Some news about our H o S
RF family want their 1969 documentary to be taken off air. The Queen was talking in it about a governor that looked like a gorilla, in one little clip, of docu seen on twitter.

Queen doesn't want her various shares and their values in companies made public too embarrassing. And lobbied in the 70s to be made exempt from new law. She has millions in off shore accounts.

P Charles land owner lobbied to be exempt from new leaseholder legislation that would have allowed homeowners to buy the land their property sits on.

And when people from the Duchy die with no living relatives P Charles gets the money, with other landowners around the country money goes to the treasury

Then there is Andrew

The 20,000 Sandringham Estate gets millions in subsidies

Queen gets her Wendy house refurbished to her own specifications including a new thatched roof.

Meanwhile in other news a little boy stole a tin of soup because he was so hungry, never mind.

If my 99 year old father had private health care, I’d have been happy to see him given a high level of care. If that meant he waited in a safe environment, ie the private hospital he’d been admitted to, until space for necessary surgery was available in the nhs hospital - I’d have hoped he could have that.
I can’t imagine feeling anger that this was available to PP. I’m angry 11 years of Tory misrule is diminishing our nhs - that’s another row

A perceived inequality, not a proven inequality. And yesterday it was an accusation of sexual proclivities based on hearsay. It certainly doesn't read like a discourse on privilege. So unsurprising that people are confused by the agenda.

It's differing from the dislike of Meghan in that it is her directly observable behaviour that's drawing comment (from most anyway).

Just a bit puzzled by the turn things have taken.

Anniebach Thu 04-Mar-21 18:27:34

I still can’t believe that Phillip at a meeting said he liked shop girls , did he have no concerns about this being sold to the press

Lucca Thu 04-Mar-21 18:32:56

My point was just that Trisher doesn’t hate Philip.

“ It's differing from the dislike of Meghan in that it is her directly observable behaviour that's drawing comment (from most anyway). ”. There are many many posts which claim to know the workings of Meghan s mind and her motives and which belittle her for being an actress (or starlet as one poster said)

And you know that because? trisher hasn't felt the need to deny her hatred of Phillip, and is still saying he was given preferential treatment ahead of somebody in more urgent need. Add to the salacious defamatory gossip she gleefully shared from her FIL, I'd say she hates him.
trisher are you equally resentful of the private treatment Meghan had for her pregnancy and delivery in this country? No doubt other women were disadvantaged to accommodate Meghan, even within a private hospital.

Can anyone give me a good & successful example of a Republican State ,,you know a state where everyone is equal & all have enough or more to survive on. Jobs , homes , incomes etc . ? No hierarchy etc?

I don’t “know”. This is what I said :” I just want to say that I don’t honestly think Trisher “hates” Philip. Her point is about inequality.”

Note the word “think”.

NellG Thu 04-Mar-21 19:31:28

In short Bridgeit, no. Certainly none spring to mind.

Rosie51 Thu 04-Mar-21 19:34:33

Lucca Look at the post I quoted, there is no "think" in there.
My point was just that Trisher doesn’t hate Philip.

And look at my original comment, I didn’t feel the need to repeat “think”.

Carwyn Jones, then First Minister of Wales and Leader of the Welsh Labour Party, said, when his father had a hip replacement done privately, that it was a matter of convenience.
He did say it was not his choice but his father's.

We all want the best for our families.

Oh for goodness sake, I'm supposed to trawl back to check your previous posts? I quoted you. You could read the quote I referred to. You then decide to try a putdown.

I don't hate Philip, I don't particularly like Meghan. I do think the worship and adulation of members of the RF is a lttle strange. I also think that it is one of the reasons our society is so fractured. Even some quite normal people seem to imagine they have some sort of special relationship with them. They are entitled to better standards of everything and anyone who questions that or them is accused of hatred.

Anniebach Thu 04-Mar-21 20:18:04

trisher I am one who defend much about the royal family, I
do not love them, yet you accuse and say you don’t hate even though you criticise them on every thread about them

A bit like anyone who criticises any behaviour of Meghan is labelled a hater then by her worshipping adorers. I don't hold any brief for any of the Royals, but I don't like salacious gossip and unproved allegations of queue jumping to the point of endangering other's lives. I don't believe anybody said they were entitled to higher standards of healthcare, just afforded the same emergency treatment any of us would expect for ourselves and our families.

Awful lot of tarring with a very broad brush going on hereabouts!

Both ways.

Anniebach Thu 04-Mar-21 20:25:55

No NellG just exchanging opinions, no one been tarred

NellG Thu 04-Mar-21 20:30:39

Hatred? Worship? Adulation? Big words for an exchange of opinions Annie

Just hoping that no real offence is caused.

Anniebach Thu 04-Mar-21 20:42:06

Opinions NellG no different to political threads

No put down attempted. Just responding to what you said to me “and you know that because “. Enough already.

Lucca Thu 04-Mar-21 22:08:58

Just for clarification . Rosie refers to anyone who objects to the full on criticism of Meghan as “worshipping adorers”
Don’t include me in that please. I don’t know the woman, have never met her, and quite possibly would not like her if I did, I simply find many of the comments narrow minded and frankly catty. Such as “ she’s not an actress she’s a starlet “

Anniebach Thu 04-Mar-21 22:23:08

A poster said Kate was like a 1950’s housewife, that was bitchy ,

NellG Thu 04-Mar-21 22:28:41

What's behind the cattiness though? People don't feel this strongly for no reason. What is it that Meghan hooks in people that incites such reaction? It isn't a deep abiding adoration of the monarchy in many cases - but the woman threatens something deep and abiding. I think it's the sanctity of 'family'. If she can break the RF, nothing is sacred. This kind of visceral dislike is rarely about the individual in question and much more about what they bring out in us, and what they represent for our feelings.

I wonder if the calls for everyone to stop talking aren't just about a boredom with H&M as a topic of conversation, but often a need to stop having to face the difficult feelings she/they provoke. If they can justify cutting off a family, no less the Royal Family, then they set a precedent for any and every unhappy millennial to dump their family...it's not a comfortable concept.

Anniebach Thu 04-Mar-21 22:54:11

NellG for me it’s not a fear she will break the royal family, I dislike Megan because she hurts people, and uses people, in my opinion she is a narcissist
