Good Morning Everyone,
Its another grey and cold start here in Brackley this morning .
Today , a small shop before preparing my lunch and then watch cycling on TV later .
Yesterday, Chinese Curry , first time since december as to having a take away .
But also ease myself back to normal at a steady pace .
Take Care,
Mick

My deepest sympathies to you, Dragonfly. It's good she lived to such a grand age and you could be with her at the end, but we only have one mother and I guess we never want them to go.

A late good morning from Malta where the weather is absolutely foul! Pouring down with dirty rain, full of desert sand so there will be a lot to clean up when it’s all passed.

Started the day with a power outage which is why I’m late.

Dear dragonfly, I’m glad your mum had a peaceful end with you beside her, but I really do feel for you. ‘The loss of a mother is the first sorrow wept without her’. My sincere condolences.?

Thanks Kalu I’ll certainly give that method a go ?. I remember Kim and Aggie saying finish off by wiping over with scrunched up newspaper.

Good morning from a bright and sunny Northampton. Another day to spend an hour or so in the garden, I think (before this afternoon's rugby!). I managed to cut back a rampant buddleia yesterday, then got the steps out to tackle a rambling rose. I need to empty another large pot of its dead plants, and then check on some more shrubs. And there's loads of weeding to be done. Spent the rest of the day watching rugby on tv, reading the papers and knitting.

Now must go back and read everyone's news. Happy Sunday to all.

Good morning all,

The sun is shining in South Yorkshire today. Not been out yet so don’t know how chilly it is.

DH is hoping to cut the grass if it’s not too wet, it’s put a spurt on since it’s last cut a couple of weeks ago.

My condolences, Dragonfly ?. I hope you were able to draw some comfort from being with your dear Mum.

A few jobs to do today once I summon up the energy - had a few side effects from the vaccine but touchwood feeling better this morning. ?

I do hope that punchy recovers from the sore, sheepandcattle. Yes, it would be so much better if you could order bedrest for her!

Well, folks, take care and keep yourselves safe.

Good morning Mick and all from a brightening Northwest coast.
Condolences dragonfly, I hope you are coping at this sad time on top of this covid situation.
Lots of practical jobs I could do but no play makes Jack a dull boy and that’s my feeling today. Dressed, lipstick and earrings on as if my daughter phones she will think I’m cheerful rather than the reality.
Trying to lose weight but it’s not a good time to be restricting myself.
Letter from neighbour for action from the council re the flooding of our back garden due to in building at the back of our gardens. Can’t deal with that on a Sunday can I??
Have a nice day everyone.

barb1946 Sun 21-Mar-21 10:40:28

Dragonfly So sorry to hear of the passing of your Dear Mother. There will be difficult days ahead for you, but I'm sure you will have very many happy memories in your heart from days gone by.
Take care of yourself.

Good Morning everyone. Blue skies filled with sunshine today in S of France..and warmer. Still waiting for the wind to drop but meanwhile can dry laundry to my heart’s content. Almost a win, then!

Had a newsy email from a good friend this morning which has fired me and inspired me to get off my backside and get on with my own plans. Even in these difficult times, she manages to achieve so much. I feel much the same after pittcity’s posts. There’s so much more to life than work...of course there is. But, getting organised, achieving (however little) every day and then feeling no pressure from the demands of running home and garden does give such a lovely feeling, I think. And time just for us, just to be - when we want. So, this week I’m planning to really get myself sorted. ? watch this space!

So glad your Card situation wasn’t made any worse, gaga.

Such Rugby excitement. Last night, first time ever, DH watched a match with supper and a nice glass of red on a tray.
I did Chilli con carne with a polenta topping. It looked like a posh Mexican shepherd’s pie but was delicious, made a change from rice and was a lot easier to manage amongst the distractions!

No one from the West Country has commented on the incredible ‘boom’ that was heard/reported in Dorset, Somerset and Devon yesterday afternoon. Supposed to have been a meteor crashing to earth? Any info ?

I’m off for coffee and to make a cheesecake. I’m still waiting for Mrs Motivation to stop by and tell me No More Carbs. ?. Maybe as I press on with getting my house in order, a wave of good sense will wash over me. We shall see. I was doing so well until New Year.

Wishing you all a sunny/hopeful Flamingo Day. Especially those struggling or in pain. Be kind to yourselves, be patient with each other and use those smiles.

