Hello all

Safely back from Vaccine appointment! Photo for you GrandmaB and anyone else who'd fancy a trip to the beautiful old City at Carcassonne.

Slightly discomknockerated to note that it tried to rain on our parade - literally. We hadn't gone more than about 30 miles when we needed to use the windscreen wipers. No rain since Moses was in short trousies, and since we just don't go far, (not allowed normally) we wondered why we were being singled out for showers. However, it didn't come to much and everything dry again after about an hour.

What are we going to do with you soop ? Genuinely hope that you will do not very much at all until you start feeling a whole lot better. The antibiotics will probably knock you for six, so it's so important to rest up, lounge about, enjoy your fabulous views and demand that the occasional grape is peeled for you by your favourites in-house caring person!
Read a very interesting article in the paper yesterday, which I shall send to you. Seriously now, take care. We will all go to pieces without you, so don't force us to send you threatening letters, please. (Galen looks like she may already be on the warpath!)

Sounds like everyone is busy and relatively cheery. As one of our lovely Kitcheners has said, cabin fever is difficult to deal with. Well, we'll all be released back into the wilds of life soon and there should be no further need for us inmates to be turning on each other in our own homes. Sensible men need to read the signs and stand well back, I think. ? (But either they don't, or of course they're just not very sensible!)

How lovely are you to be sending cwtches to soop, *Panache. You should be saving everything for the two of you at the moment. Life must be so hard and we are all aching from willing things to get better for you. Take care, please.

Knew he'd come good, Muse. Know you're very pleased! Wonder why our grown children never ever understand just how much we stress and worry and wish so hard for them. They can just go off radar and never think or realise how upset we get. Hope he lands the new job and allows his dear Mum to remain happy and optimistic! x

Poor soop still feeling rough, May you have a peaceful night and some swift attention tomorrow.
Another allotment visit, 4 bags of old horse poo bought, unloaded and spread, carted another 4 on to my friends plot too. First courgette plant glimpsed in the greenhouse beneath the soil and sowed some flower seeds, 2 of my cucumber seedlings indoors have damped off, basically no good. Oven on for a roast in a bag chicken and veg prepped, all will be done, dusted and cleared away by Mr J well before LoD. I’ve booked a slot at the local tip tomorrow for all the cardboard accumulated from deliveries, our old kitchen bin, lurking in the garden can go too. I can’t abide ‘clutter’, and 2 cleaning tidies are ensconced with said cleaning bits in bathrooms, one up, one down.

‘Evening All’

Earlier for me. We’ve had a lovely afternoon lunch with my stepfather. Himself is just back from taking him home. I sided the table and washed up. Teamwork!

Now what to do? I’m not a fan of Call the Midwife or LoD. Read some articles I’ve saved to my ‘Pocket’ app I think. There’s no point otherwise!

Beautiful sunset soop thank you for sharing. I can’t believe this is your view every evening looking out to the west. I’d sit there and look out at that gorgeous sunset and feel any care or woes melt away. Nature in all her glory indeed. Living by water has got to be the best and most holistic in my opinion.

I’ve downloaded that photo and have selected it as my screen saver. I do like to change them every now and again. It will stay there until you tell us you are feeling better. Each time I open my iPad I will be thinking of you. x

So sorry your old problems have come back. If only the doctors could come up with some new technique to repair drop-bot etc

You must rest and that is an order. You have too many buggerations going on at the same time which does not help.

You lot are the best. Thank you for your kind messages. I appreciate them. I have no intention of banging on about my medical buggerations. Not when there are so many of you dear Kitcheners who are dealing with far worse.

I feel very nauseous. Perfectly happy to sit quietly in the sunny garden. All will be well. When things return to sort-of normal, I shall be bouncing back to share some happy moments with you.

Forgot to say. Our goddaughter is back home. Sadly the whole process wasn't as had been explained to her and she's pretty upset as well as relieved its over and done with. A different surgeon on the day with a different approach. She's back in personal carer role in spite of being instructed to rest for 5 days. I can't change that one so I'm focusing on distanced cheering up and positivity. Just hope it helps.

A huge get better soon from me soop, please no more apologies, you've created a space here where we can all be honest about just how life is.

