Gingster there is no pink in the sky here just grey, perhaps my bedroom window is facing the wrong way? ?

I told the Doctor , that I would attempt tomorrows Health check , maybe walk , will test the climate today as after the bitter cold , I did go and get some Fish & Chips late afternoon , and came back and ate them , need to rebuild my appetite, so I can get some normality back .
Also confidence has been low, with new medication, and getting used to my own bed again and routine.
The cold air did not help my condition with a heart problem .

Good morning from a freezing Colchester with patches of frozen snow still lying. Warming up gradually later and a thaw expected.
Roast beef and Yorkshire pud later.

DD1 has a moving date and we are exchanging some furniture. I will be doing some online window shopping today for dining chairs and curtains.

Yesterday we unexpectedly spent some (distanced) time at the field with our two eldest grandsons, 7 and 5. It was lovely, and very difficult to resist the temptation to give them a hug, although they would have probably run off if we'd tried! DD and SiL were doing some work to the horse shelter and then made bacon sandwiches for them and the boys on a campfire. Noregard ? was most disgruntled at being shut out of the yard as she loves to be with us, trying to get someone to scratch her considerable tummy!

Today, a walk out later, but not much else planned.

Good morning from the Sefton coast where it is 2C but the howling, biting wind makes it feel like -5. Don’t think I’ll be venturing out!
Slow cooker beef casserole to be made according to a recipe I haven’t used before. I’ll mix together the ‘exotic’ (for us) ingredients beforehand just in case! Chocolate cake or scones with clotted cream and jam available for afters. No tipple post jab though.

Good morning from North Yorkshire. It’s still very windy here but the temperature should be above freezing today so the last of the snow should go.
Mick stay in where it is warm today so you have a better chance of being ok tomorrow to go to see the GP.
Another day of nothing much here. Might set about culling some of the paperwork in my study...or might read my book.....
Bluesapphire I’m missing DH too today although we didn’t bother much with Valentine’s Day.

I used to shop most days but now only go twice a week for essentials for 2, sometimes 3 of us. I walk and manage to carry it all. Shopping for 1 weekly should be easily doable.
Luckily today is the end of the bitter cold, so that should help you. But please do go for your health check.

Good Morning all and a Happy Valentine's day from the Scottish Borders where it is still frrreezing cold.
After last night's zoom quiz, DS3 sent a video/film of their wedding 15 years ago to all of us and I watched it last night with a mixture of sadness, exhaustion and pure joy!
They filmed an entire Strip the Willow, Dashing White Sergeant and that one where you go under the arched arms.
It was a Scottish wedding/dancing day.

Oh dear Mick you really do need to stay indoors in the warm and start to build up your strength, going out every day after your health scare, without a mask really isn’t a good idea, however as Marydoll said, I’ve said my piece!
I actually went out twice in 2 days!! Once for my Covid jab and yesterday for a Mammogram. I know.........spoilt.
DD2 also has her date for her knee op in March. That’ll give me something to worry about.
Sent DD1 and her family a Waitrose delivery of Cornish cream tea ingredients plus some other treats and they sent a nice photo of them all enjoying it all with their hats and coats on, their little cottage is like an ice box, but they seem to cope, I guess we’ve all been there.
Anyway a gloomy and very windy Oxfordshire and this beef won’t roast itself.
Just heard that Trump has been acquitted , deary me, whatever are they thinking?

Mick the cold air is bad for those of us with breathing problems. I have asthma and leaving a warm house to go out into freezing temperatures is no good at all. My asthma nurse suggests wrapping a warm scarf round the nose and mouth "bandit-style" and breathing through that so that the air is warmed before it reaches the lungs.

Our village hall has become a vax hub at weekends and I notice a tremendous amount of to-ing and fro-ing from my window. Well done the NHS.

I'm having a family Zoom later today and will finish watching "The News of the World" on Netflix, starring Tom Hanks and an amazing young girl with the most expressive face (it's good!)

