I have just read that Mr Potato Head (you know that cute little toy that many of our children had) is now gender neutral and is now just Potato Head.

Another half-baked notion! I bet someone gets a roasting for allowing the chips to get all mashed up!

Luckynan, you will have to throw a six to put your head back on!

Anyone consulted King Edward shock

Really Mr Potato Head being deemed as gender neutral is hardly surprising. Col Cannon has been presenting as non binary for a while and is now pressing ahead to get on to a vegetable only side dish space. Cis vegetables such as Charlottes, who admit they are quite comfortable with a knob, as long as the knob is butter, have already pointed out that whilst vegetarians may well be happy to accept all manner of potatoes and even be sympathetic to Savoy Cabbage going into that mix, knowing that Savoy has no roots and maybe that has some bearing in that they naively accept who they mash up with given they are rather young and green. The general feeling however in the vegetable box is that bacon is never going to go down well with the average vegetarian. Desiree was heard to yelling at Col, "visibly you will always be meat and two veg, no non meat eating person in a vegetable only space wants to be presented with lardons and be told it's a vegetable shock"

The case continues.

Scary thought , what's going to happen to the Mr Men books ?

Have they nothing better to do and nothing better to spend money on? Obviously they hope to butter up the woke consumer for fear of being cooked to a crisp.

Hetty58 Fri 26-Feb-21 08:30:24

Mr Silly will just be Silly - and Little Miss Naughty just Little Naughty. It's the crisps I feel sorry for.

Grandmabatty Fri 26-Feb-21 08:59:21

I'm sorry to mash all your puns, however Hasbro has announced via twitter that it's not correct and they will be keeping both Mr and Mrs Potato Head. Seems as if this was a half boiled attempt to change things.

This is so funny. I think they should leave the moustache-it affect Mr and Mrs.

sodapop Fri 26-Feb-21 09:10:22

grin this thread cheered me up this morning.

Good free publicity though.

TerriBull Fri 26-Feb-21 10:55:21

I gather there is talk of a podcast, but I believe the broad beans, and peas aren't happy in a potato appropriating what is a physical feature associated with pulses. Plus some say Mr Potato Head hasn't got a pulse shock

LauraNorder Fri 26-Feb-21 18:47:59

You lovely, inventive, witty lot. ?

Doodle Fri 26-Feb-21 19:28:47

grandmabatty I think you’ll find the correct expression is par boiled.

MissAdventure Fri 26-Feb-21 19:39:05

Well, I think they're frittering away a good game.

Whingingmom Fri 26-Feb-21 19:41:13

Thanks everyone for such a laugh!

Jaxjacky Fri 26-Feb-21 20:36:04

Will Toy Story be banned?

Mollygo Fri 26-Feb-21 21:03:52

No but it will have “This video contains items which some viewers may find offensive” notices at the start. I can just imagine some teenage viewers hoping for the really juicy bits!

Kim19 Sat 27-Feb-21 07:58:38

Who needs professional comics when we have you lot. Just terrific! Thanks......

Gwyneth Sat 27-Feb-21 09:39:03

I really think someone should get a ‘roasting’ for this! How can they do it?

Grannynannywanny Sat 27-Feb-21 09:58:55

Poor Mr and Mrs Potato Head must be boiling mad due to all this speculation over their private lives. It surely must get under their skin.
