Good Morning Everyone,
Its bright and sunny here in Brackley this morning .
Today for me a quiet day of housework , shredding etc , followed by cycling on TV this afternoon.
Mind you watching cycle races , seems in Europe as very touchy area, with maybe key races being postponed or channelled n France and Belgium etc , due to covid outbreaks this 3rd wave could easily enter UK .
Take Care,
Mick

JaxJacky I certainly won't be planting anything outside until end of April! It's just when I read of everyone getting started in their garden, I have the urge to plant. Never fear, I'll hold fire. Marydoll I read that thread after your comment and I thought it was quite nasty in places and some posters, one in particular, very unpleasant.

EllanVannin Thu 25-Mar-21 11:02:48

Blossoming I can relate to your balance problem and it's horrible while it lasts. As you say, unpredictable too. Although okay at present after a couple of weeks " like a drunken woman ", I have a feeling that this last time was caused by a nasal infection that I struggled with which affects the ears and eustachian tubes----and not a TIA which I had a few years back.
I doubt I could walk in a straight line even now though grin

Good morning everyone. It's very cloudy in the Gower today but there is blue sky in the east so I hope it's heading our way ?

My WP gt sidetracked in the garden yesterday, as he often does ? so the box didn't get made after all! He did put in a new fence post and sort out a bit of fencing but then started tinkering with other garden jobs. That means, I'm sure, that I have another tea and tool duty day today ?

Happy birthday to your DD Lins, I hope she enjoys her takeaway ?

I read that poster's comments on that thread too Marydoll and thought what an obnoxious thing to say. Please don't think it's you she meant, I don't see any one-upmanship from you, ever! You write vibrant posts and give us anecdotes about your life, don't stop doing that, please ?

Whoo hoo Pantglas, so pleased you are having your second jab today ?
I'm glad your DH is continuing us recovery from his op'" Gagagran?
???GrannyGravy

NanKate, please forward my best wishes to gillybob.

I continue to keep tanith's brave DGS Louis in my thoughts and wish him a perfect recovery ?

? for anyone who needs some today. Be kind to yourselves everyone ❤️

Late to rise today but now sat outside reading the morning postings here.
First Marydoll what everyone says here is right. Please don't let this person's silliness upset you.

GrandmaFrench. I think Mya might get my version of a grooming this morning. Her fine husky hair gets everywhere. The husky is 1/3 of her.

My Narcissus 'Rip Van Winkle' are now nearly all in full bloom. Planting bulbs today and finishing the irrigation system in the polytunnel. Need to keep on my feet as much as possible as the sciatica has really flared up. Very painful night. Finally had to get up at 4:00am to take some painkillers. Doing my pilates stretch before anything else today.

Beautiful blue sky with a few white clouds in Cornwall. Looking forward to Mya's walk early afternoon.

Wishing everyone a wobble free day. [flowers}

Good morning Mick and all from a bright Suet on Sea on the Northwest Lancashire coast. Nice walk around our park yesterday and bought takeout chips, sat in the car by the front gates eating them, reading David Sedaris, laughing out loud, watching people coming and going. Life! Need it in any form.
It’s my boithday today BVM/Lady Day, and have presents to open, the bell rang at an unearthly hour with beautiful flowers from my sister and I accepted them looking like Hammer Horrors.
Son cooking a meal tonight and a zoom quiz planned.
Thinking of Cherry, Marydoll, dragonfly and anyone worried any way.
Will return and enjoy reading the above.

Back from the optician who was very thorough. I have floaters and pressures are up so recommended I get an appointment at the eye clinic (not been seen for 2 years due to you know what). I now have clinic appointment on Saturday afternoon, amazing!
I can’t drive for 6 hours due to drops put in so DH has to now drive in to town to collect my car and take me for my babysitting duties. He will collect me again this evening with the boys in tow so a run out for them too.
Following on from comments from posters on other threads my opinion for what it’s worth: in life we encounter some people who can be vindictive, confrontational, opinionated and at times out and out nasty. We don’t know what/why they became like that, but they probably won’t change so the best way to “deal” with them is remove yourself from their attention (physically and virtually). I do not see that as being submissive but for self preservation - don’t let the “b.....s grind you down.
Everyone on this thread makes their welcome contribution, some (not me) are better with the written word than others. Marydoll you are definitely one of those. ?? for all

Urmstongran Thu 25-Mar-21 11:15:52

Ah! ?
Wise choice Roses you obviously have an excellent discernment process if I may say so.

Good morning all,

As greyduster says, intermittent sunshine and cloud here today, but it is meant to remain dry and not too cold - that's forecast for tomorrow. (The drop in temperature at least).

I got out in the garden yesterday, just to do some general tidying up and weeding. The garden looks better for it. I shan't risk planting anything out just yet, but I am itching to get going - will have to hold my horses a bit longer ?.

