Grandma70s point is, we simply do not know what power the queen wields, because dealings with the government on her behalf are not open to public scrutiny. Likewise we do not know the true extent of the wealth of the queen and RF.

If an MP or peer sought to secretly influence a draft bill in this way, it could lead to a criminal charge

It is. Absolutely no one could say it isn't, not even the queen! Time it was changed among other things. It's not fair to the citizens of the country. That 25% would be better used to benefit them. The queen has more than she will ever use.

I have just read 'The Housekeeper' which I bought second hand. It is an old book, written before Diana died, and was banned in Britain.
It is written by the Housekeeper at Highgrove. What an eye opener! My goodness, the Royals lead a pampered life. They seem to pay for very little, everything is provide free or at a massive discount. It is interesting that the 'People's Princess' lived such a luxurious life and pretended that she was interested in how ordinary people lived until it affected her.

I'm sure it is indeed an ey eopener. Interesting and not surprising that it was banned. I think it would only annoy me if I read it.
