we passed with no ‘non-compliances’ so all good there. The ‘girls’ had a busy day with 4 of them calving successfully so we had to re-jig the ‘maternity wards’ to give the post-calving cows more space. It’s very joyful to see the new calves ‘ganging up’ and racing round the barn, kicking up their heels and showing off! A real time-waster watching them but then what is life if you don’t ‘stand and stare’ occasionally?!
Today we need to venture out and stock up on some farming-essentials. I’ve been avoiding going off farm as much as possible recently because the thought of catching COVID before lambing starts is a worry to me. With just my husband and I working the farm it would be a real problem if one of us was too ill to work so it’ll be a quick in and out to get what we need.
Sending thoughts and best wishes to those in distress today. Mary doll - I hope so much that your friends daughter and unborn child are safe - her poor family must be in bits. And to the poster who’s daughter was having surgery yesterday (sorry - not good at names yet), I hope all went smoothly.

Good morning all from a dry Essex by the sea.
DD2 had her op yesterday and will be going home later this morning. She now has to wait for the result of the biopsy on her lymph node. My fingers are firmly crossed ??. I'm finding it hard not being able to see her ?.
No plans today apart from washing and ironing.
I hope your hospital appointment goes well Marydoll and my thoughts are with your friends granddaughter.
I also hope Mick is ok and will be back with us soon.
Kind thoughts to anyone who is struggling or sad.
Have the best Friday you can and stay safe everyone xx

Gagagran Fri 29-Jan-21 07:19:13

Just seen on Good Morning Thursday that "the exiled one" has managed to confirm that Mick is safe and well and will be back asap.

Grammaretto Fri 29-Jan-21 07:21:14

Good morning from the Scottish Borders. Still snow lying here. I was glad to read that Mick is OK .
I had an emergency dentist appointment yesterday and am on antibiotics for an abscess. I still have toothache but it's a bit better during the day.
You are a brave dressmaker Beechnut photos please smile

May your appointments go well today and I hope your young friend recovers Marydoll
I am still searching for missing documents decluttering
I must get out for a walk. I missed it yesterday.

Beauregard Fri 29-Jan-21 07:28:46

Good morning all from a rainy Derbyshire. I'm hoping DD has put the tub trug in place to catch the rainwater at the yard to save me a job later.

Sheepandcattle I understand about the muddy fields - ours is on a slight slope and drains really well but is worse than it normally ever gets. Thankfully no standing water.

Today a short walk out with DH. He's chosen a circular walk around the chip shop so we can call for lunch afterwards.

Hope today's appointments go well for Marydoll and AuntieFlo flowers. Also thinking of your friends granddaughter and her baby Marydoll. Hope Grandmafrench is feeling better.

Have a good Friday all.

GrannyGravy13 Fri 29-Jan-21 07:30:10

Good morning Mick and all

Since I posted yesterday I have slept all day and all night, I feel better for it and will now try and catch up.

Keep safe and well folks ?‍♀️

Scentia Fri 29-Jan-21 07:35:45

Good Morning all from East Staffordshire where it is still dark and wet ☔️☔️☔️☔️
I have already been out delivering and I only have to take my car for a new tyre then the day is my own.
I can’t stop thinking about Marydoll friends DGD and her unborn baby ?
Hope you get in ok at your appointment Mary and everything is ‘A OK’
I am planning on playing with my sewing machine today.

NotAGran55 Fri 29-Jan-21 07:41:08

Good morning from West Berkshire.
Batch cooking and housework today whilst listening to my audio book . Hoping to see Mick back here very soon .

harrigran Fri 29-Jan-21 07:44:56

Good morning from a very damp NE.
We had torrential rain overnight.
Nice long Skype chat with the family last night. Younger GD played the violin and the piano for us, her music lessons continue online.
I can not believe how elder GD's hair has grown during lockdown, it is almost to her waist.
Nothing much going on today so perhaps catch up with the TV.
Thinking of poorly people and absentees.

s catch up with TV.

brook2704 Fri 29-Jan-21 07:48:00

Good morning everyone from Inverness, it started snowing again here yesterday afternoon and continued overnight. So now we’ve got fresh new snow over partially melted snow and ice so it’ll be very slippery outside. I’ve nothing planned today so will stay in this morning and see what it’s like outside this afternoon.
Yesterday when I was at the supermarket I bought some bright spring primula/primrose type flowers, they’re not really my favourite but I decided to plant them in a pot at the front to brighten up the doorstep. Anything to remind me that spring isn’t too far away really cheers me up
Thank you grandmattie for opening up today , best wishes to mick
Hoping the day is kind to everyone, especially those with worries and struggles whatever they are. Take care all whatever the day brings?

