The changing face of Gransnet?

I am a 'lockdown-joiner' to this forum, welcoming the opportunity join in with others who are similarly 'shut inside'.

I have been wondering whether people have found that the site has changed in any way over the last year?

Themes/quantity of posts/membership/patience/tolerance?

Just curious!

EV ....really ? You too ? That’s mad. I think what I object to is the lack of detailed reasons given. This “ it’s turned into a bunfight “ irritates me.

Absolutely ixion.
Imposing the threat of a lifelong ban is indeed bullying. I am shocked also by the posters to whom this applies. I have NEVER found anything Ellan or Charleygirl have said offensive in any way.
I do hope the lady with the thin dog has not had a lifetime ban imposed. I rather feel there is one member who is targeting certain posters.

The country is massively divided at the moment- and I imagine it is normal for this to be reflected here on GN- certainly on some threads.

We are not divided on this thread. we all know who/what we are talking about and it's got sod all to do with the country.

BlueBelle Sun 31-Jan-21 14:44:57

Ellenvanin do you know the posters name who continually reports you ?
Does the lady with the thin dog know who has attacked her good name
Can we not as a group do something together to get her reinstated and the sword hanging over charliegirl and ellen removed

petra Sun 31-Jan-21 14:45:18

I forgot to add that some of us are aware of the thread where the lady with the thin dog got her ban.

Petra ?

shockshock at the lifetime ban threats! Has GN taken to no-platforming?

Marydoll Sun 31-Jan-21 14:47:04

Bluebelle. You are wasting your time. Some of us have already tried that. sad

Elegran Sun 31-Jan-21 14:50:10

No need for anyone to kick the dog because they are in a bad mood.

Sorry biba but I think you've missed the point.

Final warnings and bans for life ... my goodness who are these people judging and dishing out punishment, probably in many cases without full knowledge of the facts ... I guess there’s no appeal process ?

Elegran Sun 31-Jan-21 14:51:55

My post at 14:50:10 was another reply to Biba

Perhaps biba means Switzerland? I think she lives there, doesn’t she, not in the UK?

Doodle Sun 31-Jan-21 14:57:31

Many of us are opposed to the lifelong ban
Many of us want the lady with the thin dog back
Many of us want the threat lifted over the heads of charleygirl and EV.

When I wrote to you GNHQ I told you that if posters found out a certain person had been banned they would be up in arms about it. This thread proves what I said is true. Poster are finding out that a good friend, a kind and generous person has been banned and they are not happy about it.

Please read this thread, all of if and if you have any regard for the people who make up Gransnet (us) realise that we don’t want lifetime bans for people. We don’t want others to be threatened.

Please GNHQ have the grace to admit you got it wrong in judging ‘the spirit of GN’ and let us, the users, have a say on how you moderate our site. Thank you.

Marydoll Sun 31-Jan-21 14:58:38

Biba, have you read the whole thread? We are mainly all of the same mindset. Not a single dissenter, as far as I can see.

OurKid1 Sun 31-Jan-21 14:58:53

I am very, very curious about that thin dog! Is anyone allowed to enlighten me, without breaking any rules of course?

Elegran Sun 31-Jan-21 15:03:29

I'd say that if you don't recognise the poster from that name, you don't really know enough about them to already have noticed their absence and wondered where they have gone. Any easier clues that were given to you would just make it too obvious, and get posters deleted - and possibly banned themselves.

Elegran Sun 31-Jan-21 15:05:13

You don't need to know an exact identity to get the picture that the ban is unfair.

merlotgran Sun 31-Jan-21 15:06:04

A leeeetle clue?

EllanVannin Sun 31-Jan-21 15:09:06

My feelers are out, but it shouldn't be like this on here sad

The title of the thread is

The changing face of Gransnet?

and my reply reflects this. Lisagran, this is just nonsense- as well you know it, and honestly so very low.

EllanVannin Sun 31-Jan-21 15:12:58

That's a whippet looking breed who by their natures are thin ?

Galaxy Sun 31-Jan-21 15:13:06

We are not in agreement. I dont want an unmoderated site. I think that's insanity to be honest.

kittylester Sun 31-Jan-21 15:23:42

I don't think anyone has mentioned an unmoderated site, Galaxy, just a lighter touch sort of moderation, as it used to be. To not be treated as naughty children.

biba, I am baffled by your comment to Lisa.