Marydoll, I'm sorry to read that you are feeling upset by another thread. Please try to let it wash over you. I, along with many others, love to read of your adventures and escapades, and would be sad to see you stop. I'm afraid there will always be people out there ever ready with their sharpened knives and cutting remarks, it's how they are and really, they are to be pitied. So dear lady, you carry on, just as you are. ?

I'll be honest and admit that I haven't read everyone's posts just yet, only skimmed, as there are a lot and I want to post before noon. It's my Pilates day, and I tend to fall a bit behind with reading posts. However, I will go back and read them all. So, to all with difficulties, illness or worries, I give you my very best wishes and hope that today brings you some comfort. To anyone celebrating anything, congratulations.

Take care everyone.

Thanks for the tips. I use a bag of white vinegar tied over the ends and cover the rest in vinegar soaked kitchen towel. Leave as long as possible and then run off. I use an old toothbrush, not sure if we have any copper coins!!!!

As for the loo, I emptied the water and used bicarb and vinegar. Left the paste as long as possible and wiped off.

I am sensitive to the ingredients of most cleaners, so it's lemon juice, bicarb and vinegar for most things.

Grandmabatty Thu 25-Mar-21 12:00:38

Hollysteers happy birthday to you.????

CherryCezzy Thu 25-Mar-21 12:11:27

? Happy Birthday to you ? hollysteers. Enjoy your zoom quiz and meal later ? ? ?

Beechnut Thu 25-Mar-21 12:17:44

Happy Birthday hollysteers enjoy your meal and quiz ??

Greyduster Thu 25-Mar-21 12:31:45

Happy Birthday, Hollysteers - have a lovely day!??
It has only just registered with me that my ironing board cover is covered in flamingos. Does this make for happier ironing? No, it bloomin’ well doesn’t!! Can I please have some flamingos that work?

Blossoming Thu 25-Mar-21 12:35:39

Happy Birthday Holly

Litterpicker Thu 25-Mar-21 12:37:05

Don’t know where the morning went but it was and is, bright with variable cloudiness here in West Sussex but colder than yesterday. Did someone mention snow forecast for 7 April? ?

I enjoy all the postings on this thread, those with a special way with words and those more prosaic - just as in “real life” they are all part of a rich and satisfying mix. I don’t read much else on GN. Sometimes book and TV threads. Anything looking vaguely controversial I dodge. I was very moved, though, by the honest and courageous postings on the “Are you OK...” thread. They must have helped many people to know that they are not alone and that people do come through dark times.

Happy birthday to hollysteers flowers

Sheepandcattle Thu 25-Mar-21 12:40:43

Hollysteers - wishing you a very happy birthday ?!
Greyduster - non-ironing flamingos coming your way! ????????

hulahoop Thu 25-Mar-21 12:43:43

Just come back to say happy birthday ? to holly.

Greyduster Thu 25-Mar-21 12:43:55

I'll stand on the roof with my landing net and catch them as they come in sheep!? Thank ewe!

mrshat Thu 25-Mar-21 12:45:05

Marydoll Please put every thought of one-upmanship out of your mind! It is just 'not you'. Your posts are delightful and entertaining and a real addition to my daily 'Gransnet' fix. Please carry on as you are - but take extra care of yourself just now winkflowers

Oldbutstilluseful Thu 25-Mar-21 12:45:36

Marydoll I just had to add my tuppence worth to all the other voices on here. As with so many of the regular posters, your day to day news and how you find pleasure in small things with humour and perseverance helps me to get through each day, definitely no oneupmanship involved.

I am so impressed by the writing skills of people on this thread, I think I’m very lucky to have found it during the dark times.

dragonfly46 Thu 25-Mar-21 12:51:49

Oh Mary surely such a snide remark could not refer to you. If anything you underplay things and always see the funny side of everything.
As everyone has said we love your posts.

dragonfly46 Thu 25-Mar-21 12:52:44

Happy Birthday Holly.
Sorry I missed it - I am not myself today as I have explained on another thread.

EllanVannin Thu 25-Mar-21 12:57:10

Have a lovely day on your Birthday Hollysteers flowers

LauraNorder Thu 25-Mar-21 13:06:13

Greyduster, your random pink flamingo will appear when you look at your completed stack of beautifully ironed laundry.?
??very happy birthday Hollysteers
Have a lovely day. Put up your feet and eat cake ??

Good afternoon from sunny and breezy Derbyshire. Washing is on the line for the moment, but wet weather coming later. I had hoped to get to my allotment today where I'm experimenting with no-dig gardening, but that's not going to happen as I've definitely overdone things over the past few days. So I'm planting bean seeds to germinate on the kitchen windowsill and will spend time later on crocheting a baby shawl for DGD.
Hoping to get a hair appointment soon. Definitely looking scruffy at the moment!! hmm