I totally understand grannysomerset, cabin fever has a lot to answer for.

Had a very windy walk around a lake this morning, the sky was blue and so was my nose by the time we returned to the car. There has been a lot of work carried out there, much improved views across and many more seats. With less wind and a few more degrees I'll settle happily. I tried to post a photo but it wouldn't load, not sure if the Gremlin is with me or GN.

You mean so very much to so many,you have been so kind and caring over many years, always there with kin dness and an uplift whenever we have our own problems.
So sad hearing you are having such a rough time.
Although we may not be able to truly help in the physical sense, we certainly can you give you a virtual welsh cwtch and offer you a rapid return to improved health.

Whilst Maw thinking very much of you especially after hearing of your sad canin e loss.
However so pleased that there is another pet on the horizon and I wish Maisie a full recovery,so that she will be able to join you soon.
She will help heal the wounds left behind following losing your former companion.

I know the feeling grannysomerset. I have far too much time on my hands and find fault with everything. Two men in my house much of the time ....aaargh!!! Can't wait until were fully let out.

Still cold but sunny so more time in the garden I think though I can still feel the effects of yesterday’s efforts. Nothing much else but we are really feeling the effects of being out of social circulation for so long. Yesterday evening we agreed that we would be better in separate rooms as DH is fed up with my constant fault finding and I am fed up with doing it. Resolved to be more positive today though I can’t promise!

Morning all,

Its another bright day here and I have passed a cheery 20 minutes watching a hare dance in the field . There was a passing duet with Norbert the Pheasant who was en route to breakfast in our garden and then the hare leapt off to do whatever hares do on a Sunday !

I am so sorry to hear you are feeling poorly Soop , I hope by today you are feeling much better but a weekend of rest wouldn't go amiss would it?

We are slowly working our way round the house tidying and spring cleaning . The garden is being tidied too. We have our fingers crossed for visitors in May when the rules change again and I want to enjoy every second so we'll do the work now.

Soop so sorry that you are so unwell, we had such high hopes when that surgery took place that all would be sorted. Sending you much love and hope you get better very soon.

I am pleased to report that our builder has been brilliant and has rearranged schedules to make the kitchen work possible. He just said we were not to worry and he would sort it all out a different way, outlined how he would do it all and just smiled and went off - the strong silent type! I could have hugged him but I don’t think it would have gone down too well. What a relief though! He also got his sidekick and moved various heavy items for us which also helped enormously so I am a very happy lady.

For the second time since the building work started we have had an ‘interesting’ postal delivery which we can only assume to be by a relief postman as nobody has ever delivered to anywhere other than our front door which is clearly visible. On the first occasion the wall, gateway and porch had been demolished exposing the old side door which had a letterbox 2/3rds of the way up it and the footings had been dug out leaving a distance of around 6 -7 feet up to it from the ground. The postman walked past the pathway to the front door and jumped down into the excavated building site and leapt up to post our mail through the side door. What a chump! On the second occasion we had just had the concrete poured for the floors when he did it the following morning. You really do wonder, when we have tried to rope it all off but some people are determined to go their own way. Himself has now plastered it with black sticky tape which is very obvious. I have now phoned the Royal Mail to try and make sure it doesn’t happen again not wishing to cause trouble for the postman but to ensure that he stops doing it and we are not held responsible for damage or even injuries caused by such antics. Very weird!

‘Evening All’

Just popped in to wish you all a peaceful night ahead. We’ve just got back from babysitting. Left two sleeping children as Himself picked up theirs parents from the wine bar. They’ve enjoyed a couple of hours in the tea time sun. Actually their first ‘night out’ in a year - well deserved. Our takeaway should be here any minute. I’m ravenous!

Sounds like you’ve had a really enjoyable day with the DGC jaxj, I too have had a lovely day today sat in DD2 garden and watching the DGC play. Lots of laughter and happy memories made ..
Back home now exhausted so settling down for a quiet evening - or whatever is left of it

Soop, I am so sorry to hear that you're in such pain and distress. You are very dear to all of us and we need to know that you are getting the very best care.Your GP seems to be on the ball, and hopefully the scan can be arranged sooner rather than later.