Pittcity Fri 29-Jan-21 07:52:10

Good morning from a brightening and mild Colchester. Rain forecast on and off.
Weekend shop at Lidl, laundry and ironing. Getting fish and chips delivered tonight.
Much love xx

Elizabeth1 Fri 29-Jan-21 07:59:23

Good morning everyone from a damp, dark east coast of Fife. I meant to look out for the wolf full moon last night but I forgot to due to being extremely tired after a session on my motor Mede it’s brilliant for helping me to exercise my arms and legs. I had a really good sleep too. I only woke up twice must get cycling today again. All three of us had great fun setting the machine up to the correct speed etc I cycled to the Algarve where I’ve actually been in real life. Wonder where I’ll cycle to today. Take care everyone hope you all soon get your letters to go for your vaccine. My dh has received his appointment. I went shopping on line yesterday and ordered him a bottle of his favourite elixir for Valentine’s Day the bottle will be personalised with his name on it. I don’t usually bother with Valentine’s Day I think it’s a rip off but because on the whole he’s been so helpful and supportive these past few months he deserves a wee treat.even although he’s been mr grumpy at times.

We’re all getting nearer to springtime so look out for these new shoots coming up and the variety of birds which return to enjoy the gardens and any food or nuts given to them at this time of the year we’ve already got a wee blackbird coming to our back step each morning looking for food have a good Friday everyone virtual hugs all around smile

Elizabeth1 Fri 29-Jan-21 08:02:03

My new piece of equipment to help keep us from stagnating.

Viridian Fri 29-Jan-21 08:02:34

Good morning from a very blustery south Cornwall. Got a 5-year-old arriving at 9.30, which I'm looking forward to. Beginning to feel isolated so have decided to get back to a book project I've neglected since Covid, and to write regularly, and also to plan my allotment for the year. I can't get to it but my sons can take over till I get my hips replaced.

The rat man is back today, hopefully for the final time. I've had nightmares, literally, from it all, being in such a small space. My (younger) neighbour has been the same and is debunking to her sister's for the weekend, very wise.

Thanks for standing in grandMattie and see you soon we hope Mick. The best of days to everyone else.

Lins1066 Fri 29-Jan-21 08:15:01

Good morning Mick and all from a wet S Welsh coast.
Zoom U3A Book Club this morning, a discussion about The Salt Path.
This evening we have booked a Zoom Murder Myster, should be fun
I need to ring the butcher shortly he delivers on a Friday morning.
Thinking of those for whom life is a struggle and of course our missing posters.
Stay safe.

Gingster Fri 29-Jan-21 08:15:36

Good morning from Essex where the sky is light with pale shades of pinkish blue.

I’m glad Mick is ok and hope he will be back soon, it’s not the same without him.

GG I hope that long sleep did you the world of good. ????.

Sar fingers crossed for your daughter ?

Marydoll I hope your appointment goes well. And prayers for your friends GD and baby. ?

Urms we had your SOAP dinner and it was delish. It lasted us for 2 meals as the Pork steaks were quite large. ?

DS1 has to travel by train to London today. He’s been working from home but has to go up for a big meeting. I’m a bit concerned for him ?. He is our bubble and does our weekly shop for us.

DH went to the dentist yesterday. There seems to be lots of dental concerns at the moment. I suppose because people haven’t been able to get appointments.

sheep/cattle I can understand your worries of catching the virus, when you have such a lot of work to do. I’m sure you’ll take all precautions.

Can’t believe it’s friday AGAIN! Where does the time go? They say ‘Time flies, when you’re having fun’ ?

Best wishes to all ??
