Yiayia4 I’m an interloper too, or at least relatively new, I’ve never seen the kitchen with the lights off and everyone hiding from me, it has all embracing arms.
Just debating going out for a walk and the sky darkens, probably just a shower. I was up and out early, for me, dropping breakfast goodies for our GC’s to make breakfast for their Mum. What a good job they did too, photo.

Today is a day off from rootling through stuff. I am going to watch the Scotland v Ireland rugby match a little later. It is wet, wet, wet. Blowy with it. We shall light the log fire this evening.

Did any of you watch 'Line of Duty' last night? It is well acted, and we now look forward to the new series that begins shortly.

Puzzler Way back on February 21st you shared a beautiful photo of your Amaryllis. At that time, mine had a two inch green shoot. Nowt else. Here is the photo that I took of it today. Isn't Mother Nature remarkable? All that growth in a relatively short period of time.

Happy Mother's Day all. I'll share my box of goodies with you all. That, and the enormous cheesecake Tesco delivered instead of the slice I asked for. Most of the side effects of the vaccine have abated but now I have a stomach upset. It's the gift which keeps on giving ?. Yiayia keep posting. I joined not so long ago. It's a very big, comfy kitchen. Off to visit dd soon. Have a good day all.

It is a splendid Amaryllis - such a beautiful hue and well worth the wait soop.
Flowers are magical I think.
I’m waiting on some Peppermint Muscari just poking up through compost in a ceramic vase indoors. They will be
bi-coloured if/when they bloom. I’ll post a photo but it may be a few weeks wait.

Lovely chocolates and L’Occitaine toiletries from my two DD and a good chatty video call with DS, he lives in Switzerland with his partner so I’ve not seen him for over a year now - but I’m hoping to go as soon as travel is allowed.
I hope Mia has come back Hellogirl or if not I hope she’s back very soon ..

soop three days is a long time for that minx not to appear looking for a lovely meal, beautifully prepared with a very cosy place to snooze afterwards.

I do hope the pair of them appear sharpish.

I went to Waitrose for a loaf of bread to discover the queue going around the large car park. I nipped into a Tesco Extra and found 2 rolls- that will do nicely toasted tomorrow and I can go out foraging again for bread.

It looks as though there have been some good Mothers' Day celebrations.

I went for lunch with family and we all nearly froze outside; but I have lovely flowers and bulbs and some halva - yummy.

And my lovely DD,s who are themselves splendid mothers, are having a wonderful day too.

It is known as Moth Day in our family, as my OH (who was a GP) once helped the girls to ice a mothers' day cake using a hypodermic syringe full of icing - he misjudged the spacing so it said "Happy Moth Day" - hence the lovely cards I receive always having moths and butterflies on them.

Welcome Yiayia4 I've been visiting the Kitchen for about a month now. It's the most comforting place on GN

Long chat with son this morning. He's giving his notice in tomorrow and ringing the doctor. All the stress has enraged his skin condition, which started in his early 30s. Not sure of his financial situation but am concerned as he has never been one for saving even when he could. I felt I was touching a nerve when I talked about his current job. It's about a 6 hr drive to us but we talked of him coming as soon as allowed to.
Hoping he will text me on Monday.

My daughter sent the most creative and touching card to me. Lots of hearts and on the back of each one was an IOU:
cuddles whilst cooking together, a hug, a link of arms, a hand hold and a coffee and cake chat. Happy/sad tears - lots of them.

I have my first attempt at sloe gin out ready to toast all mums everywhere especially those who won't see their children today or not for some time.

Sorry to hear about Mia.

Awww! You lot never fail to make me smile.

Lovely photographs of super gifts. I've been on the phone with my three "boys" - eldest is 60 in July. Middle son is 57 and youngest is 45. All three are such good boys.

Is Mia back where she belongs? Fern is still absent. I would be lying if I said that I was not concerned. We both check the patio every half hour or less. Not a glimpse of "our pussy cat".

Scotland lost to Ireland. It was an exciting rugby match. But...

I am logging off for today. I may have my G&T a wee bit earlier tonight. Well, it is Mother's Day.

A meal kit for bacon naan rolls and the making of Bellinis arrived this morning from one of DD’s favourite restaurants. Mothering Sunday will continue tomorrow morning then! DS arrived with the Smalls and brought flowers and gin - he knows his mum! We went to the park but it was very chilly.
Time to start dinner then - roast beef.
