Do you have biscuits with a cup of tea?

I remember the Rington's tea van coming to my Mother's. Don't remember the biscuits though.

I had to stop buying biscuits,

I couldn’t keep my greedy little hands off them.

A biscuit with a cup of tea ... no. If I buy a packet of biscuits they get eaten before I get home, therefore, because I don’t want to put on weight I don’t buy. Sad isn’t.
I remember the time I worked in an office on the fifth floor, in Trafalgar Square, a lady came round with a tea trolly to give everyone a cup of tea and a biscuit. Happy times I didn’t have to worry I was so skinny.

I used to be able to say I never eat biscuits, but sadly it is no longer true. If we are given special ones I eat them. I am still eating up the Christmas ones. I must stop as I have put on too much weight this past year. I eat proper meals, no puds, just too much potato and always bread with my lunch. I have to limit fruit, which I love, because of IBS, so it is hard to know what to have if I feel peckish.
It must not be biscuits though.

I used to love dunking ginger nuts into milk.
Dunk and suck.....it could go on for ages before the biscuit got soggy.mmmmm

I don’t buy biscuits now - I like them too much! They challenge my self-control. My husband is diabetic and he wouldn’t be able to resist them either.

I have no biscuits in the house as I'm in the process of weaning sugar out of my life. Sugar is inflammatory, so makes all my conditions worse. Also, it causes imbalances in the gut and that's where our immunity comes from so I want to be as healthy as possible.
(sorry for the uber boring answer, but it's the truth)

I like biscuits but I am avoiding them because I am avoiding the dentist. But pre covid I do like to make my own shortbread and I can usually eat the lot over a couple of days.

Oh I like biscuits. I like all the wrong things haha. But am avoiding buying or baking anything.

Had Ringtons delivered up to a couple of years ago - tea, coffee, biscuits, cakes and hampers. They teamed up with Maling (another local company) and produced commemorate tea caddies back in the day, now often sold on eBay. Think they started 1905ish and delivered tea by horse and cart. Their vans are still have very distinctive livery and well known.

Off topic - but their ginger snaps are to die for! Can buy them locally now, without home delivery.

Ringtons used to do the Pyrex didn't they? I have a few bits that I used to collect.

Has anyone seen the debate on how to eat a chocolate digestive? McVities say you should hold it chocolate side down so the chocolate melts straight onto your tongue. Makes sense?

Don’t drink tea or coffee but I am partial to Cornish gingerbread biscuits made by Furniss.
We have them when we go on holiday to Cornwall each year
(and bring a couple of boxes home).

We’ve started having afternoon tea at 3 and we have biscuits then. The Yorkshire Tea malted biscuits teabags are lovely - they taste like digestives dipped in tea!

yes Georgesgran I have some of those nice Maling tea caddies Ringtons sold. Inherited them from my mam and now tucked away somewhere ?. Also have a model Ringtons tea van made by Corgi I think.
Does anyone actually manage to hold a chocolate digestive on their tongue long enough to let it melt!?

Has anyone had Timtams the ‘devils’ Australian biscuit. I had to buy two packets each time, so that I arrived home with a packet to share.
