Yes, like you I write purchase date, serial number, model number etc on manual, but that requires finding the correct ones in the first place!

Would really annoy me if I couldn’t get a repair or replacement if entitled. Not everyone can afford to ‘just buy another’.

I don't even bother. Life's too short, so if it goes wrong - I'll just buy another.

If ever a product is part of a safety recall, it helps if you've registered it.
I remember a big campaign a few years ago to modify certain tumble dryers that were prone to overheating.

I have occasionally registered a warrantee, and you are correct about the serial numbers being awkward sometimes.

I staple the receipt, and write the serial number on the manual, and file it away. We have one spot with all the manuals for appliances etc. Cleaning it out last year I found some for appliances that came with the house when we bought it over 30 years ago!

your tatutory rights do not depend upon any registering.
just keep proof of purchase date, eg receipt, or credit card.

I had the same problem with a camera, couldn't register the guarantee at all, eventually rang the company to be told that there was actually no need to register the guarantee, just keep the receipt, they only wanted my contact details to send me offers etc!
