Lovely feel good post, Ann. I should imagine that now you just feel happy and reassured since all those who love you showed you that today. You deserve it, why not?
I'm getting very stressed about those 2 missing moggies. Cats are such creatures of habit that when something odd happens, it's so hard not to worry. I've suffered the same. In the past I had a devoted, non-straying adult cat disappear into thin air for 2 weeks from our country house. Photos, posters, enquiries in the community, messages to Vets, people checking outbuildings, you name it.....
I recall that I was sitting outside speaking on the 'phone to my late Mum in England. She was a great fan of that pesky little cat. Half way through a long conversation, said cat strolled past me along the terrace and straight into the kitchen. I was so shocked that it took me a moment to focus and realise what was happening. I was so thrilled and couldn't imagine where she had been for a fortnight - or why. She was not a fan of other cats or other people, she wasn't thin, she had no marks on her pads, she just looked normal! Never worked out what had happened or, more importantly, why!
But the relief......
Come back safely little Fern and Mya, PLEASE.
We've had a lovely day, wonderful sunshine but a very cold strong wind. Heating on this evening since the difference in day and night temperatures at the moment is not a comfortable one.
To all who have family struggles or sadness highlit by The Day, be strong and be patient. It will pass. To those who miss their Mums - and I'm included in that - hold fast to those precious memories. To those who had a small glimpse of normal life again today, good for you. Life is going to get better - just focus on that and find your smiles.
Monday tomorrow, the 15th/the Ides of March and my late Mum's birthday - well no, actually. She was blessed with two birthdays, courtesy of some well-meaning but rather giddy maiden aunts. After she was born, her own Mother wasn't well for a while. The birth wasn't registered. Eventually two giddy aunts volunteered to visit the Registrar. They turned up and did the deed. A very long time after just before my Mother's retirement, she needed access to her Birth Certificate which couldn't be found. She applied to Somerset House and was sent the requested copy. Big annoyance - the birth date was wrong.
Correspondence with Somerset House confirmed that their date was the correct one. It seems that the Aunts couldn't have remembered the precise date and so took a guess at it! As Mum said, it would have been a better surprise if the correct date made her slightly younger rather than older, but that's life!
Forever after until her death at 103, she - like the Queen - was the proud possessor of two birthdays. It caused no end of queries and problems because no one, including Mum, could ever recall the new correct date. Mayhem would always ensue when some official said "and your date of birth, please?"
Have a decent restorative night's sleep after your busy days, Kitcheners. Nighty night and sweet dreams, all. x