Such sadness for you, dragonfly but so glad you were there and to know that she’ll be with your dear Dad again. A long life to remember and to celebrate with the support of your family. ?? For you and for your Mum x

Sunday hugs to you all ?‍♀️???

Good Morning to you all from a bright, dry Cambs.,

My sincere condolences to you, dragonfly, flowers, take care.

Warm, good wishes to all, especially those with extra worries & sadness.

Forgot, sheep, to say might colloidal plasters be of any use to that little Pinchy person? As long as the sore place doesn’t have skin over it, such a plaster would allow up to 5 days healing. You’re obviously doing a 100% job in terms of preventing infection, dressings etc., but the pressure/rubbing on that same spot is naturally restricting the healing.

Putting the incredibly soothing and sticky ‘plaster’ on the spot, taping the edges so they don’t get peeled back, and leaving for a few days might heal or at least prevent more damage while the splints or strapping does its work? The plasters offer the best healing environment.

You possibly think, what nonsense...what does SHE know! But I’m afraid I come from the clinic of ‘nobody dies on my watch’, so just had to offer something else to try. No Veterinary qualification of course but have saved many sheep - including one who was threatened with the loss of a foot - so only suggesting because I care.

Have a happy Sunday with all your new little lives.

Good Morning All x flowers Dragonfly flowers
I'm glad the sun's come out here to liven me up because I've been mortified by a call yesterday morning by D in Oz and their weather.

Although not directly hit by the floods the surrounding area is like a battle zone with fallen trees etc and water everywhere. GD and partner live near Collaroy beach which took a bad hit a few years ago when houses nearly fell in the sea so don't know if they'll be evacuated----back to mum's. It's a worry.

I'm feeling worse because I've got Channel 9 news on the laptop with up to date emergencies etc. So far away !
Certainly not the Australia I remember sad

Then I had a call from other D to say that Ruby-Lou was being driven from Durham to stay with her siblings for the weekend so could possibly pop in sometime today before she's picked up and driven back. Nearly a 3hr. journey---through how many counties ?

With half the day gone I decided to get stuck in and hoovered around then had to get a stock of cat food in. I never thought my little trolley would come in so handy as it's only latterly that I dug it out of the cupboard to use. It beats carrying bags, even though I don't feel right with it grin

I'll have to read through posts to keep up but I'm managing to catch up with the first page. So sorry Dragonfly x.

Thinking of Pinchy's wound, when my Bertie cat was " got at " by a fox a couple of years ago and caused a bite on the inner part of the cat's thigh, I kept putting Germolene on it as it wouldn't have mattered if he'd licked it, and it did help to heal it in no time.

I was going to defrost a joint of meat for today but decided on a couple of the thick lamb chops instead and mash some potatoes with a few carrots. I don't feel like doing much today somehow.

I hope everyone else is keeping alright and you all have a peaceful day. Stay safe. xx

Good morning Mick from Cornwall. We're covered in a light cloud. No sun expected.

Gorgeous kitten Ashcombe. I saw a very fluffy kitten / cat walking down our track the other day. We're 500m from nearest neighbour and know they don't have one. Shooed it back up the track and hope it found it's way back home.

Sad news Dragonfly. As you say: Now with Dad flowers

Scentia. In like an eyelet. My curtains for the bedroom in the new house have just arrived (complete with eyelets). Think this is only the 3rd time in my life I've bought ready made curtains,

Sheep. Same here with takeaways. We're in a remote part of Cornwall. I take our insulated bag with me when I pick up fish and chips.

Gagagran. It's so easily done. I hate that sinking panicy feeling you get.

Elizabeth1. Oh No!! I'm not sure you'll spot this but Line of Duty is on tonight. You get quite a few reminders about this. Just spottead Jax's. I'll be glued.

Marydoll. Busy night! I never dream or I should say I never remember any dreams. I have enough listening to MrM's. They are very vivid.

Back to digging out for the first raised bed. Struggled through yesterday with the sciatic pain so did pilates workout last night before bed. Really helped so I'll do another this morning before we finish the bed. MrM has the sleepers almost ready.

Chilli with a sprinkling of cheese tonight plus homemade rolls if I get time.

Hoping to get my dear son's 'quick' chat today. If not I'll text him. I'm sure he's probably still in bed at the moment. I'll see how much he wants to talk about his plans for work. He's on Linkedin so will probably be looking for contacts there.

Safe and happy day everyone.