Good Morning Mick and All from the grey, cold and very windy Cumbrian coast. I don't suffer from SAD but I find grey skies depress my spirit. And am I wrong in feeling Sunday has a greater share of such days?! I like to listen to Classic FM but on Sundays music always seems to match the weather! Well, enough of moaning, I am going to put on my own cheerful music and play catch up with my science magazines which are piling up.
One silly little thing I've taken to doing to perk me up a little first thing....I have an extensive earring collection and, normally, on a house day I wear the plainer ones. Now that I have no reason for dressing up, I'm giving the fancier ones an airing every day. They put a little smile on my face and remind me of where they came from, either gifts from loved ones or bought on holiday somewhere .

Good morning from a very cold Shropshire?

Marydoll,we got engaged on Valentine’s Day too.We were in the Lake District and I had a feeling DH would propose.We drove around all day and he kept parking the car,he’d get out and look around then drive off again.Eventually we got back to Bowness and he proposed at the side of the Lake.The next day we were out for a ramble and came across a beautiful tarn with spectacular views.He said this is the sort of place I was looking for yesterday so I had to give the ring back and he proposed again!We have been back every year until last year.

Nothing much planned today.Usual chores then reading for the rest of the day.

Cold, grey and still this morning. Nothing planned though I need to check the furniture going tomorrow to be reupholstered just in case the odd coin is lurking. The ottoman is full of old curtains which I have found it hard to get rid of but they can go in the garage until the charity shops open up again. So the sitting room will contain the sofa and DH’s armchair and look very odd for several weeks. I am rather hoping that lockdown isn’t lifted before the contents are returned!

Otherwise the usual nothing though I have bought DH a box of his favourite chocolates, partly as an apology for being so short with him. I do wish I was more patient, but I would be somebody else if I were.

We have rain incoming later so I’ll dig my hooded waterproof out for my walk and listen to Gardeners Question Time as I stroll. We seem to be staying up later and waking later, fine when DH is not working, when he starts again the 6:45 am alarm will be a shock. No plans today, lots of sport to watch, a crossword to continue attempting. Lamb shanks for dinner with a bought pudding, a rare event here having afters! Have a gentle safe day all of you.

Good morning all. Still snow and ice in Polmont. Grey skies today too. I was supposed to pick up my new specs today but I'm going to cancel as my road is still treacherous and it's very icy underfoot. I don't fancy falling. Grannyme6 welcome to this lovely place. I have no plans today and no valentine to share them with anyway. Dinner will be steak braised in Guinness and mash and then apple sponge. I might make biscuits later. Have a good day all.

My hip feels tight this morning, but will ease soon, now I am up.
We will listen to the online service, DH will put the world to rights with his pal, and I will do a doorstep handover of a doll's pram to a neighbour, for her little one.

Yesterday was lovely, as my GD and GGS Facetimed for a long chat, with many interruptions of gymnastic ability by GGS.
Then DD and SIL also Facetimed, just for a catch up, with coffee and a lot of nothingness, that we so miss now.

Today is DS2 wedding anniversary, and I forgot to send a card. Luckily DH said he had sent an electronic one, so we haven't completely forgotten them.

Sad to read yesterday about Jingles, she was much missed after her banishment.

Did anyone else have trouble sending PM's yesterday?

Now I must go and get myself ready to face the day.

Good morning all. No crimson sunrise this morning in Glasgow, quite grey but milder at last.

I have a supply of blank cards and matching envelopes in my craft hamper and when I opened it last night looking for ideas to make a Valentine card for DH, it was obvious he had been there before me....I did my best to stay in loving mode as I tidied up the guddle in search of ideas to make his card.

Good morning, Michael and all GNs. Please take it easy Mick - this really cold weather can knock the stuffing out of you for sure. A very late one for us - we slept the sleep of the dead. The South Yorkshire weather feels slightly warmer but the heating kicked in early this morning. Rain is forecast for later, so no outings planned. Roast chicken for lunch. Enjoy your Sunday, all!
